several_a article_n of_o the_o law_n lay_v open_a before_o they_o whereby_o they_o may_v try_v the_o whole_a course_n of_o their_o action_n for_o as_o we_o say_v before_o the_o gross_a hypocrite_n mislike_v of_o they_o and_o yet_o herein_o be_v not_o all_o to_o mislike_v ourselves_o for_o some_o particular_n although_o it_o be_v good_a to_o be_v occupy_v about_o some_o special_a sin_n for_o as_o it_o be_v not_o sufficient_a for_o the_o avoid_n of_o hypocrisy_n to_o see_v sin_n general_o so_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o eschew_v the_o deceiveablenes_n of_o the_o heart_n ever_o to_o be_v pore_v busy_o in_o one_o particular_a and_o to_o be_v forgetful_a of_o our_o great_a and_o general_a sin_n but_o rest_n let_v we_o learn_v by_o the_o particular_n to_o pass_v to_o the_o general_n when_o any_o such_o one_o sin_n then_o do_v pursue_v thou_o rest_v not_o only_o therein_o but_o say_v thus_o rather_o to_o thyself_o oh_o lord_n be_v this_o one_o sin_n so_o grievous_a and_o do_v my_o show_v a_o witty_a invention_n and_o comely_a compose_v of_o the_o matter_n but_o if_o a_o man_n press_v into_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n and_o with_o some_o vehemency_n speak_v against_o their_o familiar_a sin_n straight_a way_n they_o say_v sure_o this_o kind_n of_o teach_v bewray_v he_o to_o be_v brainesick_a and_o that_o we_o may_v be_v the_o more_o weary_a herein_o let_v we_o consider_v who_o they_o be_v that_o invey_v thus_o against_o the_o apostle_n be_v they_o not_o man_n out_o of_o every_o nation_n fear_v god_n and_o such_o as_o be_v somewhat_o religious_a yes_o sure_o and_o who_o nowadays_o will_v soon_o and_o sore_a open_a their_o mouth_n against_o zealous_a preacher_n than_o man_n claborate_v in_o art_n and_o skilful_a in_o precept_n who_o not_o be_v able_a by_o wherein_o christ_n leave_v the_o fullness_n of_o doctrine_n of_o prayer_n of_o sacrament_n and_o discipline_n to_o the_o church_n by_o his_o apostle_n and_o therefore_o we_o mind_v no_o revelation_n make_v the_o word_n the_o touchstone_n the_o heretic_n will_v not_o agree_v beside_o as_o in_o all_o other_o art_n it_o be_v requisite_a that_o whosoever_o will_v attain_v sound_a knowledge_n of_o they_o he_o must_v credit_v their_o principle_n for_o otherwise_o as_o the_o very_a heathen_a see_v there_o be_v no_o far_a deal_n in_o the_o learning_n of_o they_o so_o we_o have_v certain_a conversation_n in_o despite_n of_o all_o heretic_n against_o which_o though_o they_o dispute_v declaim_v rail_v and_o write_v we_o will_v never_o lose_v the_o hold_n second_o which_o be_v a_o thing_n unto_o these_o man_n unacquainted_a we_o use_v to_o mark_v the_o scope_n and_o drift_n of_o the_o writer_n we_o compare_v the_o thing_n that_o go_v before_o with_o the_o thing_n that_o follow_v after_o we_o confer_v one_o place_n with_o another_o the_o old_a testament_n with_o the_o new_a the_o allegory_n with_o the_o plain_a speech_n we_o see_v a_o perfect_a harmony_n in_o the_o scripture_n we_o refuse_v all_o dissent_v and_o disagree_v doctrine_n to_o the_o scripture_n all_o which_o neither_o turk_n papist_n nor_o familist_n will_v do_v and_o therefore_o we_o have_v the_o truth_n in_o persuasion_n hereof_o will_v move_v we_o pathetical_o to_o express_v our_o mind_n and_o say_v with_o the_o prophet_n oh_o how_o love_v i_o thy_o law_n it_o be_v my_o meditation_n continual_o then_o when_o our_o strength_n shall_v fail_v our_o breath_n draw_v short_a our_o friend_n depart_v our_o good_n country_n and_o life_n shall_v forsake_v we_o the_o word_n will_v be_v so_o sweet_a so_o long_o and_o loud_a prayer_n prevail_v not_o for_o such_o prayer_n cry_v loud_a in_o the_o lord_n ear_n which_o make_v a_o noise_n with_o the_o feel_n of_o our_o want_n and_o when_o though_o they_o continue_v to_o the_o fail_v want_n of_o our_o eye_n yet_o we_o mistrust_v not_o god_n for_o many_o either_o pray_v cold_o or_o pray_v zealous_o they_o become_v so_o dull_a that_o they_o cease_v to_o put_v their_o trust_n in_o the_o lord_n so_o that_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o nature_n be_v either_o not_o to_o feel_v our_o want_n or_o if_o we_o feel_v they_o to_o despair_v for_o thy_o just_a any_o thing_n of_o god_n we_o must_v do_v it_o according_a to_o his_o promise_n for_o when_o we_o pray_v not_o according_a to_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o lord_n we_o wait_v upon_o our_o own_o fantasy_n and_o seek_v after_o our_o own_o imagination_n many_o break_v in_o their_o prayer_n into_o heady_a and_o rash_a conceit_n who_o have_v not_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n the_o word_n in_o breed_v a_o good_a conscience_n and_o this_o good_a conscience_n do_v nourish_v faith_n for_o whosoever_o will_v execute_v judgement_n and_o justice_n must_v believe_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n &_o that_o he_o have_v judgement_n and_o justice_n full_o perfect_o and_o absolute_o but_o that_o it_o be_v according_a to_o the_o grace_n which_o he_o have_v receive_v yet_o he_o think_v not_o himself_o therefore_o justify_v though_o he_o be_v not_o conscious_a in_o himself_o his_o meaning_n then_o be_v lord_n thou_o search_v the_o heart_n corrupt_a be_v my_o hart_n and_o blind_a be_v my_o mind_n
