always_o of_o one_o kind_n of_o jew_n but_o sometime_o of_o one_o and_o sometime_o of_o another_o according_a to_o the_o diversity_n of_o opinion_n which_o be_v among_o the_o jew_n for_o some_o jew_n think_v it_o enough_o to_o their_o justification_n that_o they_o be_v the_o child_n of_o abraham_n other_o that_o they_o be_v circumcise_v other_o which_o be_v more_o learned_a that_o they_o have_v excellent_a skill_n in_o the_o law_n and_o other_o who_o be_v high_o conceit_v of_o the_o purity_n of_o their_o life_n rely_v upon_o their_o work_n for_o justification_n etc._n etc._n know_v second_o that_o the_o apostle_n when_o he_o have_v treat_v of_o a_o matter_n and_o be_v pass_v from_o that_o particular_a matter_n of_o which_o he_o treat_v and_o be_v upon_o another_o subject_n if_o in_o treat_v of_o this_o latter_a subject_n any_o thing_n may_v arise_v to_o prove_v his_o former_a matter_n he_o take_v notice_n of_o it_o oftentimes_o though_o it_o be_v but_o by_o the_o by_o and_o though_o he_o have_v no_o other_o reason_n so_o to_o do_v but_o because_o it_o prove_v his_o former_a matter_n a_o example_n of_o this_o you_o may_v have_v rom._n 10.17_o in_o those_o word_n so_o then_o faith_n come_v by_o hear_v which_o be_v not_o the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o subject_n which_o he_o have_v then_o in_o hand_n for_o the_o subject_n which_o he_o be_v then_o about_o be_v to_o prove_v that_o all_o the_o jew_n believe_v not_o for_o they_o that_o be_v the_o jew_n have_v not_o all_o obey_v the_o gospel_n say_v he_o verse_n 16._o and_o this_o he_o prove_v there_o verse_n 17._o by_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n for_o say_v he_o esaias_n say_v lord_n who_o have_v believe_v our_o report_n now_o out_o of_o this_o testimony_n of_o esaias_n this_o conclusion_n may_v be_v as_o well_o draw_v viz._n that_o faith_n come_v by_o hear_v as_o that_o viz._n that_o the_o jew_n do_v not_o all_o believe_v wherefore_o because_o this_o conclusion_n viz._n faith_n come_v by_o hear_v may_v be_v draw_v thence_o as_o well_o as_o that_o other_o he_o make_v mention_n of_o it_o here_o verse_n 17._o only_a to_o prove_v that_o which_o he_o say_v before_o ver_fw-la 14._o terrene_a and_o corporeal_a thing_n be_v a_o type_n the_o first_o may_v be_v call_v the_o literal_a or_o historical_a or_o mean_a sense_n the_o second_o the_o mystical_a or_o sublime_a sense_n of_o which_o because_o i_o have_v speak_v full_o in_o my_o preface_n to_o my_o exposition_n upon_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n i_o shall_v speak_v no_o more_o here_o only_o this_o i_o add_v that_o the_o jew_n present_a purpose_n leave_v the_o generality_n of_o the_o word_n themselves_o to_o be_v restrain_v by_o the_o circumstance_n of_o the_o place_n in_o which_o he_o use_v they_o as_o it_o be_v write_v that_o thou_o may_v be_v justify_v in_o thy_o say_n and_o may_v overcome_v when_o thou_o be_v judge_v i._o e._n q._n d._n that_o by_o their_o lie_n as_o by_o a_o evident_a testimony_n of_o god_n truth_n god_n may_v according_a to_o that_o which_o be_v write_v of_o he_o psalm_n 51.4_o be_v justify_v in_o his_o say_n and_o overcome_v when_o he_o be_v judge_v and_o question_v as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o court_n of_o justice_n by_o these_o liar_n concern_v the_o truth_n of_o his_o promise_n and_o the_o fidelity_n of_o his_o say_n this_o be_v the_o sense_n of_o these_o word_n as_o they_o be_v here_o use_v and_o this_o be_v the_o connexion_n of_o they_o as_o will_v appear_v by_o that_o objection_n verse_n 7._o if_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n have_v more_o abound_v through_o my_o lie_n to_o his_o glory_n why_o yet_o be_o i_o also_o judge_v as_o a_o sinner_n which_o objection_n be_v raise_v from_o these_o word_n which_o we_o have_v in_o hand_n when_o a_o man_n be_v accuse_v by_o liar_n when_o thou_o be_v juge_v be_v of_o the_o second_o person_n and_o direct_v to_o god_n yet_o may_v they_o be_v interpret_v here_o in_o the_o three_o person_n as_o speak_v not_o to_o but_o of_o god_n for_o note_n that_o these_o word_n be_v cite_v out_o of_o psalm_n 51._o v._o 4._o where_o they_o be_v use_v in_o the_o second_o person_n and_o therefore_o be_v here_o cite_v in_o the_o second_o person_n but_o though_o they_o be_v here_o cite_v in_o the_o second_o person_n yet_o may_v they_o be_v interpret_v as_o if_o they_o be_v speak_v in_o the_o three_o for_o the_o apostle_n when_o he_o bring_v any_o testimony_n out_o of_o scripture_n he_o cite_v it_o for_o the_o most_o part_n as_o it_o lie_v in_o the_o text_n from_o which_o he_o bring_v it_o not_o regard_v the_o grammatical_a syntax_n of_o the_o place_n where_o he_o use_v it_o but_o he_o leave_v that_o to_o be_v understand_v of_o his_o reader_n these_o word_n viz._n that_o thou_o may_v be_v justify_v in_o thy_o say_n and_o may_v overcome_v when_o thou_o be_v judge_v be_v the_o word_n of_o the_o prophet_n david_n write_v by_o he_o ps_n 51.2_o and_o they_o be_v use_v here_o by_o our_o apostle_n by_o a_o accommodation_n and_o yet_o there_o be_v more_o than_o a_o accommodation_n in_o they_o for_o though_o they_o do_v not_o particular_o show_v in_o that_o psalm_n that_o god_n may_v be_v justify_v in_o his_o say_n and_o overcome_v when_o he_o be_v judge_v and_o so_o be_v glorify_v by_o the_o lie_n of_o a_o liar_n yet_o they_o show_v that_o god_n may_v be_v justify_v in_o his_o say_n and_o overcome_v when_o he_o be_v judge_v &_o so_o be_v glorify_v by_o the_o sin_n of_o a_o sinner_n and_o this_o will_v appear_v by_o the_o word_n as_o they_o lie_v in_o the_o psalm_n itself_o which_o word_n we_o come_v now_o to_o handle_v as_o they_o lie_v there_o that_o thou_o may_v be_v justify_v in_o thy_o say_n and_o may_v overcome_v when_o thou_o be_v judge_v these_o word_n as_o i_o say_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o 51._o psalm_n v._o 4_o which_o be_v a_o penitential_a psalm_n where_o in_o david_n confess_v the_o sin_n which_o he_o commit_v in_o go_v into_o bathsheba_n the_o wife_n of_o vriah_n and_o slay_v vriah_n her_o husband_n with_o the_o sword_n of_o the_o ammonite_n and_o plead_v for_o pardon_n for_o this_o his_o sin_n and_o among_o many_o other_o motive_n which_o there_o he_o use_v to_o move_v conceive_v that_o they_o be_v put_v here_o to_o signify_v a_o appearance_n only_o though_o the_o jew_n may_v think_v that_o when_o they_o seek_v righteousness_n by_o the_o law_n as_o they_o do_v they_o seek_v it_o true_o and_o as_o they_o ought_v to_o seek_v it_o they_o that_o true_o seek_v justification_n or_o righteousness_n for_o these_o two_o word_n signify_v both_o one_o and_o the_o same_o thing_n by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n they_o must_v so_o keep_v the_o law_n as_o that_o they_o never_o break_v it_o at_o any_o time_n no_o not_o in_o the_o least_o tittle_n thereof_o for_o if_o they_o break_v it_o in_o the_o least_o tittle_n thereof_o they_o be_v curse_v by_o the_o law_n galath_n 3.10_o and_o therefore_o such_o can_v never_o be_v justify_v by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o righteousness_n by_o faith_n the_o reason_n why_o the_o jew_n do_v not_o seek_v after_o righteousness_n by_o faith_n be_v that_o they_o be_v offend_v at_o christ_n by_o the_o faith_n of_o who_o only_o justification_n be_v to_o be_v have_v and_o reject_v he_o and_o evil_o entreat_v he_o to_o their_o own_o hurt_n and_o ruin_n by_o bring_v a_o sin_n upon_o their_o head_n and_o put_v away_o from_o stone_n because_o as_o a_o man_n who_o in_o the_o way_n which_o he_o go_v stumble_v at_o a_o stone_n or_o a_o block_n which_o lie_v in_o his_o way_n come_v to_o hurt_v so_o do_v the_o jew_n stumble_v as_o it_o be_v at_o christ_n while_o they_o walk_v after_o justification_n get_v hurt_v thereby_o while_o they_o be_v offend_v at_o he_o and_o reject_v he_o as_o though_o he_o be_v a_o impostor_n of_o that_o body_n so_o be_v they_o sometime_o liken_v to_o a_o house_n and_o the_o chief_a of_o they_o to_o the_o foundation_n of_o that_o house_n and_o thus_o may_v hezekiah_n also_o be_v liken_v to_o the_o foundation_n of_o a_o house_n because_o he_o be_v the_o chief_a of_o those_o believer_n which_o be_v in_o jerusalem_n when_o the_o assyrian_n waste_v the_o land_n of_o judah_n
and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o by_o his_o faith_n induce_v other_o to_o believe_v yea_o and_o by_o his_o example_n and_o constancy_n in_o that_o his_o faith_n he_o uphold_v otheâ—s_n in_o that_o
