come_v to_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o that_o we_o know_v that_o christ_n himself_o have_v also_o his_o part_n herein_o then_o the_o thing_n itself_o declare_v that_o these_o word_n must_v be_v attribute_v to_o christ_n when_o he_o come_v into_o this_o world_n and_o it_o be_v no_o obstacle_n to_o this_o that_o both_o according_a to_o the_o greek_a translation_n and_o according_a to_o the_o literal_a sense_n of_o the_o hebrew_n word_n we_o respect_v that_o place_n wherein_o the_o office_n of_o the_o king_n be_v describe_v whence_o christ_n as_o now_o make_v a_o king_n seem_v to_o therefore_o the_o author_n show_v that_o this_o will_n of_o god_n and_o the_o execution_n of_o it_o do_v consist_v in_o the_o sacrifice_n and_o offering_n of_o christ_n make_v for_o we_o whence_o christ_n as_o the_o object_n or_o matter_n which_o be_v now_o his_o will_n as_o the_o word_n follow_v teach_v we_o sanctify_a be_v explate_v purge_v and_o cleanse_v from_o our_o sin_n for_o which_o must_v necessary_o minister_v and_o offer_v year_n by_o year_n but_o where_o there_o be_v but_o one_o sacrifice_n or_o offering_n to_o be_v make_v there_o the_o high_a priest_n minister_n and_o offer_v but_o once_o only_a for_o hitherto_o the_o author_n have_v intend_v only_o this_o to_o show_v that_o christ_n enter_v into_o his_o heavenly_a sanctuary_n not_o to_o offer_v often_o according_a to_o the_o manner_n of_o the_o legal_a high_a priest_n but_o to_o make_v one_o only_a offering_n as_o appear_v in_o the_o former_a chapter_n verse_n 25._o for_o to_o this_o point_n as_o to_o his_o main_a scope_n all_o his_o argument_n be_v direct_v the_o high_a priest_n being_n en_fw-fr tere_v into_o the_o holy_a place_n do_v not_o sit_v there_o but_o be_v wont_a to_o stand_v there_o before_o the_o mercy-seat_n as_o before_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n and_o he_o stand_v there_o daily_o which_o must_v not_o be_v so_o understand_v that_o he_o do_v so_o every_o day_n in_o the_o year_n but_o upon_o a_o set_n and_o certain_a day_n of_o the_o year_n which_o have_v it_o circuit_n and_o come_v about_o year_n by_o year_n namely_o at_o the_o solemn_a anniversary_n fast_o for_o the_o universal_a expiation_n of_o the_o whole_a people_n for_o he_o daily_o offer_v upon_o that_o day_n whensoever_o it_o have_v recourse_n for_o in_o this_o sense_n he_o use_v the_o same_o word_n before_o chap._n 7.27_o where_o he_o open_o speak_v of_o that_o solemn_a annual_a sacrifice_n upon_o the_o day_n of_o expiation_n whereto_o he_o have_v reference_n in_o this_o place_n also_o as_o particular_o appear_v from_o the_o three_o verse_n of_o this_o chapter_n where_o he_o mention_n the_o commemoration_n of_o sin_n every_o year_n which_o be_v constant_o confess_v by_o the_o whole_a people_n at_o that_o sacrifice_n which_o can_v never_o take_v away_o sin_n the_o cause_n be_v here_o show_v why_o the_o legal_a high_a priest_n must_v offer_v those_o sacrifice_n often_o namely_o because_o they_o can_v christ_n sit_v at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n and_o sit_v there_o for_o ever_o to_o the_o world_n end_n therefore_o he_o shall_v never_o offer_v sacrifice_n more_o for_o how_o can_v it_o beseem_v or_o rather_o how_o can_v it_o befall_v so_o great_a a_o majesty_n to_o offer_v again_o another_o sacrifice_n that_o be_v to_o die_v again_o and_o then_o again_o to_o enter_v into_o heaven_n for_o see_v christ_n sit_v at_o god_n right_a hand_n for_o ever_o therefore_o the_o majesty_n of_o christ_n must_v continue_v for_o ever_o also_o and_o then_o how_o can_v christ_n ever_o offer_v who_o whole_o reject_v god_n law_n and_o turn_v to_o false_a god_n of_o who_o we_o read_v deut._n 17._o and_o who_o no_o man_n resemble_v near_o than_o they_o who_o fall_v away_o from_o christ_n and_o his_o most_o holy_a religion_n 2._o in_o that_o it_o seem_v proper_a to_o apostate_n to_o tread_v under_o foot_n the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o to_o account_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o covenant_n a_o unholy_a thing_n for_o this_o be_v incompatible_a to_o they_o who_o constant_o adhere_v to_o the_o christian_a religion_n be_v notwithstanding_o fall_v into_o some_o single_a sin_n or_o vice_n 3._o in_o that_o this_o place_n seem_v most_o alike_o to_o that_o chap._n 6.4_o where_o we_o have_v say_v the_o author_n speak_v proper_o of_o apostate_n but_o the_o former_a sense_n be_v also_o favour_v 1._o in_o that_o the_o word_n sin_n have_v a_o general_a signification_n and_o perhaps_o every_o where_n for_o word_n must_v not_o be_v restrain_v within_o the_o use_n of_o speech_n when_o no_o reason_n constrain_v it_o and_o the_o word_n sin_n in_o the_o place_n of_o john_n 16.9_o have_v of_o itself_o a_o general_a signification_n though_o afterward_o it_o be_v specify_v and_o explicate_v in_o particular_a what_o kind_n of_o sin_n he_o there_o understand_v 2._o from_o the_o occasion_n and_o scope_n of_o the_o author_n for_o before_o he_o have_v admonish_v they_o to_o exhort_v one_o have_v break_v his_o commandment_n that_o soul_n shall_v sure_o be_v cut_v off_o his_o miquity_n shall_v be_v upon_o he_o for_o to_o despise_v the_o law_n here_o in_o this_o author_n be_v the_o same_o with_o despise_v the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o break_v his_o commandment_n with_o moses_n in_o number_n here_o to_o sin_v wilful_o and_o there_o to_o do_v presumptuous_o be_v all_o one_o and_o here_o shall_v die_v without_o mercy_n and_o there_o he_o shall_v sure_o be_v cut_v off_o be_v all_o one_o for_o what_o be_v this_o else_o but_o not_o to_o spare_v not_o to_o show_v any_o mercy_n to_o the_o second_o we_o say_v that_o he_o do_v tread_v under_o foot_n the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o account_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o covenant_n a_o unholy_a thing_n who_o dare_v violate_v the_o covenant_n which_o be_v publish_v by_o christ_n and_o establish_v by_o his_o blood_n or_o dare_v as_o much_o as_o in_o he_o lie_v to_o irritate_fw-la or_o dissolve_v it_o that_o it_o may_v be_v void_a and_o of_o no_o effect_n by_o commit_v those_o sin_n which_o by_o the_o covenant_n be_v punish_v by_o death_n and_o damnation_n to_o the_o three_o we_o say_v that_o this_o place_n be_v not_o so_o altogether_o like_o that_o chap._n 6.4_o but_o that_o there_o appear_v a_o plain_a unlikeness_n for_o there_o both_o the_o scope_n and_o occasion_n of_o the_o word_n and_o the_o word_n itself_o of_o fall_v away_o compare_v with_o the_o matter_n precede_v do_v all_o declare_v that_o the_o author_n proper_o speak_v of_o apostasy_n but_o here_o as_o we_o have_v see_v the_o scope_n and_o occasion_n to_o be_v receive_v although_o among_o those_o sin_n apostasy_n hold_v the_o first_o place_n and_o thereto_o the_o author_n have_v reference_n chief_o but_o not_o only_o the_o word_n wilful_o as_o we_o have_v say_v seem_v to_o signify_v the_o same_o sin_n that_o the_o scripture_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n call_v presumptuous_o and_o so_o commit_v in_o contempt_n of_o god_n majesty_n or_o by_o haughtiness_n and_o pride_n of_o mind_n and_o this_o kind_n of_o sin_n be_v oppose_v to_o sin_n commit_v either_o out_o of_o ignorance_n or_o infirmity_n wherefore_o it_o note_v unto_o we_o those_o kind_n of_o sin_n which_o be_v witting_o advise_o and_o purposely_o and_o so_o argue_v a_o mere_a malice_n of_o mind_n such_o under_o the_o new_a testament_n be_v account_v all_o vicious_a we_o here_o in_o this_o life_n but_o of_o those_o also_o which_o be_v to_o accrue_v to_o we_o after_o our_o death_n and_o it_o may_v be_v many_o age_n after_o but_o have_v see_v they_o afar_o off_o they_o see_v not_o the_o effect_n of_o god_n promise_n actual_o fulfil_v or_o near_o to_o their_o fulfil_n but_o they_o have_v as_o it_o be_v a_o prospect_n of_o they_o a_o far_o off_o they_o foresee_v in_o their_o mind_n the_o performance_n of_o they_o far_o remote_a from_o themselves_o by_o a_o great_a distance_n of_o time_n to_o be_v fulfil_v in_o their_o posterity_n after_o many_o age_n so_o they_o see_v the_o performance_n by_o faith_n because_o they_o have_v a_o evidence_n or_o sight_n of_o the_o performance_n not_o see_v as_o it_o befall_v unto_o abraham_n who_o in_o a_o deep_a sleep_n see_v in_o a_o vision_n that_o four_o generation_n must_v expire_v and_o that_o his_o posterity_n must_v endure_v a_o heavy_a servitude_n before_o they_o shall_v take_v possession_n of_o the_o inheritance_n promise_v and_o without_o all_o doubt_n abraham_n impart_v that_o vision_n to_o his_o son_n isaac_n and_o isaac_n unto_o jacob._n and_o be_v persuade_v of_o they_o and_o pilgrim_n in_o the_o land_n but_o that_o they_o do_v confess_v themselves_o pilgrim_n and_o stranger_n in_o that_o land_n it_o appear_v both_o by_o the_o word_n of_o abraham_n who_o request_v to_o
