as_o well_o as_o sometime_o ill_a with_o the_o church_n and_o people_n of_o god_n 2._o the_o reasonableness_n of_o this_o motion_n of_o divine_a providence_n will_v appear_v to_o you_o from_o god_n have_v accept_v a_o price_n a_o satisfaction_n for_o they_o so_o as_o now_o there_o be_v no_o condemnation_n to_o they_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n but_o he_o have_v a_o controversy_n even_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n but_o there_o be_v two_o more_o proper_a branch_n of_o application_n which_o i_o further_o aim_v at_o the_o one_o concern_v sinner_n more_o proper_o the_o other_o concern_v such_o who_o heart_n be_v right_a with_o god_n use_v 3_o in_o the_o three_o place_n this_o observation_n look_v upon_o all_o man_n even_o the_o worst_a of_o man_n and_o speak_v to_o they_o for_o two_o thing_n 1._o that_o they_o will_v employ_v all_o the_o talent_n which_o god_n have_v give_v they_o in_o some_o service_n of_o god_n sir_n you_o can_v none_o of_o you_o work_v for_o a_o more_o liberal_a and_o bountiful_a master_n the_o world_n be_v the_o great_a thing_n in_o the_o eye_n of_o worldly_a man_n they_o will_v be_v rich_a and_o great_a and_o honourable_a they_o have_v no_o can_v have_v no_o hope_n by_o affliction_n to_o grow_v more_o holy_a no_o man_n grow_v rich_a by_o part_v with_o money_n to_o pay_v his_o debt_n none_o can_v hope_v by_o affliction_n to_o grow_v more_o holy_a that_o his_o affliction_n shall_v purge_v away_o his_o dross_n or_o take_v away_o his_o tin_n or_o he_o by_o they_o be_v make_v more_o conformable_a to_o the_o image_n of_o his_o bless_a punishment_n hence_o be_v their_o penance_n and_o purgatory_n found_v but_o that_o be_v a_o very_a uncomfortable_a notion_n and_o the_o more_o we_o look_v into_o it_o the_o more_o dreadful_a it_o will_v appear_v on_o the_o other_o side_n the_o antinomian_o be_v as_o much_o almost_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n deny_v the_o affliction_n of_o god_n people_n to_o be_v punishment_n of_o sin_n or_o judgement_n when_o the_o scripture_n so_o call_v they_o the_o truth_n lie_v in_o the_o middle_n betwixt_o these_o two_o extreme_n they_o be_v judgement_n they_o be_v punishment_n of_o sin_n but_o they_o be_v no_o legal_a demand_n of_o satisfaction_n nor_o give_v satisfaction_n christ_n have_v satisfy_v for_o the_o whole_a guilt_n of_o their_o sin_n for_o who_o he_o die_v all_o of_o that_o nature_n as_o to_o they_o be_v finish_v upon_o the_o cross_n so_o that_o the_o affliction_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n their_o punishment_n for_o sin_n have_v now_o both_o another_o name_n and_o notion_n than_o satisfaction_n 2._o a_o second_o mistake_n upon_o which_o this_o objection_n be_v found_v be_v that_o christ_n by_o his_o death_n pay_v a_o price_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o his_o father_n justice_n for_o all_o temporal_a punishment_n due_a to_o man_n for_o sin_n so_o as_o to_o excuse_v those_o for_o who_o he_o die_v from_o they_o now_o as_o to_o this_o whatsoever_o we_o may_v fancy_v 1._o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n never_o do_v purchase_v for_o his_o people_n any_o such_o thing_n as_o a_o freedom_n from_o temporal_a death_n and_o the_o smart_n of_o bodily_a affliction_n he_o have_v take_v away_o the_o sting_n of_o death_n but_o not_o death_n he_o have_v deliver_v we_o from_o the_o curse_n but_o not_o from_o the_o cross_n this_o be_v all_o have_v they_o in_o their_o own_o language_n so_o as_o they_o may_v read_v and_o in_o a_o great_a measure_n understand_v what_o they_o read_v all_o have_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n they_o have_v the_o gospel_n preach_v to_o they_o though_o it_o be_v true_a that_o also_o be_v in_o very_o different_a degree_n yet_o all_o have_v something_o of_o what_o they_o call_v a_o moral_a season_n any_o eminent_a station_n or_o place_n in_o his_o church_n or_o to_o do_v he_o any_o eminent_a service_n in_o any_o civil_a state_n the_o providence_n of_o god_n ordinary_o seize_v upon_o their_o heart_n in_o their_o youth_n and_o keep_v they_o from_o those_o debauchery_n in_o their_o life_n as_o may_v expose_v they_o to_o the_o obloquy_n of_o the_o world_n and_o make_v they_o say_v be_v
