prayer_n to_o comfort_v and_o strengthen_v his_o weaken_a conscience_n for_o it_o be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o have_v the_o common_a call_n and_o word_n except_o a_o man_n have_v special_a proper_a and_o inward_a call_n which_o yet_o be_v not_o contrary_a unto_o the_o common_a and_o although_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v altogether_o one_o and_o undivided_a yet_o how_o much_o thereof_o a_o of_o god_n and_o religious_o study_v they_o by_o the_o direction_n and_o guidance_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o they_o carry_v always_o with_o they_o and_o put_v as_o a_o light_n into_o this_o and_o hold_v some_o tenant_n gather_v from_o the_o holy_a scripture_n though_o he_o miserable_o wrest_v they_o to_o his_o own_o turn_n yet_o he_o think_v his_o wisdom_n to_o be_v the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n and_o divine_a this_o every_o man_n witness_v in_o his_o own_o writing_n in_o which_o for_o the_o most_o part_n he_o go_v on_o secure_o without_o any_o doubt_n upon_o the_o seem_a approbation_n of_o the_o scripture_n to_o his_o tenant_n and_o opinion_n not_o consider_v that_o this_o be_v the_o very_a presumption_n of_o the_o turk_n and_o infidel_n with_o all_o sect_n of_o false_a christian_n who_o i_o have_v know_v every_o one_o have_v or_o will_v seem_v to_o have_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o be_v the_o foundation_n of_o their_o tenet_n as_o the_o turk_n and_o jew_n think_v at_o this_o day_n their_o faith_n be_v ground_v upon_o the_o word_n of_o god_n hence_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o every_o man_n be_v deceive_v in_o himself_o and_o shut_v up_o to_o himself_o from_o the_o knowledge_n of_o himself_o this_o be_v it_o which_o god_n foresee_v when_o he_o say_v that_o the_o serpent_n shall_v bite_v the_o heel_n of_o the_o woman_n that_o be_v secret_o and_o crafty_o lay_v snare_n and_o deceitful_a gin_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n therefore_o know_v whatsoever_o natural_a man_n though_o wise_a man_n in_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o world_n yea_o adam_n with_o all_o of_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o righteousness_n thereof_o be_v nothing_o but_o foolishness_n and_o wickedness_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o on_o the_o contrary_a the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n and_o his_o righteousness_n be_v foolishness_n and_o wickedness_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n and_o to_o the_o flesh_n so_o that_o all_o art_n and_o science_n be_v only_o fleshly_a be_v altogether_o vanity_n filthiness_n and_o a_o fruit_n of_o the_o forbid_a tree_n from_o the_o which_o all_o man_n eat_v death_n it_o be_v no_o purpose_n for_o a_o man_n in_o word_n to_o deny_v his_o own_o wit_n and_o yet_o in_o his_o heart_n to_o extol_v the_o same_o as_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n or_o secret_o to_o be_v elevate_v therefrom_o these_o be_v but_o the_o finding_n out_o of_o the_o deceive_a heart_n of_o man_n outward_o sugar_a over_o by_o satan_n with_o fair_a word_n and_o whosoever_o rest_v and_o depend_v upon_o these_o fair_a pretence_n he_o build_v upon_o hell_n which_o will_v all_o damn_v for_o as_o meat_n clothes_n time_n place_n person_n and_o such_o like_a do_v make_v man_n neither_o less_o or_o more_o acceptable_a to_o god_n so_o all_o human_a art_n and_o science_n do_v not_o make_v the_o possessor_n thereof_o one_o jot_n the_o better_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n if_o he_o look_v at_o they_o and_o as_o adam_n do_v arrogate_v they_o to_o himself_o therefore_o the_o most_o learned_a and_o wise_a of_o this_o world_n be_v in_o this_o respect_n in_o no_o better_a a_o condition_n than_o the_o foolish_a idiot_n that_o be_v it_o be_v necessary_a therefore_o that_o those_o wise_a man_n go_v out_o of_o themselves_o and_o learn_v to_o become_v fool_n by_o go_v out_o of_o their_o wit_n will_n knowledge_n etc._n etc._n if_o they_o desire_v to_o be_v endue_v with_o divine_a knowledge_n from_o above_o therefore_o even_o as_o the_o natural_a man_n voluntary_o for_o his_o own_o belly_n sake_n do_v torture_v himself_o day_n and_o night_n in_o the_o find_v out_o of_o so_o many_o covetous_a curious_a and_o with_o god_n unprofitable_a art_n even_o so_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o with_o the_o same_o pain_n and_o labour_n he_o learn_v to_o forget_v and_o forgo_v the_o same_o and_o become_v a_o child_n and_o fool_n again_o for_o it_o be_v a_o great_a difficulty_n and_o more_o labour_n by_o many_o degree_n to_o unlearn_v
