dislike_n with_o our_o god_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o religion_n let_v we_o also_o learn_v to_o be_v constant_a 2._o tim._n 3._o 14._o that_o we_o be_v not_o move_v from_o it_o but_o as_o joab_n will_v not_o come_v out_o of_o the_o temple_n but_o will_v die_v hold_v the_o altar_n by_o the_o horn_n so_o let_v we_o die_v hold_v fast_o by_o our_o altar_n jesus_n christ_n and_o that_o see_v we_o must_v die_v let_v we_o die_v in_o his_o arm_n for_o his_o sake_n to_o his_o glory_n and_o our_o own_o salvation_n the_o thirty_o sermon_n vers._n 28._o and_o afterward_o i_o will_v pour_v out_o my_o 2._o 17._o and_o not_o to_o their_o return_n from_o babylon_n by_o the_o cohaerence_n of_o this_o verse_n with_o the_o former_a where_o be_v promise_v knowledge_n as_o be_v here_o the_o holy_a ghost_n only_o they_o that_o be_v persuade_v by_o the_o scripture_n and_o rely_v upon_o nothing_o in_o the_o world_n beside_o let_v we_o then_o 1_o try_v whether_o as_o yet_o we_o have_v have_v the_o holy_a faith_n there_o be_v some_o seed_n so_o small_a and_o of_o that_o nature_n that_o when_o the_o gardener_n will_v sow_v they_o he_o must_v first_o take_v up_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o earth_n and_o crush_a it_o very_o small_a do_v mingle_v it_o with_o his_o seed_n and_o then_o cast_v it_o into_o the_o earth_n and_o it_o prosper_v exceed_o even_o so_o dear_o belove_v if_o you_o mingle_v not_o the_o pure_a earth_n of_o a_o sound_a faith_n with_o the_o seed_n of_o the_o lord_n word_n you_o shall_v never_o receive_v any_o profit_n by_o our_o preach_n and_o this_o be_v the_o very_a cause_n that_o the_o gospel_n grow_v not_o man_n heart_n tremble_v not_o and_o their_o life_n amend_v not_o because_o they_o bring_v mind_n full_a of_o infidelity_n unto_o the_o congregation_n the_o close_a papist_n say_v to_o himself_o i_o will_v hear_v this_o preacher_n but_o i_o will_v believe_v nothing_o that_o he_o utter_v contrary_a to_o my_o first_o receive_v superstition_n the_o proud_a man_n say_v to_o himself_o all_o the_o sermon_n in_o the_o world_n shall_v never_o humble_v i_o the_o covetous_a man_n he_o say_v for_o all_o their_o preach_n and_o tell_v i_o that_o i_o shall_v never_o enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n yet_o i_o will_v not_o believe_v they_o if_o christ_n himself_o say_v so_o the_o ruffian_n will_v not_o forsake_v their_o vanity_n for_o any_o instruction_n the_o common_a people_n say_v we_o preach_v but_o for_o our_o live_n and_o god_n forbid_v that_o all_o shall_v be_v true_a which_o the_o scripture_n and_o
come_n second_o by_o hope_v for_o our_o glorification_n and_o three_o by_o purge_v ourselves_o in_o a_o word_n this_o be_v all_o we_o be_v make_v holy_a by_o regeneration_n and_o sanctification_n for_o a_o new_a mind_n be_v a_o holy_a mind_n as_o a_o new_a life_n be_v a_o holy_a life_n so_o then_o will_v thou_o be_v holy_a the_o word_n must_v beget_v thou_o in_o the_o womb_n of_o the_o church_n and_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n must_v purge_v thou_o in_o the_o tabernacle_n of_o thy_o flesh_n &_o this_o be_v the_o way_n to_o make_v a_o saint_n first_o by_o the_o word_n they_o by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o all_o of_o this_o must_v be_v do_v in_o this_o life_n for_o they_o do_v but_o mock_v and_o delude_v the_o world_n which_o canonize_v saint_n after_o they_o be_v dead_a except_o they_o can_v bring_v they_o to_o life_n again_o so_o then_o a_o pure_a life_n make_v not_o a_o saint_n that_o be_v holy_a without_o a_o new_a mind_n nor_o another_o mind_n without_o a_o clean_a life_n some_o be_v of_o opinion_n that_o there_o be_v no_o saint_n but_o in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o they_o be_v easy_o confute_v by_o the_o scripture_n which_o call_v the_o godly_a at_o corinth_n at_o ephesus_n at_o colossa_n and_o many_o other_o place_n by_o the_o name_n of_o saint_n but_o they_o say_v we_o do_v all_z they_o saint_n which_o the_o scripture_n call_v holy_a man_n and_o i_o pray_v what_o difference_n be_v there_o betwixt_o a_o saint_n and_o a_o holy_a man_n sure_o none_o at_o all_o but_o every_o holy_a man_n be_v a_o saint_n in_o all_o tongue_n that_o ever_o i_o learn_v but_o if_o they_o understand_v saint_n to_o be_v the_o soul_n of_o godly_a man_n in_o heaven_n than_o i_o say_v that_o in_o all_o good_a divinity_n and_o sound_a writer_n there_o be_v none_o such_o speak_v of_o i_o mean_v that_o the_o bless_a soul_n in_o heaven_n be_v only_o call_v saint_n to_o conclude_v hear_v the_o gospel_n believe_v the_o promise_n wait_v for_o
