come_v of_o the_o former_a join_v both_o part_n together_o where_o he_o say_v godly_a sorrow_n cause_v repentance_n unto_o salvation_n iii_o repentance_n be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n we_o believe_v favour_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n even_o as_o it_o manifest_o appear_v to_o every_o godly_a man_n which_o read_v the_o holy_a scripture_n and_o therefore_o we_o judge_v the_o declaration_n and_o hear_n of_o they_o both_o to_o be_v very_o needful_a in_o the_o church_n v._o a_o sum_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o repentance_n every_o where_o and_o always_o necessary_a to_o all_o of_o year_n of_o discretion_n the_o sum_n of_o our_o faith_n concern_v repentance_n necessary_a every_o where_n and_o at_o all_o time_n to_o all_o that_o be_v of_o year_n of_o discretion_n be_v this_o that_o repentance_n be_v a_o change_v of_o the_o mind_n and_o heart_n stir_v up_o in_o we_o through_o the_o holy_a ghost_n by_o the_o word_n both_o of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o gospel_n wherein_o we_o grieve_v from_o our_o heart_n we_o detest_v we_o lament_v we_o loath_a and_o bewail_v and_o confess_v before_o god_n all_o our_o sin_n &_o even_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o nature_n as_o thing_n utter_o repugnant_a as_o the_o law_n teach_v to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n &_o to_o the_o cleanse_v whereof_o the_o death_n of_o god_n own_o son_n as_o the_o gospel_n preach_v be_v needful_a and_o do_v humble_o pray_v and_o entreat_v for_o pardon_n and_o forgiveness_n of_o the_o same_o and_o do_v earnest_o resolve_v upon_o amendment_n of_o our_o life_n and_o on_o a_o continual_a study_n and_o care_n of_o innocence_n and_o christian_n virtue_n and_o exercise_v ourselves_o in_o the_o same_o diligent_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o edification_n of_o the_o embrace_v he_o for_o such_o therefore_o the_o scripture_n do_v teach_v that_o we_o be_v then_o justify_v and_o that_o by_o faith_n in_o christ_n without_o our_o own_o work_n when_o we_o believe_v mind_n may_v be_v more_o and_o more_o enlighten_v and_o our_o will_n make_v better_a &_o better_o and_o our_o strength_n to_o do_v good_a more_o increase_v and_o perfect_v and_o therefore_o while_o we_o remain_v in_o this_o flesh_n our_o free_a choice_n be_v never_o true_o and_o mere_o free_a that_o be_v never_o able_a enough_o of_o itself_o to_o avoid_v ill_a and_o do_v good_a especial_o since_o the_o event_n of_o all_o thing_n be_v not_o in_o our_o power_n but_o in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o that_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o all_o those_o thing_n come_v to_o pass_v 4.28_o act._n 4.28_o not_o which_o we_o think_v but_o whatsoever_o his_o hand_n and_o purpose_n have_v decree_v shall_v be_v do_v viii_o that_o god_n so_o govern_v the_o mind_n and_o will_n of_o the_o godly_a that_o in_o the_o very_a conflict_n of_o temptation_n and_o of_o the_o flesh_n he_o suffer_v they_o not_o altogether_o to_o fall_v from_o he_o mean_o while_o we_o hold_v this_o that_o they_o jer._n 32.40_o luc._n 22.32_o rom._n 8.35_o that_o although_o they_o may_v be_v weaken_v many_o way_n and_o by_o many_o temptation_n yet_o they_o be_v never_o suffer_v whole_o and_o altogether_o to_o be_v beat_v down_o and_o so_o to_o perish_v ix_o error_n we_o condemn_v they_o which_o either_o deny_v or_o extenuate_v this_o new_a birth_n will_v have_v a_o man_n regenerate_v to_o be_v as_o unable_a to_o do_v good_a and_o as_o much_o the_o servant_n of_o sin_n as_o he_o be_v before_o he_o be_v bear_v again_o against_o so_o many_o and_o so_o manifest_a testimony_n of_o holy_a scripture_n concern_v the_o deliverance_n of_o the_o regenerate_a from_o the_o bondage_n of_o sin_n and_o their_o choice_n to_o do_v good_a to_o say_v nothing_o of_o that_o bigh_a injury_n which_o be_v do_v to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o dwell_v and_o work_v in_o us._n again_o we_o disallow_v those_o likewise_o which_o will_v have_v a_o regenerate_a man_n to_o be_v so_o deliver_v out_o of_o the_o bondage_n of_o sin_n that_o he_o can_v by_o no_o mean_n sin_n any_o more_o which_o all_o the_o whole_a scripture_n in_o general_a and_o our_o daily_a experience_n gain-saieth_a for_o although_o we_o be_v not_o suffer_v to_o sin_n unto_o death_n yet_o it_o be_v very_o apparent_a that_o we_o commit_v many_o sin_n in_o their_o own_o nature_n worthy_a of_o death_n therefore_o on_o the_o other_o side_n we_o also_o disallow_v their_o opinion_n which_o do_v so_o extenuate_v or_o make_v small_a the_o force_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o regenerate_a and_o so_o enlarge_v &_o set_v out_o therelique_n and_o remainder_n of_o the_o flesh_n that_o they_o say_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v often_o time_n quite_o extinguish_v by_o the_o force_n of_o the_o old_a man_n and_o teach_v that_o the_o same_o regenerate_a man_n may_v utter_o fall_v out_o of_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n and_o so_o eternal_o perish_v which_o god_n gaine-saith_a by_o the_o prophet_n i_o will_v give_v my_o fear_n into_o their_o
