what_o spirit_n this_o be_v which_o be_v join_v with_o the_o water_n &_o the_o blood_n as_o a_o witness_n upon_o earth_n be_v it_o not_o the_o holy_a ghost_n one_o of_o the_o three_o witness_n from_o heaven_n this_o be_v out_o of_o all_o doubt_n &_o controversy_n that_o he_o speak_v again_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n the_o spirit_n than_o be_v a_o double_a witness_n he_o be_v one_o of_o the_o have_v it_o for_o the_o same_o but_o let_v these_o pass_v with_o their_o antichristian_a doctrine_n &_o give_v ear_n to_o s._n john_n who_o say_v these_o thing_n have_v i_o write_v that_o you_o may_v knâ—w_v that_o you_o have_v eternal_a life_n and_o that_o you_o may_v believe_v etc._n etc._n but_o before_o we_o handle_v the_o word_n let_v we_o see_v how_o they_o depend_v upon_o the_o former_a part_n of_o this_o chapter_n in_o the_o first_o verse_n you_o see_v it_o be_v thus_o write_v who_o soever_o believe_v that_o jesus_n be_v the_o christ_n be_v bear_v of_o god_n this_o be_v even_o the_o ground_n of_o this_o whole_a matter_n namely_o that_o the_o new_a and_o spiritual_a birth_n go_v inseparable_o with_o faith_n for_o he_o say_v who_o so_o ever_o believe_v that_o jesus_n be_v the_o christ_n speak_v of_o the_o true_a and_o lively_a faith_n he_o be_v bear_v of_o god_n 〈◊〉_d so_o he_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n whereupon_o it_o follow_v on_o the_o other_o side_n that_o who_o soever_o be_v not_o regenerate_v but_o commit_v the_o deed_n of_o the_o flesh_n though_o he_o seem_v to_o believe_v yet_o he_o have_v not_o the_o true_a and_o lively_a faith_n but_o that_o which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n call_v a_o dead_a faith_n he_o be_v not_o the_o child_n of_o god_n
