without_o scripture_n can_v possible_o be_v for_o infant-baptism_n i_o conclude_v then_o that_o see_v christ_n command_n be_v as_o clear_v for_o teach_v and_o baptise_v our_o child_n as_o any_o other_o man_n posterity_n and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o express_a duty_n of_o christian_a parent_n to_o bring_v up_o their_o child_n in_o the_o admonition_n of_o the_o lord_n that_o be_v as_o chrysostom_n expound_v the_o place_n to_o make_v they_o christian_n and_o this_o advice_n he_o give_v in_o opposition_n to_o the_o train_n up_o child_n in_o profane_a literature_n and_o the_o precedent_n of_o this_o virtuous_a lady_n who_o child_n whilst_o under_o her_o care_n and_o tuition_n obey_v the_o truth_n and_o walk_v therein_o according_a to_o god_n commandment_n and_o not_o as_o man_n receive_v tradition_n from_o their_o father_n but_o as_o the_o apostle_n have_v receive_v commandment_n from_o the_o father_n and_o so_o he_o exhort_v they_o to_o continue_v and_o to_o beware_v of_o other_o doctrine_n and_o to_o have_v no_o fellowship_n with_o such_o as_o shall_v bring_v any_o other_o doctrine_n than_o that_o which_o have_v be_v deliver_v by_o the_o holy_a apostle_n this_o the_o 3d_o question_n 1._o about_o the_o lawfulness_n or_o allowableness_n 2._o about_o the_o requisite_a necessity_n of_o infant-baptism_n and_o therefore_o i_o only_o refer_v my_o reader_n to_o what_o have_v be_v answer_v to_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o former_a chapter_n and_o now_o when_o the_o parent_n may_v very_o rational_o expect_v some_o command_n from_o god_n to_o bring_v their_o infant_n to_o baptism_n the_o doctor_n tell_v we_o there_o be_v no_o necessity_n of_o have_v a_o command_n or_o example_n to_o justify_v it_o but_o it_o be_v sufficient_a that_o it_o be_v not_o forbid_v but_o he_o refer_v they_o to_o the_o order_n of_o the_o church_n and_o quote_v heb._n 13._o 17._o obey_v they_o that_o have_v the_o rule_n over_o you_o but_o never_o show_v at_o all_o who_o give_v such_o order_n to_o the_o church_n that_o parent_n and_o proparent_n shall_v bring_v their_o infant_n to_o baptism_n and_o therefore_o all_o that_o be_v here_o say_v be_v mere_a talk_n without_o any_o good_a warrant_n he_o quote_v act_n 16._o 4._o which_o show_v that_o the_o decree_n which_o be_v ordain_v at_o jerusalem_n ought_v to_o be_v keep_v and_o we_o allow_v it_o but_o here_o power_n to_o make_v such_o a_o decree_n this_o be_v as_o fit_v a_o time_n and_o occasion_n for_o it_o as_o can_v be_v the_o question_n be_v about_o infant-circumcision_n and_o the_o apostle_n disannul_v their_o circumcision_n will_v certain_o have_v give_v some_o notice_n that_o they_o have_v or_o aught_o to_o have_v baptism_n instead_o of_o it_o but_o see_v they_o do_v not_o in_o the_o least_o mention_n it_o we_o may_v be_v sure_a there_o be_v no_o infant-baptism_n in_o be_v at_o that_o time_n the_o doctor_n will_v now_o show_v we_o the_o benefit_n of_o infant-baptism_n and_o from_o thence_o infer_v for_o the_o duty_n of_o parent_n and_o proparent_n to_o bring_v they_o to_o baptism_n and_o the_o first_o be_v their_o consecration_n to_o god._n as_o if_o no_o infant_n be_v consecrate_v to_o god_n but_o those_o who_o be_v baptize_v methinks_v our_o saviour_n shall_v know_v how_o to_o consecrate_v infant_n to_o god_n as_o well_o as_o the_o doctor_n but_o he_o do_v it_o only_o by_o prayer_n or_o blessing_n not_o by_o baptise_v they_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o such_o as_o follow_v his_o example_n in_o devote_v infant_n to_o god_n by_o prayer_n do_v act_n warrantable_o but_o he_o that_o will_v do_v it_o by_o baptise_v they_o act_n without_o a_o guide_n and_o deprive_v child_n of_o the_o baptism_n of_o repentance_n when_o they_o come_v to_o year_n and_o have_v need_n of_o it_o his_o second_o benefit_n be_v to_o make_v infant_n member_n of_o the_o mystical_a body_n of_o christ_n as_o if_o it_o be_v in_o man_n power_n to_o make_v who_o they_o please_v member_n of_o that_o body_n and_o that_o when_o they_o be_v fast_o asleep_a too_o be_v not_o this_o the_o plain_a consequence_n of_o this_o opinion_n that_o all_o infant_n unbaptise_v be_v not_o of_o christ_n mystical_a body_n must_v perish_v i_o know_v the_o doctor_n do_v not_o hold_v this_o but_o it_o be_v hard_a to_o avoid_v this_o rock_n when_o man_n be_v entangle_v in_o this_o error_n that_o they_o can_v make_v infant_n member_n of_o christ_n mystical_a body_n by_o sprinkle_v or_o cross_v they_o with_o water_n and_o they_o think_v they_o can_v be_v make_v so_o by_o no_o other_o way_n now_o i_o demand_v of_o any_o man_n whether_o the_o whole_a number_n of_o the_o save_v one_o be_v not_o all_o of_o christ_n mystical_a body_n not_o doubt_v but_o it_o will_v be_v grant_v i_o desire_v it_o may_v be_v consider_v whether_o these_o unbapcize_v infant_n who_o christ_n bless_v be_v of_o his_o mystical_a body_n i_o suppose_v this_o will_v be_v grant_v too_o and_o then_o consider_v also_o whether_o all_o infant_n of_o who_o christ_n say_v to_o they_o belong_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v not_o of_o his_o mystical_a body_n as_o it_o contain_v all_o save_a one_o i_o believe_v none_o will_v deny_v this_o the_o last_o consideration_n be_v whether_o christ_n do_v speak_v of_o infant_n indefinite_o and_o as_o such_o comprehend_v they_o all_o and_o if_o not_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o any_o man_n to_o know_v one_o sort_n of_o these_o infant_n from_o another_o all_o die_a infant_n than_o be_v of_o the_o mystical_a body_n as_o it_o contain_v all_o that_o shall_v be_v
