this_o be_v put_v quite_o out_o of_o man_n mind_n for_o man_n be_v teach_v by_o their_o work_n to_o save_v themselves_o from_o purgatory_n or_o at_o the_o least_o to_o deliver_v themselves_o out_o from_o thence_o as_o though_o salvation_n be_v not_o yet_o give_v we_o and_o it_o be_v necessary_a to_o come_v unto_o it_o by_o other_o mean_n then_o by_o faith_n alone_o which_o how_o it_o disagree_v with_o the_o scripture_n and_o a_o christian_a life_n there_o be_v no_o man_n that_o do_v not_o see_v but_o he_o that_o see_v nothing_o in_o the_o scripture_n for_o thus_o the_o holy_a scripture_n do_v all_o thing_n clean_o out_o of_o order_n whereas_o by_o the_o law_n they_o ought_v to_o learn_v that_o they_o be_v servant_n and_o unwilling_a to_o do_v that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o therefore_o shall_v by_o faith_n aspire_v to_o the_o state_n of_o son_n notwithstanding_o they_o go_v so_o far_o that_o they_o seek_v to_o satisfy_v and_o fulfil_v it_o by_o their_o own_o work_n only_o and_o thereby_o they_o do_v altogether_o hinder_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n and_o strive_v against_o faith_n and_o grace_n whereunto_o if_o they_o be_v not_o blind_a the_o law_n will_v direct_v and_o drive_v they_o and_o so_o they_o continue_v always_o a_o blind_a blockish_a and_o miserable_a people_n these_o thing_n paul_n teach_v rom._n 3_o and_o 7._o and_o do_v free_o pronounce_v the_o worker_n by_o the_o work_n god_n judge_v the_o work_n by_o the_o worker_n now_o the_o first_o precept_n require_v that_o we_o acknowledge_v &_o worship_v one_o god_n that_o be_v that_o we_o trust_v and_o rest_n in_o he_o alone_o which_o in_o deed_n be_v the_o true_a faith_n whereby_o we_o become_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o how_o easy_a be_v it_o by_o this_o precept_n to_o know_v seem_v to_o be_v good_a be_v either_o wrest_v from_o they_o by_o fear_n or_o be_v buy_v with_o promise_n a_o evil_a hart_n can_v do_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a but_o this_o naughtiness_n of_o the_o but_o this_o tentation_n do_v not_o easy_o happen_v in_o these_o outward_a thing_n as_o be_v bread_n apparel_n house_n etc._n etc._n thou_o may_v find_v in_o deed_n some_o rash_a head_n which_o for_o no_o cause_n do_v put_v their_o life_n good_n good_a name_n in_o great_a danger_n as_o they_o do_v which_o go_v on_o warfare_n of_o their_o own_o accord_n which_o leap_n rash_o into_o most_o deep_a plenty_n howsoever_o god_n deal_v with_o we_o we_o be_v not_o content_a our_o incredulity_n be_v a_o bottomless_a pit_n of_o malice_n and_o ungodliness_n again_o the_o devil_n take_v he_o up_o into_o a_o exceed_a high_a mountain_n world_n tentation_n by_o vain_a glory_n pleasure_n and_o delight_n of_o the_o world_n here_o he_o tempt_v with_o vain_a glory_n &_o power_n of_o the_o world_n as_o by_o the_o word_n of_o the_o devil_n do_v plain_o appear_v who_o show_v christ_n the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n offer_v they_o to_o he_o if_o he_o will_v worship_v he_o by_o this_o tentation_n they_o certain_a hope_n that_o hereafter_o it_o shall_v be_v reveal_v and_o god_n will_v have_v we_o so_o to_o look_v for_o the_o revelation_n of_o this_o inheritance_n and_o to_o live_v a_o certain_a time_n after_o baptism_n that_o he_o may_v chastise_v our_o body_n by_o our_o ministry_n and_o declare_v the_o power_n of_o his_o grace_n in_o fight_n against_o the_o flesh_n the_o world_n and_o the_o devil_n but_o especial_o for_o this_o cause_n that_o by_o we_o he_o may_v help_v our_o neighbour_n and_o both_o by_o doctrine_n and_o also_o by_o our_o life_n which_o he_o live_v in_o we_o may_v bring_v they_o to_o the_o communion_n of_o faith_n and_o albeit_o he_o can_v do_v this_o by_o angel_n yet_o it_o please_v he_o rather_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v by_o we_o man_n that_o both_o the_o manner_n of_o faith_n may_v be_v the_o better_o know_v and_o that_o all_o thing_n may_v be_v do_v sweet_o and_o love_o for_o if_o
shed_v on_o we_o abundant_o see_v how_o notable_o the_o apostle_n set_v forth_o grace_n he_o say_v not_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v give_v but_o shed_v and_o not_o that_o only_a but_o shed_v abundant_o for_o he_o can_v not_o sufficient_o extol_v and_o magnify_v grace_n and_o the_o work_n thereof_o and_o we_o alas_o count_v it_o so_o vile_a in_o respect_n of_o our_o work_n work_n the_o when_o he_o have_v plentiful_o shed_v it_o upon_o we_o there_o shall_v as_o yet_o be_v some_o thing_n want_v necessary_a to_o righteousness_n and_o salvation_n which_o we_o be_v able_a to_o perform_v as_o though_o the_o work_n of_o so_o incomparable_a grace_n can_v not_o be_v sufficient_a and_o paul_n sure_o may_v be_v reprove_v of_o lie_v which_o have_v not_o speak_v all_o thing_n whereby_o we_o must_v be_v justify_v and_o save_v when_o he_o affirm_v that_o he_o do_v it_o but_o as_o he_o write_v so_o it_o be_v no_o man_n can_v attribute_v so_o great_a thing_n to_o this_o wash_n and_o regeneration_n no_o man_n can_v so_o much_o presume_v of_o they_o but_o great_a thing_n may_v be_v attribute_v unto_o they_o and_o thou_o ought_v to_o promise_v to_o thyself_o more_o thing_n of_o they_o no_o man_n shall_v believe_v so_o great_a thing_n but_o he_o shall_v receive_v great_a forasmuch_o as_o those_o good_a thing_n which_o god_n have_v give_v be_v so_o great_a and_o so_o shall_v come_v forth_o that_o have_v do_v good_a unto_o the_o resurrection_n of_o life_n but_o they_o that_o have_v do_v evell_a unto_o the_o resurrection_n of_o condemnation_n and_o rom._n 2_o honour_n and_o glory_n to_o they_o that_o do_v well_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n to_o they_o that_o do_v ill_a we_o read_v many_o sentence_n here_o and_o there_o in_o the_o scripture_n like_v unto_o and_o blot_n but_o be_v moreover_o god_n also_o therefore_o let_v the_o law_n and_o the_o pureness_n of_o thy_o heart_n yea_o and_o thy_o good_a conscience_n avail_v in_o earth_n only_o towards_o in_o this_o doutfulnes_n of_o mind_n the_o foundation_n fail_v slide_v away_o under_o thou_o like_o unto_o sand_n move_v or_o stir_v and_o so_o faith_n be_v of_o no_o force_n or_o value_n at_o all_o wherefore_o it_o be_v not_o unfit_o call_v feign_v and_o paint_a faith_n through_o which_o one_o see_v as_o it_o be_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o paint_a glass_n through_o which_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v represent_v the_o colour_n of_o the_o glass_n and_o yet_o be_v not_o in_o deed_n of_o that_o colour_n so_o they_o also_o believe_v that_o that_o affection_n be_v in_o god_n that_o he_o vouchsave_v to_o regard_v our_o work_n and_o merit_n which_o they_o paint_v forth_o according_a to_o their_o own_o opinion_n and_o dream_n which_o be_v utter_o false_a rash_a and_o unaduised_a and_o so_o judge_v god_n &_o all_o thing_n according_a to_o they_o they_o see_v only_o as_o it_o be_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o paint_a glass_n but_o so_o only_o thou_o shall_v behold_v he_o with_o pure_a and_o clear_a eye_n if_o thou_o do_v well_o separate_v the_o judgement_n seat_n and_o the_o mercy_n seat_n one_o from_o the_o other_o that_o heaven_n with_o the_o star_n thereof_o may_v remain_v pure_a to_o grace_n &_o remission_n of_o sin_n obtain_v by_o the_o mediator_n where_o christ_n reign_v with_o his_o work_n and_o the_o earth_n also_o with_o her_o tree_n and_o herb_n
