and_o namely_o in_o this_o last_o verse_n unto_o doubtfulness_n of_o judgement_n concern_v the_o lawfulness_n of_o some_o indifferent_a thing_n must_v therefore_o needs_o be_v understand_v of_o such_o incident_a to_o humane_a frailty_n do_v some_o particular_a act_n or_o act_n of_o the_o lawfulness_n whereof_o he_o be_v not_o sufficient_o persuade_v the_o apostle_n then_o here_o speak_v of_o such_o a_o faith_n as_o may_v be_v both_o find_v in_o a_o unbeliever_n and_o also_o want_v in_o a_o true_a believer_n it_o appear_v that_o by_o faith_n he_o mean_v not_o that_o justify_v faith_n which_o make_v a_o true_a believer_n to_o differ_v from_o a_o unbeleiver_n but_o the_o word_n must_v be_v understand_v in_o some_o other_o notion_n yet_o thus_o much_o i_o may_v add_v withal_o in_o the_o behalf_n of_o those_o worthy_a man_n 5._o that_o have_v allege_v this_o scripture_n for_o the_o purpose_n aforesaid_a to_o excuse_v they_o from_o the_o imputation_n of_o have_v at_o least_o wilful_o handle_v the_o word_n of_o god_n deceitful_o first_o that_o thing_n itself_o be_v true_a and_o the_o word_n also_o 1._o sound_v so_o much_o that_o way_n may_v easy_o induce_v they_o to_o conceive_v that_o 2._o to_o be_v the_o very_a meaning_n and_o common_a equity_n will_v not_o that_o man_n shall_v be_v present_o condemn_v if_o they_o shall_v sometime_o confirm_v a_o point_n from_o a_o place_n of_o scripture_n not_o altogether_o pertinent_a if_o yet_o they_o think_v it_o to_o be_v so_o especial_o so_o long_o as_o the_o substance_n of_o what_o they_o write_v be_v according_a to_o the_o analogy_n of_o faith_n and_o godliness_n second_o that_o albeit_o these_o word_n in_o their_o most_o proper_a and_o immediate_a sense_n will_v not_o necessary_o enforce_v that_o conclusion_n yet_o it_o may_v seem_v deducible_a therefrom_o with_o the_o help_n of_o some_o topical_a argument_n and_o by_o more_o remote_a inference_n as_o some_o learned_a man_n have_v endeavour_v to_o show_v not_o altogether_o improbable_a and_o three_o that_o they_o who_o interpret_v this_o text_n as_o aforesaid_a be_v neither_o singular_a nor_o novel_a therein_o but_o walk_v in_o the_o same_o path_n which_o reveal_v to_o his_o church_n in_o the_o scripture_n of_o the_o old_a and_o new_a testament_n or_o some_o part_n thereof_o or_o else_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d for_o the_o assent_n of_o the_o mind_n thereunto_o in_o which_o signification_n some_o conceive_n the_o word_n of_o this_o text_n to_o be_v mean_v do_v hence_o infer_v a_o false_a and_o dangerous_a conclusion_n which_o yet_o they_o will_v obtrude_v upon_o the_o christian_a church_n as_o a_o undoubted_a principle_n of_o truth_n 6._o that_o 2._o man_n be_v bind_v for_o every_o particular_a action_n they_o do_v to_o have_v they_o be_v force_v to_o fly_v from_o that_o hold_n and_o to_o shelter_v themselves_o under_o their_o great_a diana_n tradition_n take_v away_o that_o it_o be_v confess_v that_o many_o of_o the_o chief_a article_n of_o their_o faith_n nature_n &_o vacillare_fw-la videbuntur_fw-la will_v seem_v even_o to_o totter_v and_o reel_v and_o have_v much_o ado_n to_o keep_v up_o for_o what_o else_o can_v we_o imagine_v shall_v make_v they_o strive_v so_o much_o to_o debase_v the_o scripture_n all_o they_o can_v deny_v it_o to_o be_v a_o rule_n of_o faith_n and_o charge_v it_o with_o imperfection_n obscurity_n uncertainty_n and_o many_o other_o defect_n and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n to_o magnify_v tradition_n as_o every_o way_n more_o absolute_a but_o mere_o their_o consciousness_n that_o sundry_a of_o their_o doctrine_n if_o they_o shall_v be_v examine_v to_o the_o bottom_n will_v appear_v to_o have_v no_o sound_a foundation_n in_o the_o write_a word_n and_o then_o must_v we_o needs_o conclude_v from_o what_o have_v be_v already_o deliver_v that_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v receive_v or_o rather_o not_o to_o be_v receive_v but_o reject_v as_o the_o avoid_v the_o force_n of_o all_o their_o argument_n than_o to_o hold_v they_o precise_o to_o the_o letter_n of_o the_o text_n without_o admit_v any_o exposition_n thereof_o or_o collection_n therefrom_o unless_o they_o can_v bring_v clear_a text_n that_o shall_v affirm_v totidem_fw-la verbis_fw-la what_o they_o deny_v they_o will_v not_o yield_v the_o pharisee_n on_o the_o contrary_n
