maintainer_n of_o that_o office_n be_v one_o entrust_v with_o the_o actual_a oversight_n of_o many_o congregation_n and_o of_o whole_a province_n with_o a_o degree_n of_o authority_n flow_v from_o their_o office_n over_o and_o above_o all_o the_o minister_n of_o jesus_n christ_n within_o those_o bound_n for_o if_o christ_n have_v appoint_v those_o great_a office_n and_o office-bearer_n as_o necessary_a in_o his_o house_n how_o shall_v the_o apostle_n have_v pass_v they_o over_o not_o only_o in_o all_o other_o place_n where_o he_o speak_v of_o this_o purpose_n but_o also_o here_o where_o he_o be_v reckon_v forth_o those_o gift_n and_o office_n which_o christ_n ascend_v to_o heaven_n have_v appoint_v to_o supply_v in_o a_o special_a manner_n the_o want_n of_o his_o bodily_a presence_n upon_o earth_n which_o without_o all_o doubt_n shall_v be_v most_o supply_v by_o those_o if_o they_o be_v of_o his_o appointment_n and_o therefore_o though_o the_o office_n of_o rule_v elder_a and_o deacon_n be_v not_o so_o necessary_a to_o be_v here_o mention_v yet_o those_o great_a office_n the_o mention_v whereof_o will_v have_v be_v so_o subservient_fw-fr to_o his_o purpose_n can_v not_o be_v office_n in_o his_o house_n but_o some_o only_a to_o who_o the_o rest_n ought_v to_o submit_v themselves_o and_o obey_v in_o the_o lord_n heb._n 13._o 17._o neither_o be_v all_o office-bearer_n the_o church_n do_v call_v for_o such_o for_o here_o when_o there_o be_v extraordinary_a thing_n to_o be_v do_v the_o first_o foundation_n of_o the_o christian_a church_n to_o be_v lay_v the_o canon_n of_o scripture_n to_o be_v complete_v the_o jewish_a way_n of_o religion_n once_o establish_v by_o god_n to_o be_v put_v down_o the_o lord_n christ_n send_v forth_o extraordinary_a office-bearer_n and_o extraordinary_o assist_v for_o to_o bring_v all_o this_o about_o he_o give_v some_o apostle_n some_o prophet_n some_o evangelist_n 9_o so_o wise_a and_o merciful_a be_v the_o lord_n christ_n that_o he_o do_v not_o overburthen_v his_o servant_n too_o much_o but_o where_o their_o work_n go_v beyond_o their_o strength_n he_o have_v sufficient_o provide_v how_o a_o part_n of_o their_o burden_n may_v be_v take_v on_o by_o other_o for_o the_o work_n of_o lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o the_o christian_a church_n be_v too_o heavy_a for_o the_o twelve_o apostle_n he_o do_v allow_v they_o co-worker_n and_o fellow-helper_n even_o the_o prophet_n and_o evangelist_n he_o give_v some_o apostle_n some_o prophet_n some_o evangelist_n etc._n etc._n 10._o whatever_o be_v do_v in_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n according_a to_o his_o order_n though_o mediate_o by_o the_o hand_n of_o man_n christ_n will_v own_v it_o as_o if_o it_o be_v do_v immediate_o by_o himself_o which_o hold_v especial_o in_o the_o church_n call_v of_o fit_a man_n to_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n according_a to_o the_o order_n appoint_v by_o christ_n for_o he_o make_v the_o call_n of_o ordinary_a pastor_n and_o teacher_n though_o it_o be_v mediate_v only_o and_o by_o man_n to_o be_v from_o christ_n as_o well_o as_o the_o immediate_a extraordinary_a call_n of_o the_o apostle_n he_o give_v some_o apostle_n some_o pastor_n and_o teacher_n 11._o as_o it_o be_v needful_a that_o both_o the_o judgement_n of_o people_n be_v inform_v and_o their_o affection_n wrought_v upon_o and_o as_o god_n have_v furnish_v his_o servant_n with_o answerable_a gift_n for_o effectuate_a both_o so_o we_o be_v not_o to_o despise_v either_o of_o those_o sort_n of_o gift_n neither_o the_o sound_n plain_a able_a teach_v gift_n though_o it_o be_v not_o so_o operative_a or_o take_v upon_o the_o affection_n nor_o yet_o the_o pithy_a move_a pastoral_a gift_n that_o work_v upon_o the_o affection_n though_o it_o be_v not_o accompany_v with_o profound_a knowledge_n and_o great_a learning_n in_o those_o who_o have_v it_o for_o the_o lord_n dispense_v both_o those_o gift_n and_o ofttimes_o not_o to_o the_o same_o person_n he_o give_v pastor_n and_o teacher_n vers._n 12._o for_o the_o perfect_a of_o the_o saint_n for_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n for_o the_o edify_n of_o the_o body_n of_o christ._n the_o apostle_n have_v thus_o far_o enlarge_v himself_o upon_o the_o first_o branch_n of_o that_o general_a argument_n for_o union_n take_v from_o the_o diversity_n of_o gift_n in_o the_o church_n to_o wit_n because_o they_o all_o come_v from_o one_o and_o the_o same_o author_n he_o do_v now_o fall_v upon_o its_o second_o branch_n enforce_v unity_n notwithstanding_o the_o diversity_n of_o gift_n and_o office_n because_o they_o be_v all_o give_v for_o promote_a one_o and_o the_o same_o end_n which_o end_n be_v first_o propound_v in_o this_o verse_n in_o three_o different_a expression_n all_o tend_v much_o to_o the_o same_o purpose_n but_o with_o some_o difference_n in_o regard_n of_o three_o sort_n of_o person_n to_o who_o the_o ministerial_a function_n have_v reference_n first_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o saint_n or_o people_n the_o end_n of_o the_o ministry_n be_v to_o perfect_v they_o that_o be_v to_o bring_v they_o out_o of_o that_o disorderly_a disjointed_a and_o confuse_a frame_n posture_n and_o condition_n wherein_o they_o be_v and_o to_o fix_v they_o in_o a_o well-ordered_a compact_a spiritual_a frame_n and_o state_n which_o be_v attain_v when_o they_o be_v join_v to_o christ_n by_o faith_n and_o one_o to_o another_o by_o love_n for_o the_o word_n signify_v to_o prepare_v fit_a and_o dispose_v thing_n in_o a_o orderly_a frame_n rom._n 9_o 22._o and_o especial_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v before_o rend_v asunder_o mark_v 1._o 19_o or_o out_o of_o their_o own_o due_a place_n and_o order_n as_o disjointed_a member_n
