a_o good_a to_o be_v desire_v as_o we_o be_v all_o bind_v to_o pray_v that_o we_o may_v perform_v this_o duty_n and_o believe_v this_o truth_n for_o faith_n hope_n and_o charity_n be_v not_o to_o be_v separate_v from_o one_o another_o but_o do_v alike_o belong_v to_o supernatural_a truth_n and_o to_o religious_a or_o moral_a duty_n because_o both_o truth_n and_o duty_n do_v equal_o call_v for_o our_o faith_n to_o know_v and_o believe_v they_o and_o for_o our_o hope_n to_o crave_v and_o desire_v they_o and_o for_o our_o charity_n to_o love_n and_o embrace_v they_o but_o if_o we_o take_v the_o outward_a sanctification_n of_o a_o day_n for_o the_o principal_a morality_n of_o the_o sabbath_n we_o shall_v scarce_o find_v a_o petition_n in_o the_o lord_n most_o holy_a and_o most_o perfect_a without_o its_o life_n and_o they_o have_v be_v without_o religion_n either_o of_o which_o alone_o be_v enough_o to_o make_v the_o trouble_n of_o their_o soul_n much_o more_o irksome_a and_o intolerable_a then_o be_v the_o trouble_n of_o their_o body_n how_o much_o more_o both_o of_o they_o join_v together_o and_o thus_o be_v they_o prepare_v by_o the_o want_n of_o so_o great_a blessing_n the_o more_o perfect_o to_o descry_v and_o the_o more_o eanest_o to_o desire_v the_o incomparable_a happiness_n they_o shall_v have_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o they_o and_o happy_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o when_o god_n offer_v to_o david_n either_o a_o seven_o year_n famine_n or_o a_o three_o month_n war_n or_o a_o three_o day_n pestilence_n yet_o he_o rather_o make_v choice_n of_o this_o then_o of_o the_o other_o though_o in_o all_o probability_n he_o may_v expect_v that_o himself_o shall_v be_v the_o first_o to_o perish_v in_o the_o pestilence_n which_o be_v send_v for_o his_o sake_n but_o the_o last_o that_o shall_v perish_v either_o in_o the_o famine_n or_o in_o the_o war_n i_o be_o willing_a to_o impute_v the_o reason_n of_o this_o choice_n mere_o to_o his_o love_n of_o religion_n he_o be_v afraid_a that_o a_o seven_o year_n famine_n may_v make_v the_o people_n for_o want_v of_o meat_n grudge_n and_o repine_v at_o their_o sacrifice_n and_o so_o there_o will_v be_v a_o rabbi_n david_n thereby_o reconcile_n the_o seven_o year_n in_o 1_o sam._n 24._o with_o the_o three_o year_n of_o famine_n 1_o chron._n 21._o 12._o so_o that_o david_n see_v so_o great_a a_o decay_n in_o the_o sacrifice_n for_o a_o famine_n but_o of_o three_o year_n have_v reason_n to_o fear_v that_o if_o it_o shall_v last_v out_o all_o the_o seven_o year_n there_o will_v be_v at_o all_o no_o sacrifice_n i_o say_v he_o be_v afraid_a that_o a_o seven_o year_n famine_n may_v make_v the_o people_n for_o want_v of_o meat_n to_o put_v into_o their_o own_o belly_n grudge_n and_o repine_v at_o their_o sacrifice_n and_o so_o there_o will_v be_v a_o cessation_n of_o religion_n but_o he_o be_v sure_a that_o in_o a_o three_o month_n war_n the_o soldier_n will_v make_v havoc_n both_o of_o sacrifice_n and_o of_o priest_n and_o so_o there_o will_v be_v a_o disturbance_n if_o not_o a_o total_a desolation_n and_o destruction_n of_o religion_n therefore_o he_o have_v rather_o venture_v to_o die_v first_o in_o the_o pestilence_n then_o last_v either_o in_o the_o famine_n or_o in_o the_o war_n because_o he_o fear_v that_o in_o either_o of_o those_o exigency_n religion_n may_v also_o die_v with_o he_o particular_o he_o seem_v most_o averse_a from_o the_o war_n as_o foresee_v that_o he_o can_v not_o flee_v three_o month_n before_o the_o enemy_n but_o the_o ark_n of_o god_n will_v also_o be_v force_v to_o flee_v with_o he_o sect_n vi_o the_o limitation_n both_o of_o the_o prince_n and_o of_o the_o priest_n trust_v in_o matter_n of_o religion_n that_o neither_o may_v deviate_v from_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o that_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o church_n law_n be_v most_o enfeeble_v by_o they_o who_o make_v least_o esteem_n of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n cast_v the_o aspersion_n of_o obscurity_n and_o uncertainty_n upon_o the_o holy_a scripture_n in_o matter_n of_o humane_a interest_n it_o may_v be_v reasonable_o dispute_v which_o be_v the_o more_o blame-worthy_a whether_o worship_n god_n if_o our_o church_n have_v thus_o be_v our_o mistress_n to_o bring_v we_o unto_o piety_n then_o much_o more_o ought_v she_o to_o be_v our_o mother_n to_o keep_v we_o in_o our_o duty_n
