they_o grant_v such_o a_o imposition_n lawful_a therefore_o it_o must_v lie_v on_o those_o that_o separate_a although_o they_o judge_v such_o term_n of_o communion_n sinful_a if_o therefore_o the_o determination_n of_o other_o thing_n not_o forbid_v be_v real_o as_o much_o in_o the_o magistrate_n and_o church_n power_n as_o the_o necessary_a circumstance_n of_o time_n and_o place_n etc._n etc._n then_o man_n apprehend_v such_o term_n of_o communion_n to_o be_v sinful_a will_v not_o hinder_v the_o guilt_n of_o separation_n from_o lie_v on_o their_o side_n and_o not_o on_o the_o imposer_n because_o it_o be_v to_o be_v suppose_v that_o where_o there_o be_v no_o plain_a prohibition_n man_n may_v with_o ordinary_a care_n and_o judgement_n satisfy_v themselves_o of_o the_o lawfulness_n of_o thing_n require_v as_o for_o instance_n when_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n impose_v the_o worship_n of_o image_n we_o have_v the_o plain_a prohibition_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n to_o prove_v that_o it_o be_v real_o a_o sinful_a condition_n of_o communion_n but_o when_o our_o church_n require_v the_o constant_a use_n of_o a_o liturgy_n and_o ceremony_n which_o be_v now_o plead_v as_o sinful_a condition_n of_o communion_n where_o be_v the_o prohibition_n in_o the_o same_o second_o commandment_n say_v some_o i_o desire_v they_o to_o read_v it_o over_o to_o i_o they_o do_v so_o where_o say_v i_o be_v the_o word_n that_o forbid_v a_o liturgy_n or_o ceremony_n i_o be_o mistake_v they_o tell_v i_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o word_n but_o in_o the_o sense_n i_o ask_v how_o we_o shall_v come_v by_o the_o sense_n but_o from_o the_o word_n yes_o they_o say_v there_o be_v certain_a rule_n for_o interpret_n the_o commandment_n be_v they_o divine_a or_o human_n where_o be_v they_o worship_n god_n without_o a_o image_n what_o be_v there_o more_o yes_o say_v they_o 1._o that_o we_o must_v not_o worship_n god_n with_o our_o own_o invention_n now_o liturgy_n and_o ceremony_n be_v man_n invention_n but_o i_o say_v no_o invention_n be_v condemn_v in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n but_o such_o as_o god_n himself_o have_v somewhere_o forbid_v but_o he_o have_v no_o where_o forbid_v these_o and_o human_a invention_n be_v forbid_v in_o this_o commandment_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n but_o then_o 1_o they_o be_v such_o invention_n which_o go_v about_o to_o represent_v god_n and_o so_o to_o disparage_v he_o and_o no_o other_o invention_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v than_o the_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n do_v extend_v to_o i.e._n not_o such_o which_o be_v consistent_a with_o the_o spiritual_a and_o invisible_a nature_n of_o god_n 2._o they_o be_v not_o such_o as_o do_v relate_v to_o the_o manner_n or_o form_n of_o worship_n suppose_v the_o worship_n itself_o be_v perform_v in_o a_o way_n agreeable_a to_o the_o divine_a nature_n and_o law_n for_o otherwise_o all_o use_n of_o man_n invention_n as_o to_o preach_v or_o read_v or_o interpret_n scripture_n will_v be_v forbid_v and_o then_o this_o interpretation_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n will_v be_v unlawful_a because_o it_o be_v a_o mere_a invention_n of_o man_n as_o much_o as_o liturgy_n or_o ceremony_n by_o this_o we_o see_v what_o stretch_v and_o force_v of_o scripture_n there_o must_v be_v to_o make_v liturgy_n or_o ceremony_n unlawful_a term_n of_o communion_n and_o that_o man_n must_v first_o blind_v and_o fetter_v their_o mind_n by_o certain_a prejudices_fw-la of_o education_n or_o read_v only_o one_o sort_n of_o book_n and_o take_v some_o thing_n for_o grant_v which_o they_o ought_v not_o before_o they_o can_v esteem_v the_o term_n of_o communion_n require_v by_o our_o church_n to_o be_v sinful_a and_o therefore_o the_o schism_n do_v not_o lie_v on_o the_o imposer_n side_n but_o upon_o those_o who_o suffer_v themselves_o first_o to_o be_v so_o easy_o delude_v and_o then_o separate_a from_o our_o church_n upon_o it_o but_o there_o be_v another_o plain_a instance_n in_o this_o case_n wherein_o our_o brethren_n themselves_o will_v not_o allow_v the_o schism_n to_o lie_v on_o the_o imposer_n side_n and_o that_o be_v of_o those_o who_o deny_v the_o lawfulness_n of_o infant-baptism_n many_o of_o who_o pretend_v to_o do_v it_o with_o as_o much_o sincerity_n and_o impartiality_n as_o any_o of_o our_o brethren_n can_v deny_v the_o lawfulness_n of_o liturgy_n or_o ceremony_n if_o they_o break_v communion_n rather_o than_o allow_v what_o they_o judge_v to_o be_v sinful_a on_o who_o side_n do_v the_o schism_n lie_v on_o they_o that_o require_v the_o allowance_n of_o it_o as_o a_o condition_n of_o communion_n or_o not_o if_o on_o the_o imposer_n side_n they_o must_v condemn_v themselves_o who_o blame_v the_o anabaptist_n for_o their_o separation_n and_o so_o do_v fr._n johnson_n and_o so_o do_v the_o new-england_n church_n from_o whence_o it_o appear_v that_o they_o do_v all_o agree_v that_o where_o man_n through_o mistake_n do_v judge_v
