a_o murmur_a because_o the_o widow_n of_o the_o grecian_n be_v neglect_v in_o the_o daily_a ministration_n therefore_o there_o be_v elect_v by_o the_o advice_n of_o the_o apostle_n man_n who_o shall_v make_v it_o their_o work_n to_o serve_v the_o poor_a that_o so_o the_o apostle_n may_v give_v themselves_o continual_o to_o prayer_n &_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n and_o this_o have_v be_v keep_v from_o that_o time_n forward_o in_o the_o church_n as_o do_v appear_v rom._n 12._o where_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o this_o office_n say_v that_o those_o who_o distribute_v shall_v do_v it_o with_o sincerity_n and_o 1_o cor._n 12._o speak_v of_o helper_n he_o do_v thereby_o understand_v those_o who_o be_v ordain_v by_o the_o church_n to_o help_v the_o poor_a in_o their_o necessity_n out_o of_o which_o place_n it_o do_v sufficient_o appear_v what_o belong_v to_o the_o office_n of_o the_o deacon_n namely_o first_o that_o they_o collect_v and_o keep_v with_o all_o faithfulness_n and_o second_o part_n of_o their_o office_n consist_v in_o the_o distribution_n wherein_o be_v not_o only_o require_v discretion_n and_o prudence_n to_o give_v the_o alm_n to_o none_o but_o where_o there_o be_v need_n but_o also_o simplicity_n and_o cheerfulness_n to_o distribute_v the_o alm_n with_o a_o hearty_a affection_n to_o the_o poor_a according_a to_o that_o of_o the_o apostle_n rom._n 12._o 1_o cor._n 12._o for_o which_o end_n it_o be_v necessary_a that_o they_o do_v not_o only_o relieve_v the_o poor_a with_o outward_a gift_n but_o also_o with_o comfortable_a word_n out_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god._n to_o the_o end_n therefore_o belove_a brethren_n n._n n._n that_o every_o one_o may_v see_v that_o you_o be_v willing_a to_o take_v upon_o you_o the_o forename_a office_n every_o one_o in_o his_o place_n you_o shall_v give_v answer_n to_o that_o which_o shall_v be_v propound_v unto_o you_o first_o i_o ask_v you_o both_o elder_n and_o deacon_n whether_o you_o do_v not_o feel_v in_o your_o heart_n that_o you_o be_v lawful_o call_v to_o these_o holy_a office_n each_o to_o he_o by_o the_o church_n and_o consequent_o by_o god_n himself_o second_o whether_o you_o hold_v the_o scripture_n of_o the_o old_a and_o new_a testament_n to_o be_v the_o only_a word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o perfect_a doctrine_n to_o salvation_n reject_v all_o doctrine_n which_o be_v repugnant_a to_o the_o same_o three_o whether_o you_o promise_v to_o perform_v your_o office_n as_o they_o have_v be_v now_o describe_v with_o all_o faithfulness_n according_a to_o your_o power_n you_o elder_n n._n n._n in_o the_o government_n of_o the_o church_n with_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n and_o you_o deacon_n n_n n_n in_o the_o minister_a to_o the_o poor_a further_o do_v you_o promise_v both_o together_o to_o carry_v yourselves_o in_o all_o godliness_n submit_v yourselves_o also_o to_o the_o admonition_n of_o the_o church_n in_o case_n you_o shall_v come_v to_o miscarry_v hereupon_o you_o shall_v answer_v yea._n whereupon_o the_o minister_n shall_v say_v the_o almighty_a god_n and_o father_n give_v unto_o you_o all_o his_o grace_n that_o you_o may_v walk_v in_o these_o your_o office_n faithful_o and_o fruitful_o amen_n and_o shall_v further_o admonish_v they_o as_o also_o the_o whole_a church_n in_o this_o follow_a manner_n wherefore_o you_o elder_n be_v diligent_a in_o govern_v the_o church_n which_o with_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n be_v commit_v unto_o you_o be_v also_o watchman_n over_o the_o house_n and_o city_n of_o god_n to_o admonish_v every_o one_o faithful_o and_o to_o warn_v they_o of_o their_o perdition_n take_v heed_n that_o the_o purity_n of_o doctrine_n and_o godliness_n of_o life_n be_v maintain_v in_o the_o church_n and_o you_o deacon_n be_v diligent_a in_o collect_v of_o the_o alm_n prudent_a and_o cheerful_a in_o distribute_v of_o the_o same_o assist_v the_o oppress_a relieve_v the_o true_a widow_n and_o orphan_n show_v mercifulnesse_n to_o all_o but_o especial_o to_o the_o household_n of_o faith._n be_v you_o all_o faithful_a in_o your_o office_n and_o keep_v the_o mystery_n of_o faith_n in_o a_o pure_a conscience_n and_o be_v good_a example_n in_o all_o thing_n to_o the_o people_n in_o so_o do_v you_o shall_v get_v to_o yourselves_o a_o good_a degree_n and_o much_o cheerfulness_n in_o the_o faith_n of_o christ_n and_o hereafter_o enter_v into_o your_o master_n joy_n on_o the_o other_o side_n belove_a christian_n receive_v these_o person_n as_o servant_n of_o christ_n count_v the_o elder_n who_o discharge_v well_o their_o office_n worthy_a of_o double_a honour_n give_v yourselves_o willing_o to_o their_o oversight_n and_o government_n provide_v good_a mean_n for_o the_o deacon_n to_o the_o relief_n of_o the_o poor_a be_v liberal_a you_o rich_a give_v thanckful_o and_o contribute_v willing_o and_o you_o poor_a be_v poor_a in_o spirit_n and_o carry_v
