subject_v in_o order_n to_o the_o fill_v up_o the_o measure_n of_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n therefore_o you_o must_v not_o think_v to_o make_v we_o believe_v that_o the_o extraordinary_a gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v not_o essential_a to_o that_o kind_n of_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n act_n 8._o and_o the_o 19_o because_o it_o be_v not_o essential_a to_o that_o contrary_a kind_n of_o subjection_n to_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n hebr._n 6.2_o neither_o because_o it_o be_v not_o essential_a to_o preach_v and_o some_o kind_n of_o prayer_n for_o indeed_o preach_v and_o some_o kind_n of_o prayer_n be_v never_o appoint_v to_o be_v instrumental_a for_o give_v the_o extraordinary_a gift_n the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o the_o proper_a effect_n of_o preach_v be_v to_o convey_v the_o ordinary_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n as_o enlighten_v and_o many_o other_o comfortable_a reception_n so_o that_o though_o the_o extraordinary_a gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v not_o essential_a to_o preach_v it_o never_o be_v appoint_v as_o the_o mean_n through_o which_o this_o gift_n shall_v be_v give_v yet_o they_o may_v be_v and_o be_v essential_a to_o that_o kind_n of_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n through_o which_o they_o be_v give_v and_o never_o fail_v as_o act_v the_o 8._o &_o act_v the_o 19_o the_o scripture_n speak_v but_o of_o those_o two_o time_n that_o this_o sort_n of_o lay_v of_o hand_n be_v use_v so_o that_o i_o wonder_v that_o you_o shall_v say_v as_o you_o do_v viz._n that_o we_o may_v no_o more_o tie_v up_o the_o reception_n of_o the_o extraordinary_a gift_n the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n than_o we_o may_v to_o preach_v the_o word_n because_o as_o you_o say_v the_o extraordinary_a gift_n the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v attend_v preach_v as_o well_o as_o lay_v on_o hand_n and_o this_o you_o say_v though_o you_o may_v see_v act_n the_o 8._o &_o the_o 10._o this_o gift_n the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v give_v through_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n but_o though_o we_o find_v act_n the_o 19_o this_o gift_n be_v give_v when_o they_o be_v at_o preach_v yet_o never_o through_o preach_v and_o whereas_o you_o say_v the_o extraordinary_a gift_n the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v confirm_v lay_v on_o of_o hand_n act_v the_o 8._o as_o well_o as_o it_o do_v preach_v act_n the_o 10._o i_o answer_v it_o do_v confirm_v lay_v on_o of_o hand_n act_v the_o 8._o so_o as_o to_o bespeak_v the_o lawfulness_n of_o the_o use_n of_o that_o mean_n be_v use_v in_o order_n to_o the_o same_o end_n viz._n receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o so_o do_v miraculous_a heal_n confirm_v or_o bespeak_v the_o lawful_a use_n of_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n to_o that_o end_n viz._n to_o heal_v but_o again_o it_o be_v true_a and_o you_o confess_v it_o in_o the_o 6._o page_n of_o your_o book_n that_o the_o nonbeing_a of_o the_o gift_n of_o heal_v in_o the_o church_n do_v bespeak_v the_o uselessness_n of_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n to_o that_o end_n viz._n to_o heal_v and_o so_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n i_o shall_v affirm_v that_o the_o nonbeing_a of_o power_n in_o the_o church_n instrumental_o through_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n to_o give_v the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v bespeak_v the_o uselessness_n of_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n to_o that_o end_n and_o so_o i_o conclude_v that_o though_o god_n have_v the_o same_o power_n now_o as_o he_o have_v then_o yet_o if_o in_o his_o wisdom_n he_o see_v it_o no●_n convenient_a to_o will_v the_o give_v of_o the_o same_o gift_n now_o as_o he_o do_v then_o his_o power_n do_v not_o accomplish_v it_o for_o his_o power_n do_v act_n suitable_a to_o his_o will_n for_o if_o in_o his_o will_n he_o do_v not_o determine_v a_o thing_n then_o by_o his_o power_n he_o do_v not_o effect_v it_o and_o so_o he_o divide_v to_o every_o one_o several_o as_o he_o will_v 1_o cor._n 12.11_o and_o when_o in_o his_o wisdom_n he_o see_v it_o convenient_a to_o give_v those_o glorious_a gift_n into_o his_o church_n as_o he_o do_v former_o he_o can_v again_o begin_v the_o dispensation_n of_o they_o without_o the_o use_n of_o outward_a instrument_n as_o he_o do_v at_o the_o first_o to_o the_o apostle_n act_n 2.1_o 2_o 3_o 4._o and_o as_o to_o the_o thing_n you_o call_v effect_n of_o your_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n viz._n as_o you_o say_v a_o most_o sweet_a and_o precrous_a communion_n and_o a_o delightful_a fellowship_n in_o the_o gospel_n second_o more_o of_o the_o manifestation_n of_o god_n spirit_n to_o their_o soul_n three_o to_o be_v further_o strengthen_v in_o god_n way_n for_o your_o first_o effect_n viz._n a_o most_o sweet_a and_o precious_a communion_n you_o instance_n in_o those_o act_v the_o 2.41_o 42_o 46._o in_o which_o place_n there_o be_v not_o one_o word_n mention_v that_o ever_o they_o have_v hand_n lay_v on_o they_o and_o therefore_o though_o they_o have_v a_o sweet_a communion_n yet_o it_o do_v not_o arise_v from_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n and_o as_o for_o these_o three_o particular_n which_o you_o call_v effect_n you_o may_v more_o proper_o have_v lay_v they_o down_o as_o three_o more_o end_n which_o though_o they_o be_v propound_v before_o hand_n yet_o for_o such_o be_v the_o same_o with_o effect_n and_o then_o though_o you_o have_v not_o attain_v to_o they_o yet_o at_o the_o least_o we_o shall_v have_v think_v you_o shall_v have_v desire_v they_o but_o now_o you_o have_v lay_v they_o down_o as_o effect_n what_o ever_o you_o may_v say_v i_o with_o many_o other_o can_v from_o sad_a experience_n testify_v that_o in_o instead_o of_o a_o sweet_a and_o real_a communion_n in_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n your_o kind_n of_o lay_v on_o of_o hand_n have_v effect_v nothing_o but_o a_o unsavoury_a outside_n communion_n and_o have_v furnish_v
