that_o particular_a case_n into_o a_o general_a rule_n in_o these_o word_n for_o whatsoever_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n be_v sin_n by_o the_o process_n of_o which_o his_o discourse_n it_o may_v appear_v that_o by_o faith_n no_o other_o thing_n be_v here_o mean_v than_o such_o a_o persuasion_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o conscience_n as_o we_o have_v now_o declare_v and_o that_o the_o true_a purport_n and_o intent_n of_o these_o word_n be_v but_o thus_o much_o in_o effect_n whosoever_o shall_v enterprise_v the_o do_v of_o any_o thing_n which_o he_o very_o believe_v to_o be_v unlawful_a or_o at_o leastwise_o be_v not_o reasonable_o well_o persuade_v of_o the_o lawfulness_n of_o it_o let_v the_o thing_n be_v otherwise_o and_o in_o itself_o what_o it_o can_v be_v lawful_a or_o unlawful_a of_o themselves_o or_o in_o the_o far_a explication_n of_o the_o meaning_n of_o the_o text_n which_o already_o appear_v but_o address_v myself_o rather_o to_o the_o application_n of_o it_o wherein_o because_o upon_o this_o great_a principle_n may_v depend_v the_o resolution_n of_o very_a many_o case_n of_o conscience_n which_o may_v trouble_v we_o in_o our_o christian_a and_o holy_a walk_n it_o will_v not_o be_v unprofitable_a to_o proceed_v by_o resolve_v some_o of_o the_o most_o material_a doubt_n and_o question_n among_o those_o which_o have_v occur_v unto_o my_o thcught_n by_o occasion_n of_o this_o text_n in_o my_o meditation_n thereon_o first_o it_o may_v be_v demand_v what_o power_n the_o conscience_n have_v to_o make_v a_o thing_n otherwise_o good_a and_o lawful_a resolve_v to_o become_v unlawful_a and_o sinful_a and_o whence_o it_o have_v that_o power_n i_o answer_v first_o that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o power_n of_o any_o man_n judgement_n or_o conscience_n to_o alter_v the_o natural_a condition_n of_o any_o thing_n whatsoever_o either_o in_o respect_n of_o quality_n or_o degree_n but_o that_o still_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a remain_v good_a and_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v evil_a remain_v evil_a and_o that_o in_o the_o very_a same_o degree_n of_o good_a or_o evil_a as_o it_o be_v before_o neither_o
