mean_n but_o in_o the_o due_a and_o frequent_a use_n of_o they_o as_o in_o read_v hear_v and_o meditate_v upon_o what_o have_v be_v read_v or_o hear_v now_o this_o sort_n of_o inward_a teach_v and_o agreement_n of_o the_o inward_a with_o the_o outward_a for_o certain_o if_o the_o persuasion_n that_o any_o man_n have_v contradict_v the_o plain_a direction_n and_o institution_n give_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n they_o be_v not_o of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n whatever_o appearance_n they_o may_v seem_v to_o have_v of_o power_n or_o evidence_n the_o joint_a concurrence_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n within_o and_o the_o instrumental_a and_o subordinate_a help_n of_o the_o scripture_n without_o give_v we_o to_o help_v our_o weakness_n may_v be_v compare_v to_o the_o natural_a light_n of_o the_o sun_n or_o candle_n that_o we_o read_v with_o in_o some_o sort_n though_o this_o and_o all_o other_o similitude_n fall_v short_a of_o a_o full_a illustration_n for_o as_o we_o can_v read_v without_o the_o light_n though_o the_o book_n lie_v open_a before_o we_o so_o when_o the_o light_n shine_v yet_o it_o will_v not_o teach_v we_o what_o be_v in_o the_o book_n unless_o we_o look_v on_o it_o and_o also_o be_v teach_v to_o read_v in_o it_o even_o so_o the_o light_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n shine_v upon_o the_o idea_n and_o perception_n of_o our_o mind_n as_o convey_v to_o we_o by_o what_o we_o have_v hear_v or_o read_v out_o of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n open_v to_o we_o the_o true_a hide_a sense_n and_o truth_n of_o they_o with_o life_n and_o power_n and_o great_a inward_a clearness_n and_o evidence_n joy_n and_o satisfaction_n and_o thus_o if_o we_o find_v that_o the_o spirit_n illumination_n work_v in_o our_o heart_n and_o mind_n a_o assent_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o and_o suffering_n which_o all_o true_a believer_n in_o christ_n ought_v to_o have_v fresh_a and_o lively_a in_o their_o mind_n to_o which_o the_o outward_a practice_n both_o of_o baptism_n and_o the_o supper_n be_v of_o great_a use_n and_o the_o more_o frequent_a the_o practice_n of_o the_o supper_n be_v be_v due_o use_v as_o with_o faith_n reverence_n and_o devotion_n the_o more_o profitable_a
