much_o differ_v upon_o the_o point_n and_o yet_o i_o do_v not_o know_v any_o of_o all_o the_o teacher_n in_o this_o country_n that_o withdraw_v their_o consent_n from_o this_o doctrine_n that_o such_o sanctification_n as_o be_v wrought_v in_o hypocrite_n though_o that_o it_o may_v reach_v to_o great_a improvement_n yet_o it_o be_v no_o evidence_n of_o justification_n at_o all_o it_o have_v be_v the_o lord_n jesus_n have_v dear_o pay_v for_o by_o suffer_v his_o father_n wrath_n which_o do_v so_o drink_v up_o his_o spirit_n that_o i_o believe_v he_o die_v not_o by_o the_o pain_n of_o his_o body_n for_o he_o die_v before_o his_o time_n but_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n do_v swallow_v he_o up_o principal_o though_o his_o bodily_a pain_n do_v help_v it_o forward_o now_o by_o this_o mean_v of_o itself_o that_o be_v able_a to_o beget_v such_o faith_n if_o there_o be_v any_o it_o be_v but_o a_o historical_a faith_n a_o dead_a faith_n that_o be_v not_o able_a to_o bring_v the_o soul_n near_o to_o god_n i_o beseech_v you_o therefore_o consider_v of_o it_o as_o a_o mystery_n of_o god_n indeed_o yet_o marvellous_a plain_n in_o scripture_n as_o i_o conceive_v that_o neither_o the_o this_o revelation_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o show_v you_o the_o need_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o lord_n offer_v and_o present_v christ_n unto_o you_o and_o his_o draw_v your_o heart_n to_o believe_v upon_o he_o otherwise_o you_o neither_o can_v have_v any_o faith_n nor_o can_v you_o discern_v any_o gift_n of_o god_n bestow_v upon_o you_o in_o the_o second_o place_n use_v 2_o let_v this_o teach_v and_o exhort_v we_o not_o to_o look_v for_o any_o revelation_n out_o of_o the_o word_n for_o

jesus_n yea_o say_v they_o one_o mediator_n of_o redemption_n but_o many_o of_o intercession_n whereas_o mind_n you_o it_o be_v the_o work_n of_o a_o mediator_n not_o only_o to_o do_v that_o which_o may_v prevail_v for_o the_o obtain_n of_o peace_n but_o he_o must_v apply_v it_o also_o or_o else_o he_o have_v not_o bring_v we_o unto_o union_n and_o communion_n with_o the_o father_n and_o when_o they_o make_v intercession_n unto_o angel_n for_o the_o virtue_n and_o merit_n of_o their_o prayer_n it_o do_v evacuate_v the_o mediation_n of_o jesus_n christ_n for_o bring_v in_o other_o mediator_n and_o you_o weaken_v he_o in_o his_o office_n a_o sign_n they_o trust_v not_o in_o he_o and_o therefore_o be_v accurse_v when_o they_o put_v confidence_n in_o other_o thing_n jer._n 17.5_o but_o you_o will_v say_v answ_n do_v we_o not_o pray_v the_o saint_n on_o earth_n to_o pray_v for_o we_o it_o be_v true_a we_o do_v so_o object_n and_o christ_n have_v bid_v we_o and_o give_v we_o pattern_n to_o pray_v one_o for_o another_o but_o if_o we_o in_o this_o country_n shall_v pray_v to_o a_o friend_n in_o england_n to_o pray_v for_o we_o it_o be_v idolatry_n paul_n indeed_o do_v write_v unto_o the_o blessing_n from_o jesus_n christ_n even_o then_o when_o we_o beg_v the_o prayer_n of_o our_o friend_n when_o as_o god_n be_v angry_a with_o the_o friend_n of_o job_n because_o they_o false_o accuse_v job_n chap._n 42.7_o 8._o he_o bid_v they_o take_v a_o sacrifice_n and_o go_v to_o job_n and_o he_o shall_v pray_v for_o you_o for_o he_o will_v i_o accept_v but_o must_v they_o now_o trust_v upon_o as_o such_o a_o christian_a can_v than_o i_o know_v the_o lord_n will_v accept_v i_o this_o may_v be_v a_o piece_n of_o refine_a popery_n but_o it_o be_v popery_n at_o the_o very_a bottom_n if_o we_o look_v unto_o our_o grace_n or_o duty_n to_o bring_v we_o unto_o union_n with_o christ_n or_o if_o we_o think_v that_o by_o the_o right_n of_o they_o communion_n shall_v be_v maintain_v we_o have_v forget_v our_o mediator_n jesus_n christ_n god_n and_o man_n for_o if_o he_o be_v our_o mediator_n he_o do_v work_v both_o these_o for_o we_o these_o thing_n can_v bring_v we_o unto_o christ_n for_o they_o all_o flow_v from_o he_o if_o therefore_o we_o have_v no_o other_o union_n with_o christ_n then_o that_o which_o flow_v from_o they_o we_o be_v not_o unite_v unto_o this_o very_a day_n but_o you_o will_v say_v can_v our_o gift_n and_o work_n maintain_v this_o union_n when_o it_o be_v true_a if_o they_o can_v uphold_v it_o they_o be_v in_o part_n mediator_n that_o they_o do_v uphold_v it_o by_o merit_n no_o protestant_n will_v say_v neither_o be_v there_o any_o right_n or_o power_n in_o they_o to_o do_v this_o and_o therefore_o to_o trust_v in_o they_o be_v to_o put_v confidence_n in_o the_o arm_n of_o flesh_n and_o though_o it_o be_v not_o so_o gross_a as_o popery_n yet_o it_o tend_v unto_o the_o like_a dishonour_n of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v a_o faithful_a say_n of_o the_o apostle_n peter_n and_o worthy_a of_o all_o acceptation_n when_o they_o see_v the_o people_n ready_a to_o attribute_n much_o unto_o their_o holiness_n act_v 3.12_o etc._n etc._n you_o man_n of_o
