be_v useful_a to_o saint_n first_o to_o exhort_v saint_n to_o eye_n christ_n as_o their_o life_n joh._n 6.15_o i_o be_o the_o live_a bread_n which_o come_v down_o from_o heaven_n if_o any_o man_n eat_v of_o this_o bread_n he_o shall_v live_v for_o ever_o so_o our_o saviour_n again_o in_o joh._n 14.19_o because_o i_o live_v you_o shall_v live_v also_o in_o both_o place_n christ_n speak_v our_o the_o original_a love_n of_o god_n in_o make_v christ_n to_o be_v our_o interest_n of_o life_n he_o hold_v forth_o christ_n as_o he_o be_v wound_v for_o our_o transgression_n bruise_v for_o our_o iniquity_n the_o chastisement_n of_o our_o peace_n lay_v on_o he_o so_o that_o with_o his_o stripe_n we_o be_v heal_v god_n make_v christ_n soul_n a_o offering_n for_o sin_n and_o in_o the_o behold_n contrary_a when_o we_o will_v not_o rest_v on_o christ_n whole_o as_o our_o life_n till_o we_o have_v wrought_v up_o some_o qualification_n in_o ourselves_o we_o deny_v this_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o our_o like_a to_o be_v from_o freegrace_n the_o text_n speak_v plain_o it_o be_v of_o grace_n that_o we_o be_v save_v oh_o let_v god_n have_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o grace_n for_o the_o life_n of_o our_o soul_n lie_v in_o it_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n to_o enjoy_v interest_n in_o christ_n but_o to_o lay_v hand_n on_o he_o as_o the_o gift_n of_o grace_n and_o it_o appear_v that_o a_o christlesse_a soul_n be_v a_o dead_a soul_n be_v it_o better_a to_o be_v dead_a soul_n then_o to_o have_v life_n mere_o from_o grace_n if_o not_o oh_o then_o honour_n grace_n let_v christ_n be_v our_o life_n though_o we_o be_v whole_o dead_a in_o ourselves_o yet_o cast_v thyself_o upon_o christ_n as_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n freegrace_n for_o thy_o life_n but_o in_o the_o last_o place_n if_o christ_n be_v only_o a_o saint_n life_n and_o a_o saint_n enjoy_v this_o as_o he_o live_v upon_o christ_n in_o the_o spirit_n then_o let_v this_o teach_v we_o always_o at_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n to_o be_v plead_v the_o promise_n of_o the_o father_n &_o the_o son_n to_o power_n out_o the_o holy_a spirit_n upon_o we_o and_o not_o rest_v satisfy_v without_o the_o spirit_n in_o any_o or_o in_o all_o external_o not_o in_o a_o bare_a literal_a knowledge_n no_o nor_o a_o christ_n only_o in_o the_o flesh_n but_o only_o to_o know_v god_n and_o christ_n and_o to_o live_v on_o they_o in_o the_o spirit_n to_o know_v truth_n as_o they_o be_v in_o jesus_n be_v to_o know_v they_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o jesus_n and_o this_o be_v our_o saviour_n own_o promise_n john_n 14.26_o that_o when_o the_o comforter_n which_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n come_v he_o shall_v teach_v you_o all_o thing_n we_o be_v therefore_o seek_v something_o below_o christ_n and_o so_o apt_a to_o deify_v a_o form_n find_v saint_n in_o this_o frame_n complain_v of_o self_n and_o admire_v of_o god_n condemn_v of_o self_n and_o justify_v of_o god_n the_o remainder_n of_o the_o old_a man_n in_o i_o that_o be_v myself_o my_o flesh_n say_v a_o saint_n but_o the_o new_a creature_n that_o be_v christ_n in_o i_o the_o hope_n of_o glory_n that_o be_v the_o king_n of_o glory_n come_v into_o my_o soul_n and_o and_o not_o to_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n as_o those_o dead_a bone_n can_v not_o live_v before_o god_n have_v unite_v they_o cover_v they_o with_o skin_n and_o breathe_v life_n into_o they_o for_o testimony_n to_o this_o truth_n take_v in_o the_o apostle_n paul_n in_o rom._n 8.10_o and_o if_o christ_n be_v in_o you_o the_o body_n be_v dead_a because_o of_o sin_n but_o the_o spirit_n be_v life_n because_o of_o righteousness_n he_o give_v we_o this_o truth_n as_o it_o be_v upon_o his_o experience_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v i_o have_v find_v this_o that_o ever_o since_o i_o have_v be_v in_o union_n with_o christ_n the_o body_n of_o sin_n have_v be_v a_o die_a &_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n have_v carry_v i_o forth_o to_o the_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n i_o be_o dead_a now_o to_o the_o he_o make_v life_n where_o ever_o he_o come_v and_o the_o life_n he_o bring_v be_v heavenly_a christ_n make_v the_o new_a creature_n &_o therefore_o can_v never_o be_v without_o the_o new_a creature_n what_o have_v its_o be_v from_o christ_n can_v be_v without_o christ_n now_o the_o new_a creature_n have_v its_o be_v from_o christ_n it_o can_v not_o be_v but_o in_o christ_n and_o by_o christ_n so_o as_o know_v he_o not_o do_v blaspheme_v and_o scoff_n at_o he_o in_o scoff_v at_o his_o spirit_n in_o his_o people_n yet_o saint_n in_o truth_n will_v tell_v you_o that_o they_o in_o themselves_o be_v darkness_n and_o god_n be_v only_a light_n and_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o they_o that_o be_v their_o light_n that_o they_o know_v
now_o fear_v of_o death_n be_v no_o less_o than_o diffidence_n of_o that_o redemption_n therefore_o saint_n shall_v be_v very_o watchful_a that_o they_o harbour_v no_o sad_a nor_o hard_a thought_n of_o death_n because_o in_o so_o do_v we_o dishonour_v a_o true_a friend_n nay_o christ_n that_o make_v death_n thus_o to_o be_v our_o friend_n in_o the_o next_o place_n this_o call_v upon_o saint_n welcome_a as_o a_o friend_n for_o christ_n be_v in_o he_o and_o the_o love_n of_o christ_n when_o christ_n take_v sin_n from_o saint_n which_o be_v the_o sting_n of_o death_n he_o give_v they_o love_n in_o the_o room_n of_o sin_n so_o as_o before_o we_o have_v sin_n in_o all_o now_o we_o have_v love_n in_o all_o and_o though_o death_n to_o saint_n have_v not_o the_o sting_n of_o sin_n yet_o it_o have_v the_o love_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v bid_v welcome_a and_o entertain_v with_o gladness_n when_o he_o come_v but_o in_o the_o next_o place_n this_o call_v loud_a to_o saint_n what_o shall_v we_o fear_v death_n be_v our_o friend_n the_o love_n of_o christ_n have_v make_v he_o so_o the_o break_n forth_o of_o this_o love_n be_v ground_n sufficient_a to_o banish_v all_o fear_n
