star_n be_v darken_v which_o seem_v to_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o spiritual_a darkness_n shall_v be_v upon_o the_o earth_n for_o hitherto_o the_o plague_n that_o have_v be_v set_v down_o have_v be_v corporal_a to_o wit_n either_o pertain_v to_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o nourishment_n of_o the_o body_n of_o man_n or_o upon_o the_o body_n themselves_o those_o that_o follow_v in_o the_o rest_n of_o this_o and_o the_o next_o chapter_n seem_v to_o be_v understand_v of_o the_o spiritual_a plague_n of_o the_o soul_n that_o the_o light_n thereof_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o man_n shall_v very_o much_o be_v darken_v for_o i_o can_v see_v how_o those_o word_n concern_v the_o darken_n of_o the_o sun_n and_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n can_v literal_o be_v understand_v but_o rather_o by_o some_o allegory_n because_o in_o the_o next_o chapter_n verse_n 2._o it_o be_v speak_v of_o the_o darkness_n of_o the_o sun_n that_o it_o be_v altogether_o darken_v note_v the_o deprivation_n of_o all_o the_o light_n and_o knowledge_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o therefore_o this_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v of_o the_o darkness_n of_o the_o mind_n through_o want_n of_o knowledge_n by_o take_v away_o of_o the_o truth_n in_o part_n as_o appeareth_z by_o the_o history_n for_o since_o that_o popery_n come_v in_o by_o mean_n of_o antichrist_n satan_n have_v wonderful_o darken_v the_o light_n of_o the_o loud_a voice_n woe_n woe_n woe_n to_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o earth_n for_o the_o plague_n which_o be_v to_o come_v for_o albeit_o those_o that_o
say_v not_o to_o have_v be_v hear_v in_o the_o street_n this_o be_v the_o first_o woe_n the_o two_o other_o woe_n be_v to_o come_v the_o other_o trumpet_n follow_v to_o be_v blow_v and_o first_o to_o declare_v the_o certainty_n of_o it_o he_o say_v there_o come_v a_o voice_n from_o the_o corner_n of_o the_o altar_n which_o be_v in_o the_o holy_a place_n which_o command_v that_o they_o shall_v four_o angel_n the_o executer_n and_o minister_n of_o god_n fearful_a judgement_n be_v prepare_v to_o go_v at_o a_o hour_n at_o a_o day_n at_o a_o month_n at_o a_o year_n note_v their_o readiness_n and_o promptness_n to_o execute_v any_o judgement_n that_o god_n set_v they_o about_o yea_o though_o they_o shall_v be_v send_v forth_o for_o a_o whole_a year_n long_o they_o will_v be_v willing_a kill_v and_o put_v to_o death_n by_o the_o wicked_a magistrate_n whereas_o before_o they_o have_v not_o power_n to_o hurt_v the_o body_n but_o only_o to_o sting_v the_o conscience_n of_o man_n these_o be_v describe_v to_o have_v head_n like_o lion_n note_v that_o they_o be_v fierce_a and_o cruel_a their_o tail_n like_o serpent_n signify_v their_o craft_n which_o show_v that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n shall_v promote_v her_o kingdom_n both_o by_o violence_n and_o also_o by_o their_o craft_n and_o subtlety_n last_o be_v set_v down_o a_o conclusion_n wherein_o be_v show_v that_o for_o all_o these_o fearful_a judgement_n the_o people_n of_o the_o earth_n whereas_o they_o shall_v have_v fear_v and_o have_v be_v better_v by_o these_o judgement_n and_o learned_a to_o turn_v unto_o god_n by_o repentance_n yet_o they_o continue_v unrepentant_a in_o their_o idolatry_n murder_n witchcraft_n and_o all_o other_o their_o abominable_a wickedness_n apoc._n cap._n 10._o 1._o and_o i_o see_v another_o mighty_a angel_n come_v down_o from_o heaven_n clothe_v with_o a_o cloud_n and_o the_o rainbow_n upon_o his_o head_n and_o his_o face_n be_v as_o the_o sun_n and_o his_o foot_n as_o pillar_n of_o fire_n etc._n etc._n we_o have_v hear_v after_o the_o preface_n of_o this_o book_n the_o division_n of_o it_o into_o those_o thing_n already_o execute_v and_o which_o be_v after_o to_o be_v execute_v those_o which_o be_v to_o come_v be_v either_o touch_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o world_n or_o those_o thing_n which_o more_o especial_o do_v concern_v the_o church_n hitherto_o we_o have_v hear_v of_o the_o world_n now_o the_o thing_n that_o more_o especial_o belong_v to_o the_o church_n do_v follow_v to_o the_o which_o in_o this_o chapter_n be_v as_o before_o a_o preface_n wherein_o the_o holy_a ghost_n prepare_v and_o fit_v the_o apostle_n saint_n john_n and_o in_o he_o all_o we_o to_o the_o diligent_a hear_n and_o observe_v of_o all_o those_o thing_n which_o concern_v the_o church_n the_o whole_a drift_n of_o this_o vision_n be_v to_o give_v credit_n to_o the_o history_n follow_v and_o this_o credit_n be_v draw_v first_o from_o the_o author_n of_o the_o prophecy_n which_o be_v christ_n and_o second_o from_o the_o instrument_n to_o wit_n john_n in_o the_o first_o part_n that_o the_o thing_n itself_o may_v be_v the_o better_o esteem_v the_o credit_n draw_v from_o the_o author_n be_v set_v forth_o by_o the_o glory_n and_o excellency_n of_o he_o in_o the_o second_o part_n john_n be_v set_v forth_o by_o what_o mean_n he_o come_v to_o this_o charge_n and_o slander_v we_o wrongful_o for_o we_o hold_v that_o as_o there_o be_v in_o the_o heaven_n infinite_a room_n for_o he_o to_o execute_v his_o will_n so_o he_o have_v the_o heaven_n as_o a_o incomprehensible_a place_n and_o be_v not_o tie_v and_o keep_v in_o as_o it_o be_v like_o a_o prisoner_n but_o be_v at_o his_o own_o pleasure_n to_o do_v what_o he_o will_v himself_o and_o this_o which_o we_o say_v be_v prove_v out_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o the_o act_n 1_o acts._n 1_o where_o we_o be_v teach_v that_o he_o must_v stay_v there_o till_o the_o latter_a day_n so_o that_o this_o sight_n be_v only_o a_o representation_n of_o the_o mind_n wherein_o it_o be_v give_v to_o see_v christ_n thus_o strong_a a_o proper_a title_n unto_o the_o lord_n to_o be_v the_o strong_a god_n signify_v that_o he_o be_v the_o mighty_a god_n and_o therefore_o this_o angel_n be_v of_o another_o nature_n than_o the_o other_o angel_n clad_v with_o a_o cloud_n that_o be_v to_o set_v out_o the_o
