be_v affect_v with_o it_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o we_o shall_v enjoy_v much_o ease_n or_o rest_n or_o happiness_n in_o this_o life_n when_o it_o be_v in_o the_o power_n of_o so_o many_o thousand_o contingency_n to_o rob_v we_o of_o it_o but_o our_o hope_n and_o comfort_n be_v that_o the_o time_n will_v short_o come_v when_o we_o shall_v be_v deliver_v from_o this_o burden_n of_o flesh_n when_o god_n shall_v wipe_v away_o all_o tear_n from_o our_o eye_n and_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o more_o death_n neither_o sorrow_n nor_o cry_v neither_o shall_v there_o be_v any_o more_o pain_n for_o the_o former_a thing_n be_v pass_v away_o when_o we_o shall_v hunger_n no_o more_o neither_o thirst_v any_o more_o neither_o shall_v the_o sun_n light_n on_o we_o nor_o any_o heat_n for_o the_o lamb_n which_o be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o throne_n shall_v feed_v we_o and_o shall_v lead_v we_o into_o live_a fountain_n of_o water_n oh_o when_o shall_v we_o arrive_v to_o those_o happy_a region_n where_o no_o complaint_n be_v ever_o hear_v where_o we_o shall_v all_o enjoy_v a_o constant_a and_o uninterrupted_a health_n and_o vigour_n both_o of_o body_n and_o mind_n and_o never_o more_o be_v expose_v to_o pinch_a frost_n or_o scorch_a heat_n or_o any_o of_o those_o inconvenience_n which_o incommode_v this_o present_a pilgrimage_n when_o we_o have_v once_o pass_v from_o death_n to_o life_n we_o shall_v be_v perfect_o ease_v of_o all_o that_o troublesome_a care_n of_o our_o body_n which_o now_o take_v up_o so_o much_o of_o our_o time_n and_o thought_n we_o shall_v be_v set_v free_a from_o all_o those_o tiresome_a labour_n and_o servile_a drudgery_n which_o here_o we_o be_v force_v to_o undergo_v for_o the_o maintenance_n and_o support_v of_o our_o life_n and_o shall_v enjoy_v a_o perfect_a health_n without_o be_v vex_v with_o any_o nauseous_a medicine_n or_o tedious_a course_n of_o physic_n for_o the_o preservation_n of_o it_o those_o robe_n of_o light_n and_o glory_n which_o we_o shall_v be_v clothe_v with_o at_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o just_a will_v not_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o those_o careful_a provision_n or_o crave_v those_o satisfaction_n which_o it_o be_v so_o grievous_a to_o we_o here_o either_o to_o procure_v or_o be_v without_o but_o they_o as_o our_o saviour_n tell_v we_o st._n luke_n 20._o verse_n 35_o 36._o which_o shall_v be_v account_v worthy_a to_o obtain_v that_o world_n and_o the_o resurrection_n from_o the_o dead_a neither_o marry_o nor_o be_v give_v in_o marriage_n neither_o can_v they_o die_v any_o more_o for_o they_o be_v 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d equal_a to_o angel_n they_o shall_v live_v such_o a_o life_n as_o the_o holy_a angel_n do_v whence_o tertullian_n call_v the_o body_n we_o shall_v have_v at_o the_o resurrection_n carnem_fw-la angelificatam_fw-la angelify_v flesh_n which_o shall_v neither_o be_v subject_a to_o those_o weakness_n and_o decay_n nor_o want_v that_o daily_a sustenance_n and_o continual_a recruit_v which_o these_o mortal_a body_n can_v subsist_v without_o meat_n for_o the_o belly_n and_o the_o belly_n for_o meat_n but_o god_n shall_v destroy_v both_o it_o and_o they_o this_o be_v that_o perfect_a and_o complete_a happiness_n which_o all_o good_a man_n shall_v enjoy_v in_o the_o other_o world_n which_o according_a to_o a_o heathen_a poet_n may_v be_v thus_o brief_o sum_v up_o mens_fw-la sana_fw-la in_o corpore_fw-la sano_fw-la a_o mind_n free_a from_o all_o trouble_n and_o guilt_n in_o a_o body_n free_a from_o all_o pain_n and_o disease_n thus_o our_o mortal_a body_n shall_v be_v raise_v immortal_a they_o shall_v not_o only_o by_o the_o power_n of_o god_n be_v always_o preserve_v from_o death_n for_o so_o the_o body_n we_o have_v now_o if_o god_n please_v may_v become_v immortal_a but_o the_o nature_n of_o they_o shall_v be_v so_o whole_o change_v and_o alter_v that_o they_o shall_v not_o retain_v the_o same_o seed_n or_o principle_n of_o mortality_n and_o corruption_n so_o that_o they_o who_o be_v once_o clothe_v with_o they_o as_o our_o saviour_n tell_v we_o can_v die_v any_o more_o 2._o our_o body_n shall_v be_v raise_v in_o glory_n then_o shall_v the_o righteous_a shine_n forth_o as_o the_o sun_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o their_o father_n matt._n 13.43_o our_o heavenly_a body_n in_o brightness_n and_o glory_n shall_v contend_v with_o the_o splendour_n of_o the_o sun_n itself_o a_o resemblance_n of_o this_o we_o have_v in_o the_o lustre_n of_o moses_n face_n which_o after_o he_o have_v converse_v with_o god_n in_o the_o mount_n do_v shine_v so_o glorious_o that_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n be_v afraid_a to_o come_v near_o he_o and_o therefore_o when_o he_o speak_v to_o they_o he_o be_v force_v to_o cast_v a_o veil_n over_o his_o face_n to_o cloud_n and_o eclipse_v the_o glory_n of_o it_o and_o that_o extraordinary_a and_o miraculous_a majesty_n of_o st._n stephen_n countenance_n seem_v to_o be_v a_o presage_n of_o that_o future_a glory_n which_o our_o heavenly_a body_n shall_v be_v clothe_v with_o act_v 6.15_o and_o all_o that_o sit_v in_o the_o council_n look_v steadfast_o on_o he_o see_v his_o face_n as_o it_o have_v be_v the_o face_n of_o a_o angel_n that_o be_v they_o see_v a_o great_a light_n and_o splendour_n about_o he_o and_o if_o the_o body_n of_o saint_n do_v sometime_o appear_v so_o glorious_a here_o on_o earth_n how_o will_v they_o shine_v and_o glitter_v in_o the_o other_o world_n when_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v like_o unto_o christ_n own_o glorious_a body_n for_o so_o st._n paul_n tell_v we_o that_o christ_n will_v fashion_v our_o vile_a body_n like_v unto_o his_o glorious_a body_n now_o how_o glorious_a and_o splendid_a the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v we_o may_v guess_v by_o the_o vision_n of_o the_o two_o great_a apostle_n st._n peter_n and_o st._n paul_n the_o former_a of_o they_o when_o he_o see_v the_o transfiguration_n of_o our_o saviour_n when_o his_o face_n do_v shine_v as_o the_o sun_n and_o his_o raiment_n become_v shine_v and_o white_a as_o snow_n be_v at_o the_o sight_n of_o it_o so_o transport_v and_o overcharge_v with_o joy_n and_o admiration_n that_o he_o be_v in_o a_o manner_n beside_o himself_o for_o he_o know_v not_o what_o he_o say_v when_o our_o saviour_n discover_v but_o a_o little_a of_o that_o glory_n which_o he_o now_o possess_v and_o will_v in_o due_a time_n communicate_v to_o his_o follower_n yet_o that_o little_a of_o it_o make_v the_o place_n seem_v a_o paradise_n and_o the_o disciple_n be_v so_o take_v with_o the_o sight_n of_o it_o that_o they_o think_v they_o can_v wish_v for_o nothing_o better_o than_o always_o to_o live_v in_o such_o pure_a light_n and_o enjoy_v so_o beautiful_a a_o sight_n it_o be_v good_a for_o we_o to_o be_v here_o let_v we_o make_v three_o tabernacle_n here_o let_v we_o fix_v and_o abide_v for_o ever_o and_o if_o they_o think_v this_o so_o great_a a_o happiness_n only_o to_o be_v where_o such_o heavenly_a body_n be_v present_a and_o to_o behold_v they_o with_o their_o eye_n how_o much_o great_a happiness_n must_v they_o enjoy_v who_o be_v admit_v to_o dwell_v in_o such_o glorious_a mansion_n and_o be_v themselves_o clothe_v with_o so_o much_o brightness_n and_o splendour_n the_o other_o appearance_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n after_o his_o ascension_n into_o heaven_n to_o st._n paul_n as_o he_o be_v travel_v to_o damascus_n be_v so_o glorious_a that_o it_o put_v out_o his_o eye_n his_o sense_n be_v not_o able_a to_o bear_v a_o light_n so_o refulgent_a such_o glorious_a creature_n will_v our_o lord_n make_v we_o all_o if_o we_o continue_v his_o faithful_a servant_n and_o follower_n and_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o wonderful_o change_v by_o the_o word_n of_o his_o power_n from_o what_o we_o be_v in_o this_o vile_a state_n that_o the_o body_n we_o now_o have_v will_v not_o be_v able_a so_o much_o as_o to_o bear_v the_o sight_n and_o presence_n of_o those_o body_n which_o shall_v be_v give_v we_o at_o the_o resurrection_n now_o this_o excellency_n of_o our_o heavenly_a body_n the_o schoolman_n fancy_n will_v arise_v in_o a_o great_a measure_n from_o the_o happiness_n of_o our_o soul_n the_o unspeakable_a joy_n and_o happiness_n which_o our_o soul_n shall_v then_o enjoy_v will_v break_v through_o our_o body_n and_o be_v conspicuous_a and_o shine_v forth_o in_o the_o brightness_n of_o our_o countenance_n and_o illustrate_v they_o with_o beauty_n and_o splendour_n as_o the_o joy_n of_o the_o soul_n even_o in_o this_o life_n have_v some_o influence_n upon_o the_o body_n and_o make_v a_o imperfect_a impression_n upon_o the_o countenance_n by_o render_v it_o more_o serene_a and_o cheerful_a than_o otherwise_o it_o will_v be_v as_o solomon_n tell_v we_o eccles._n 8.1_o that_o a_o man_n wisdom_n make_v his_o face_n to_o shine_v
for_o we_o to_o stand_v between_o we_o and_o god_n justice_n and_o by_o his_o dismal_a suffering_n and_o curse_a death_n to_o expiate_v our_o offence_n so_o that_o we_o have_v not_o only_o the_o infinite_a goodness_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n to_o trust_v to_o but_o the_o virtue_n and_o efficacy_n of_o that_o sacrifice_n which_o the_o son_n of_o god_n make_v of_o himself_o to_o plead_v for_o our_o forgiveness_n upon_o our_o repentance_n and_o amendment_n nor_o be_v our_o bless_a saviour_n only_o our_o propitiation_n to_o die_v for_o we_o and_o procure_v our_o atonement_n but_o he_o be_v still_o our_o advocate_n continual_o intercede_v with_o his_o father_n in_o the_o behalf_n of_o all_o true_a penitent_n and_o sue_v out_o their_o pardon_n for_o they_o in_o the_o court_n of_o heaven_n if_o any_o man_n sin_n we_o have_v a_o advocate_n with_o the_o father_n jesus_n christ_n the_o righteous_a who_o deprecate_v anger_n mitigate_v wrath_n and_o not_o only_o bare_o intercede_v for_o we_o but_o with_o authority_n demand_v the_o release_n of_o his_o captive_n redeem_v by_o his_o blood_n by_o virtue_n of_o god_n promise_n and_o covenant_n and_o in_o order_n to_o the_o sufficient_a promulgation_n of_o this_o his_o gracious_a willingness_n to_o forgive_v we_o upon_o our_o repentance_n god_n have_v provide_v and_o appoint_v a_o order_n of_o man_n to_o last_o as_o long_o as_o the_o world_n do_v to_o propound_v to_o man_n this_o bless_a overture_n and_o in_o god_n name_n to_o beseech_v man_n to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o he_o nay_o god_n condescend_v to_o prevent_v the_o worst_a of_o man_n by_o manifold_a blessing_n and_o favour_n daily_o oblige_v they_o by_o his_o grace_n and_o spirit_n and_o several_a providence_n towards_o they_o moving_z affect_v and_o awaken_n the_o most_o grievous_a offender_n to_o a_o timely_a consideration_n of_o their_o way_n though_o high_o provoke_v he_o yet_o begin_v first_o with_o we_o so_o desirous_a be_v he_o of_o our_o welfare_n he_o have_v not_o only_o outward_o proclaim_v pardon_n to_o all_o that_o will_v submit_v and_o send_v his_o own_o son_n on_o this_o message_n of_o peace_n but_o inward_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o grace_n he_o solicit_v man_n to_o comply_v with_o it_o even_o where_o it_o be_v resist_v and_o despise_v he_o forsake_v not_o man_n at_o their_o first_o denial_n he_o give_v they_o time_n to_o bethink_v and_o recollect_v themselves_o he_o do_v not_o lie_v at_o the_o catch_n nor_o take_v present_a advantage_n against_o we_o but_o with_o infinite_a patience_n wait_v to_o be_v gracious_a to_o we_o hope_v at_o last_o we_o shall_v be_v of_o a_o better_a mind_n he_o do_v not_o soon_o despair_v of_o man_n conversion_n and_o reformation_n he_o yet_o extend_v his_o grace_n towards_o those_o who_o abuse_v it_o and_o offer_v his_o pardon_n to_o those_o who_o slight_a it_o nothing_o be_v more_o high_o please_v and_o acceptable_a to_o he_o than_o for_o a_o sinner_n to_o return_v from_o the_o evil_n of_o his_o way_n nay_o which_o be_v more_o yet_o he_o be_v not_o only_o upon_o our_o repentance_n ready_a to_o overlook_v all_o that_o be_v past_a but_o he_o have_v promise_v to_o reward_v our_o future_a obedience_n with_o eternal_a life_n so_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o only_o upon_o our_o repentance_n be_v free_v from_o those_o dismal_a punishment_n which_o we_o have_v render_v ourselves_o liable_a to_o but_o likewise_o receive_v from_o god_n such_o a_o glorious_a recompense_n as_o be_v beyond_o all_o our_o conception_n or_o imagination_n now_o if_o such_o love_n and_o kindness_n of_o heaven_n towards_o we_o will_v not_o beget_v some_o relent_n and_o remorse_n in_o we_o if_o such_o powerful_a argument_n will_v not_o prevail_v with_o we_o to_o grow_v wise_a and_o considerate_a it_o be_v impossible_a any_o shall_v let_v we_o all_o therefore_o smite_v upon_o our_o breast_n and_o say_v o_o lord_n we_o be_v high_o sensible_a of_o our_o folly_n of_o our_o unworthiness_n and_o foul_a ingratitude_n for_o we_o have_v sin_v against_o thou_o and_o do_v evil_a in_o thy_o sight_n and_o be_v no_o more_o worthy_a to_o be_v call_v thy_o child_n but_o we_o have_v hear_v that_o the_o great_a king_n of_o the_o world_n be_v a_o most_o merciful_a king_n that_o he_o delight_v not_o in_o the_o death_n of_o sinner_n but_o have_v rather_o they_o shall_v repent_v and_o live_v we_o can_v long_o withstand_v or_o oppose_v such_o unspeakable_a goodness_n we_o be_v overcome_v by_o such_o wonderful_a kindness_n and_o condescension_n we_o resign_v up_o ourselves_o whole_o to_o the_o conduct_n of_o his_o good_a spirit_n and_o will_v never_o withdraw_v or_o alienate_v ourselves_o from_o he_o any_o more_o we_o will_v now_o become_v god_n true_a and_o loyal_a subject_n and_o continue_v such_o as_o long_o as_o we_o breathe_v nor_o shall_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n be_v able_a to_o shake_v or_o corrupt_v our_o faith_n and_o allegiance_n to_o he_o what_o punishment_n can_v be_v too_o sore_o what_o state_n black_a and_o dismal_a enough_o for_o those_o who_o contemn_v all_o these_o offer_n and_o kindness_n of_o heaven_n who_o will_v not_o by_o any_o mean_n be_v win_v to_o look_v after_o and_o have_v mercy_n upon_o themselves_o to_o consult_v their_o own_o interest_n and_o welfare_n what_o pity_n can_v they_o expect_v who_o obstinate_o choose_v to_o be_v miserable_a in_o despite_n of_o all_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n and_o grace_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o lord_n grant_v that_o we_o may_v all_o in_o this_o our_o day_n know_v and_o mind_n the_o thing_n that_o belong_v to_o our_o everlasting_a peace_n before_o they_o be_v hide_v from_o our_o eye_n the_o eleven_o sermon_n 1_o cor._n xv._o 35._o but_o some_o man_n will_v say_v how_o be_v the_o dead_a raise_v up_o and_o with_o what_o body_n do_v they_o come_v the_o apostle_n have_v in_o the_o begin_n of_o this_o chapter_n most_o firm_o establish_v the_o truth_n and_o reality_n of_o our_o saviour_n resurrection_n from_o the_o dead_a proceed_v to_o infer_v from_o thence_o the_o certainty_n of_o our_o own_o resurrection_n v._o 12_o 13._o now_o if_o christ_n be_v preach_v that_o he_o rise_v from_o the_o dead_a how_o say_v some_o among_o you_o that_o there_o be_v no_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a but_o if_o there_o be_v no_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a then_o be_v not_o christ_n rise_v it_o can_v now_o any_o long_o seem_v a_o impossible_a or_o incredible_a thing_n to_o you_o that_o god_n shall_v raise_v the_o dead_a since_o you_o have_v so_o plain_a and_o undoubted_a a_o example_n of_o it_o in_o the_o person_n of_o our_o bless_a lord_n who_o have_v be_v true_o dead_a and_o bury_v be_v now_o alive_a and_o have_v appear_v unto_o many_o with_o the_o visible_a mark_n of_o his_o crucifixion_n still_o remain_v in_o his_o body_n and_o to_o show_v of_o what_o general_a concernment_n his_o resurrection_n be_v the_o grave_n be_v open_v as_o st._n matthew_n tell_v we_o and_o many_o body_n of_o saint_n which_o sleep_v arise_v and_o come_v out_o of_o the_o grave_n after_o his_o resurrection_n and_o appear_v unto_o many_o the_o same_o power_n which_o raise_v jesus_n from_o the_o dead_a be_v able_a also_o to_o quicken_v our_o mortal_a body_n now_o in_o my_o text_n the_o apostle_n bring_v in_o some_o sceptical_a person_n object_v against_o this_o doctrine_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a but_o some_o man_n will_v say_v how_o be_v the_o dead_a raise_v up_o and_o with_o what_o body_n do_v they_o come_v two_o question_n that_o every_o one_o almost_o be_v ready_a to_o start_v especial_o those_o who_o love_v to_o cavil_v at_o religion_n and_o it_o have_v not_o a_o little_a puzzle_v such_o as_o have_v undertake_v to_o give_v a_o rational_a account_n of_o our_o faith_n to_o give_v a_o full_a and_o satisfactory_a answer_n to_o they_o how_o can_v these_o thing_n be_v how_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o those_o body_n shall_v be_v raise_v again_o and_o join_v to_o the_o soul_n which_o former_o inhabit_v they_o which_o many_o thousand_o year_n ago_o be_v either_o bury_v in_o the_o earth_n or_o swallow_v up_o in_o the_o sea_n or_o devour_v by_o fire_n which_o have_v be_v dissolve_v into_o the_o small_a atom_n and_o those_o scatter_v over_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o disperse_v as_o far_o asunder_o as_o the_o heaven_n be_v wide_a nay_o which_o have_v undergo_v ten_o thousand_o several_a change_n and_o transmutation_n have_v fructify_v the_o earth_n become_v the_o nourishment_n of_o other_o animal_n and_o those_o the_o food_n again_o of_o other_o man_n and_o so_o have_v be_v adopt_v into_o several_a other_o body_n how_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o all_o those_o little_a particle_n which_o make_v up_o suppose_v the_o body_n of_o abraham_n shall_v at_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n be_v again_o range_v and_o marshal_v together_o and_o
virtue_n and_o goodness_n purify_v and_o exalt_v a_o man_n natural_a temper_n and_o make_v his_o very_a look_n more_o clear_a and_o brisk_a 3._o our_o body_n shall_v be_v raise_v in_o power_n this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o school_n call_v the_o agility_n of_o our_o heavenly_a body_n the_o nimbleness_n of_o their_o motion_n by_o which_o they_o shall_v be_v render_v most_o obedient_a and_o able_a instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n in_o this_o state_n our_o body_n be_v no_o better_o than_o clog_v and_o fetter_n which_o confine_v and_o restrain_v the_o freedom_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o hinder_v it_o be_v all_o her_o operation_n the_o corruptible_a body_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o wisdom_n of_o solomon_n press_v down_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o earthly_a tabernacle_n weigh_v down_o the_o mind_n that_o muse_v upon_o many_o thing_n our_o dull_a sluggish_a and_o unactive_a body_n be_v often_o unable_a often_o unready_a and_o backward_o to_o execute_v the_o order_n and_o obey_v the_o command_n of_o our_o soul_n so_o that_o they_o be_v rather_o hindrance_n to_o the_o soul_n than_o any-way_n useful_a or_o serviceable_a to_o she_o but_o in_o the_o other_o life_n as_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n tell_v we_o isaiah_n 40.31_o they_o that_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n shall_v renew_v their_o strength_n they_o shall_v mount_v up_o with_o wing_n as_o eagle_n they_o shall_v run_v and_o not_o be_v weary_a and_o they_o shall_v walk_v and_o not_o faint_a or_o as_o another_o express_v it_o they_o shall_v shine_v and_o run_v too_o and_o fro_o like_a spark_n among_o the_o stubble_n the_o speed_n of_o their_o motion_n shall_v be_v like_o that_o of_o devour_a fire_n in_o a_o heap_n of_o dry_a stubble_n and_o the_o height_n of_o it_o shall_v surpass_v the_o tower_a flight_n of_o the_o eagle_n for_o they_o shall_v meet_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o air_n when_o he_o come_v to_o judgement_n and_o afterward_o mount_v up_o with_o he_o into_o the_o three_o and_o high_a heaven_n this_o earthly_a body_n be_v continual_o grovel_v on_o the_o ground_n slow_a and_o heavy_a in_o all_o its_o motion_n listless_a and_o soon_o tire_v with_o action_n and_o the_o soul_n that_o dwell_v in_o it_o be_v force_v as_o it_o be_v to_o drag_v and_o hale_v it_o along_o but_o our_o heavenly_a body_n shall_v be_v as_o free_v as_o active_a and_o nimble_a as_o our_o very_a thought_n be_v 4._o and_o last_o our_o body_n shall_v be_v raise_v spiritual_a body_n not_o of_o a_o spiritual_a substance_n for_o then_o the_o word_n will_v imply_v a_o contradiction_n it_o be_v impossible_a that_o the_o same_o thing_n shall_v be_v both_o a_o spiritual_a and_o a_o bodily_a substance_n but_o spiritual_a be_v here_o oppose_v not_o to_o corporeal_a but_o to_o natural_a or_o animal_n and_o by_o it_o be_v express_v as_o it_o be_v ordinary_o interpret_v the_o subtlety_n and_o tenuity_n and_o purity_n of_o our_o heavenly_a body_n but_o i_o will_v rather_o explain_v it_o thus_o in_o this_o state_n our_o spirit_n be_v force_v to_o serve_v our_o body_n and_o to_o attend_v their_o leisure_n and_o do_v mighty_o depend_v upon_o they_o in_o most_o of_o their_o operation_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a in_o the_o other_o world_n our_o body_n shall_v whole_o serve_v our_o spirit_n and_o minister_v unto_o they_o and_o depend_v upon_o they_o so_o that_o by_o a_o natural_a body_n i_o understand_v a_o body_n fit_v for_o this_o low_a and_o sensible_a world_n for_o this_o earthly_a state_n by_o a_o spiritual_a body_n such_o a_o one_o as_o be_v suit_v and_o accommodate_v to_o a_o spiritual_a state_n to_o a_o invisible_a world_n to_o such_o a_o life_n as_o the_o saint_n and_o angel_n lead_v in_o heaven_n and_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o principal_a difference_n between_o this_o mortal_a body_n and_o our_o glorify_a body_n this_o flesh_n which_o now_o we_o be_v so_o apt_a to_o dote_v upon_o be_v one_o of_o the_o great_a and_o most_o dangerous_a enemy_n we_o have_v and_o therefore_o be_v defy_v and_o renounce_v by_o all_o christian_n in_o their_o baptism_n as_o well_o as_o the_o world_n and_o the_o devil_n it_o continual_o tempt_v and_o solicit_v we_o to_o evil_a every_o sense_n be_v a_o snare_n to_o we_o and_o all_o its_o lust_n and_o appetite_n be_v inordinate_a and_o insatiable_a it_o be_v impatient_a of_o christ_n yoke_n and_o refuse_v discipline_n it_o be_v ungovernable_a and_o often_o rebell_v against_o reason_n and_o the_o law_n in_o our_o member_n war_v against_o the_o law_n of_o our_o mind_n and_o bring_v we_o into_o captivity_n to_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n which_o be_v in_o our_o member_n and_o when_o the_o spirit_n be_v willing_a the_o flesh_n be_v weak_a so_o that_o the_o best_a man_n be_v force_v to_o keep_v it_o under_o and_o use_v it_o hardly_o lest_o it_o shall_v betray_v they_o into_o folly_n and_o misery_n we_o be_v now_o in_o a_o state_n of_o warfare_n and_o must_v always_o be_v upon_o our_o guard_n and_o watch_v continual_o arm_v and_o defend_v ourselves_o against_o the_o assault_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o all_o its_o violent_a and_o impetuous_a motion_n how_o do_v it_o hinder_v we_o in_o all_o our_o religious_a devotion_n how_o soon_o do_v it_o jade_v our_o mind_n when_o employ_v in_o any_o divine_a or_o spiritual_a meditation_n or_o how_o easy_o by_o its_o bewitch_a and_o enchant_a pleasure_n do_v it_o divert_v they_o from_o such_o noble_a exercise_n so_o that_o st._n paul_n break_v forth_o into_o this_o sad_a and_o mournful_a complaint_n rom._n 7.24_o o_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o the_o body_n of_o this_o death_n who_o shall_v death_n shall_v that_o shall_v give_v we_o a_o full_a and_o final_a deliverance_n when_o once_o we_o have_v obtain_v the_o resurrection_n unto_o life_n we_o shall_v not_o any_o more_o feel_v those_o lusting_n of_o the_o flesh_n against_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v here_o so_o troublesome_a and_o uneasy_a to_o we_o our_o flesh_n shall_v then_o cease_v to_o vex_v our_o soul_n with_o its_o evil_a inclination_n immoderate_a desire_n and_o unreasonable_a passion_n but_o be_v its_o self_n spiritualise_v purify_a exalt_a and_o free_v from_o this_o earthly_a grossness_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o pollution_n shall_v become_v a_o most_o fit_a and_o proper_a instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n in_o all_o her_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a employment_n it_o shall_v not_o be_v weary_a of_o sing_v praise_n unto_o god_n almighty_a through_o infinite_a age_n it_o shall_v want_v no_o respite_n or_o refreshment_n but_o its_o meat_n and_o drink_n shall_v be_v to_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o these_o thing_n chief_o consist_v the_o difference_n between_o those_o body_n which_o we_o shall_v have_v at_o the_o resurrection_n and_o this_o mortal_a flesh_n which_o we_o can_v but_o very_o imperfect_o either_o conceive_v or_o express_v but_o yet_o from_o what_o have_v be_v discourse_v on_o this_o subject_n it_o do_v sufficient_o appear_v that_o a_o glorify_a body_n be_v infinite_o more_o excellent_a and_o desirable_a than_o that_o vile_a and_o contemptible_a flesh_n which_o we_o now_o carry_v about_o with_o we_o the_o only_a thing_n remain_v be_v iii_o and_o last_o to_o draw_v some_o practical_a inference_n from_o all_o i_o have_v say_v on_o this_o subject_n i_o shall_v but_o just_a mention_n these_o five_o and_o leave_v the_o improvement_n of_o they_o to_o your_o own_o private_a meditation_n 1._o from_o what_o i_o have_v say_v we_o may_v learn_v the_o best_a way_n of_o fit_v and_o prepare_v ourselves_o to_o live_v in_o those_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a body_n which_o shall_v be_v bestow_v upon_o we_o at_o the_o resurrection_n which_o be_v by_o cleanse_v and_o purify_n our_o soul_n still_o more_o and_o more_o from_o all_o fleshly_a filthiness_n and_o wean_a ourselves_o by_o degree_n from_o this_o earthly_a body_n and_o all_o sensual_a pleasure_n and_o delight_n we_o shall_v begin_v in_o this_o life_n to_o loosen_v and_o untie_v the_o knot_n between_o our_o soul_n and_o this_o mortal_a flesh_n to_o refine_v our_o affection_n and_o raise_v they_o from_o thing_n below_o to_o thing_n above_o to_o take_v off_o our_o heart_n and_o leisurely_o to_o disengage_v they_o from_o thing_n present_a and_o sensible_a and_o to_o use_v and_o accustom_v ourselves_o to_o think_v of_o and_o converse_v with_o thing_n spiritual_a and_o invisible_a that_o so_o our_o soul_n when_o they_o be_v separate_v from_o this_o earthly_a body_n may_v be_v prepare_v and_o dispose_v to_o actuate_v and_o inform_v a_o pure_a and_o spiritual_a one_o as_o have_v before_o hand_n taste_v and_o relish_v spiritual_a delight_n and_o pleasure_n and_o be_v in_o some_o degree_n acquaint_v with_o those_o object_n which_o shall_v then_o be_v present_v to_o we_o a_o soul_n whole_o immerse_v and_o bury_v in_o this_o earthly_a body_n be_v not_o at_o all_o fit_a and_o qualify_v
