feel_v of_o this_o truth_n namely_o that_o it_o be_v a_o work_n of_o unspeakable_a love_n in_o god_n to_o send_v we_o sickness_n and_o other_o affliction_n which_o he_o express_v towards_o his_o great_a friend_n and_o he_o prove_v and_o perfect_v they_o thereby_o and_o make_v they_o worthy_a of_o most_o beautiful_a and_o most_o precious_a crown_n of_o glory_n we_o will_v confirm_v it_o by_o the_o example_n of_o some_o very_a eminent_a saint_n timothy_n that_o holy_a bishop_n and_o the_o disciple_n of_o saint_n paul_n be_v sick_a of_o a_o pain_n in_o his_o stomach_n 1._o tim._n 5._o which_o be_v a_o grievous_a and_o irksome_a disease_n and_o have_v also_o many_o other_o infirmity_n and_o saint_n paul_n love_v he_o much_o and_o very_o tender_o and_o well_o know_v the_o great_a need_n he_o have_v of_o health_n that_o so_o he_o may_v with_o gust_n undergo_v all_o those_o difficulty_n which_o the_o office_n of_o a_o bishop_n exact_v at_o his_o hand_n do_v not_o yet_o take_v away_o this_o sickness_n nor_o desire_n of_o almighty_a god_n that_o it_o be_v take_v away_o he_o cure_v other_o sick_a person_n act._n 9_o and_o that_o with_o so_o great_a facility_n that_o it_o life_n of_o two_o hundred_o seaventy_n and_o six_o person_n who_o be_v go_v with_o he_o to_o rome_n and_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o perish_v by_o the_o way_n god_n do_v grant_v the_o suit_n and_o free_v they_o from_o death_n at_o his_o request_n and_o yet_o to_o this_o disciple_n of_o he_o who_o he_o love_v so_o much_o he_o neither_o give_v health_n by_o miracle_n nor_o do_v he_o beg_v the_o cure_n of_o god_n but_o permit_v he_o to_o continue_v sick_a as_o he_o be_v and_o for_o some_o ease_n in_o those_o infirmity_n which_o he_o have_v he_o give_v no_o other_o they_o that_o ordinary_a remedy_n which_o any_o vulgar_a friend_n will_v have_v prescribe_v say_v do_v not_o still_o drink_v water_n alone_o but_o take_v a_o little_a wine_n for_o that_o pain_n of_o stomach_n which_o you_o endure_v so_o this_o be_v prove_v to_o be_v that_o effect_n of_o sickness_n which_o we_o be_v now_o declaringe_v namely_o that_o it_o dispose_v such_o as_o be_v good_a to_o receive_v new_a gift_n from_o god_n and_o to_o better_v they_o and_o perfect_v they_o by_o their_o grow_v in_o virtue_n and_o by_o make_v they_o increase_v in_o merit_n both_o of_o grace_n and_o glory_n the_o bless_a euagrius_n bishop_n of_o antioch_n and_o disciple_n of_o saint_n macharius_fw-la relate_v that_o go_v one_o day_n in_o company_n of_o other_o servant_n of_o god_n to_o visit_v that_o most_o holy_a man_n john_n a_o monk_n of_o egypt_n and_o a_o great_a prophet_n and_o much_o reverence_v by_o the_o emperor_n theodosius_n as_o be_v one_o of_o the_o great_a saint_n of_o that_o time_n one_o of_o those_o consort_n of_o
