quite_o mistake_v for_o though_o the_o scripture_n name_v one_o yet_o notwithstanding_o there_o be_v a_o thousand_o mediator_n saint_n and_o angel_n by_o who_o we_o ought_v to_o present_v our_o supplication_n but_o show_v we_o no_o other_o scripture_n to_o make_v this_o good_a yet_o require_v we_o to_o believe_v it_o mere_o because_o they_o tell_v we_o so_o be_v not_o this_o to_o forsake_v god_n word_n and_o believe_v in_o man_n rather_o than_o in_o god_n which_o i_o say_v be_v downright_a idolatry_n for_o the_o better_a understanding_n this_o my_o assertion_n i_o must_v show_v you_o what_o faith_n be_v divine_a and_o human._n divine_a faith_n be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n say_v st._n paul_n eph._n two_o 8._o a_o grace_n infuse_v into_o our_o mind_n by_o god_n whereby_o we_o believe_v his_o holy_a word_n to_o be_v so_o true_a as_o that_o it_o be_v impossible_a it_o shall_v be_v otherwise_o and_o though_o it_o seem_v contrary_a to_o our_o reason_n yet_o it_o captivate_v tell_v a_o lie_n yet_o we_o know_v the_o wise_a may_v be_v deceive_v and_o the_o true_a may_v tell_v a_o lie_n so_o that_o all_o human_a belief_n still_o suppose_v a_o possibility_n at_o least_o that_o it_o may_v not_o be_v true_a herein_o then_o lie_v the_o difference_n between_o divine_a faith_n and_o humane_a that_o there_o be_v no_o possibility_n of_o untruth_n in_o divine_a faith_n therefore_o we_o say_v that_o we_o believe_v in_o god_n we_o entire_o submit_v and_o captivate_v our_o understanding_n to_o god_n word_n he_o be_v truth_n itself_o but_o when_o we_o speak_v of_o man_n we_o say_v that_o we_o believe_v man_n not_o that_o we_o believe_v in_o man_n for_o this_o imply_v a_o impossibility_n of_o untruth_n in_o that_o man_n and_o we_o undoubted_o believe_v the_o thing_n mere_o because_o he_o speak_v it_o such_o a_o belief_n be_v due_a only_a unto_o god_n and_o be_v call_v divine_a faith_n and_o be_v a_o supernatural_a gift_n of_o god_n unto_o we_o there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n in_o nature_n the_o natural_a man_n receive_v not_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n neither_o can_v be_v know_v they_o because_o they_o be_v spiritual_o discern_v 1_o cor._n two_o 14._o have_v thus_o inform_v you_o what_o divine_a and_o humane_a faith_n be_v i_o come_v now_o to_o the_o business_n of_o idolatry_n i_o say_v then_o to_o believe_v in_o man_n that_o be_v to_o believe_v any_o thing_n to_o be_v infallible_o true_a mere_o because_o such_o a_o man_n say_v it_o and_o to_o venture_v your_o salvation_n on_o it_o be_v direct_o idolatry_n yea_o though_o a_o angel_n say_v it_o for_o in_o so_o believe_v in_o man_n or_o angel_n you_o make_v he_o god_n i_o mean_v you_o worship_v he_o as_o god_n yea_o it_o be_v the_o great_a idolatry_n you_o can_v perform_v for_o you_o give_v he_o the_o principal_a and_o great_a worship_n of_o god_n to_o offer_v incense_n to_o sacrifice_v ram_n and_o bull_n be_v nothing_o to_o this_o idolatry_n nay_o to_o sacrifice_v your_o own_o body_n to_o man_n be_v much_o inferior_a to_o it_o for_o it_o be_v but_o sacrifice_v so_o much_o dirt_n one_o soul_n be_v worth_a a_o hundred_o body_n of_o beast_n or_o man_n and_o therefore_o to_o sacrifice_v your_o soul_n and_o your_o reason_n the_o principal_n high_a faculty_n of_o your_o soul_n to_o captivate_v your_o understanding_n in_o obedience_n to_o faith_n in_o man_n be_v the_o high_a act_n of_o divine_a worship_n and_o consequent_o to_o give_v this_o to_o man_n be_v most_o abominable_a idolatry_n and_o contrariwise_o to_o worship_n god_n with_o our_o soul_n and_o captivate_v our_o understanding_n in_o obedience_n to_o faith_n in_o he_o be_v the_o most_o acceptable_a service_n we_o can_v possible_o perform_v this_o be_v the_o justify_v act_n the_o save_a grace_n this_o alone_a acquire_v heaven_n and_o without_o this_o the_o whole_a world_n can_v purchase_v it_o without_o this_o faith_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n heb._n xi_o 6._o and_o with_o this_o abraham_n so_o please_v god_n as_o that_o god_n thereupon_o promise_v to_o multiply_v his_o seed_n as_o the_o star_n of_o heaven_n and_o as_o the_o sand_n which_o be_v upon_o the_o sea_n shore_n and_o that_o save_v you_o you_o be_v as_o good_a lay_v it_o by_o we_o be_v save_v only_o by_o divine_a faith_n not_o of_o ourselves_o it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n but_o what_o if_o your_o saint_n in_o who_o you_o believe_v work_v miracle_n then_o you_o will_v say_v you_o believe_v in_o they_o with_o a_o divine_a and_o save_a faith_n their_o miracle_n be_v wrought_v by_o the_o power_n
