upon_o the_o foundation_n be_v save_v though_o not_o by_o that_o fire_n yet_o through_o that_o fire_n that_o try_v what_o pretence_n be_v here_o leave_v for_o the_o purge_n of_o soul_n by_o that_o fire_n whereby_o they_o be_v try_v if_o the_o trial_n be_v at_o the_o general_a judgement_n to_o bring_v soul_n out_o of_o purgatory_n then_o what_o thanks_o can_v it_o deserve_v and_o of_o the_o general_a judgement_n s._n paul_n must_v needs_o speak_v because_o there_o be_v no_o other_o trial_n that_o be_v certain_a affliction_n may_v try_v and_o the_o church_n may_v try_v but_o it_o may_v also_o not_o try_v s._n paul_n speak_v of_o a_o trial_n that_o must_v be_v not_o that_o may_v be_v i_o confess_v this_o be_v avoid_v by_o say_v that_o saint_n paul_n here_o prophecy_v of_o a_o judgement_n of_o god_n to_o come_v upon_o those_o who_o adulterate_v the_o gospel_n at_o corinth_n of_o who_o he_o speak_v for_o that_o judgement_n which_o s._n paul_n foretell_v must_v certain_o come_v to_o pass_v but_o s._n paul_n when_o he_o say_v the_o day_n shall_v show_v it_o speak_v not_o of_o a_o day_n which_o hereby_o he_o declare_v that_o it_o shall_v come_v but_o of_o a_o day_n which_o otherwise_o they_o acknowledge_v be_v to_o come_v namely_o by_o our_o common_a christianity_n whereof_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n be_v a_o part_n and_o whatsoever_o judgement_n saint_n expect_v that_o day_n to_o be_v reveal_v with_o but_o that_o fire_n which_o our_o lord_n shall_v come_v to_o judgement_n with_o now_o the_o fire_n of_o god_n vengeance_n which_o the_o last_o day_n shall_v come_v with_o why_o shall_v it_o not_o try_v as_o well_o as_o punish_v this_o be_v indeed_o in_o my_o understanding_n all_o that_o possible_o can_v remain_v questionable_a in_o the_o sense_n of_o those_o word_n the_o rest_n seem_v clear_a beyond_o dispute_n the_o fire_n of_o the_o last_o day_n be_v a_o bodily_a fire_n which_o shall_v burn_v up_o the_o world_n or_o purify_v it_o to_o that_o constitution_n which_o shall_v remain_v for_o the_o future_a but_o what_o be_v that_o to_o the_o try_v of_o their_o work_n saint_n paul_n word_n require_v it_o not_o the_o day_n try_v the_o fire_n consume_v the_o work_n and_o so_o leave_v the_o man_n purge_v by_o suffer_v that_o loss_n so_o man_n work_n be_v try_v by_o that_o great_a day_n if_o it_o the_o fire_n of_o it_o cleanse_v their_o body_n by_o sensible_a torment_n for_o that_o which_o we_o speak_v of_o come_v to_o pass_v after_o the_o restore_n of_o body_n than_o it_o be_v plain_a how_o the_o man_n escape_v through_o fire_n who_o work_n be_v consume_v by_o the_o fire_n which_o punish_v the_o man_n by_o who_o they_o be_v do_v if_o this_o fire_n can_v be_v proper_o understand_v to_o try_v what_o every_o man_n work_n be_v it_o will_v be_v nothing_o unproper_a to_o understand_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n to_o be_v the_o fire_n which_o examine_v man_n work_n by_o which_o examination_n they_o which_o have_v build_v hay_n and_o stubble_n upon_o the_o foundation_n of_o christ_n shall_v loose_v what_o they_o have_v build_v and_o yet_o themselves_o escape_v through_o that_o fire_n of_o conflagration_n which_o shall_v involve_v those_o that_o hold_v not_o the_o foundation_n with_o their_o work_n the_o other_o text_n of_o s._n paul_n be_v more_o obscure_a than_o this_o and_o yet_o be_v bring_v to_o prove_v this_o purpose_n can_v here_o be_v balk_v 1_o cor._n xv._o 29._o
