itself_o so_o far_o therefore_o as_o our_o own_o safety_n may_v be_v hazard_v for_o the_o preservation_n of_o our_o religion_n we_o be_v oblige_v to_o prefer_v our_o religion_n before_o our_o own_o safety_n though_o in_o truth_n god_n have_v so_o wise_o link_v these_o two_o together_o that_o our_o religion_n preserve_v with_o what_o hazard_n soever_o to_o ourselves_o will_v insure_v our_o own_o safety_n he_o that_o lose_v his_o life_n for_o my_o sake_n and_o the_o gospel_n shall_v find_v it_o say_v our_o saviour_n this_o natural_a religion_n or_o venerable_a sense_n of_o a_o deity_n and_o veneration_n towards_o our_o governor_n be_v but_o at_o least_o in_o this_o degenerate_a age_n a_o saint_n seed_n till_o it_o meet_v with_o some_o far_a active_a principle_n or_o disposition_n in_o their_o bosom_n that_o be_v love_n or_o fear_v or_o worldly_a design_n and_o then_o 1._o love_n as_o it_o be_v the_o radical_a affection_n of_o humane_a nature_n terminate_v in_o god_n alone_o as_o the_o supreme_a good_a the_o adequate_a object_n and_o centre_n of_o its_o rest_n and_o so_o be_v the_o genuine_a and_o proper_a principle_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o aught_o to_o be_v that_o inward_a frame_n or_o affection_n of_o mind_n from_o which_o all_o our_o service_n to_o god_n in_o religion_n proceed_v and_o where_o this_o principle_n be_v predominant_a in_o a_o church_n there_o be_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o bond_n of_o peace_n and_o this_o inward_a frame_n or_o disposition_n of_o mind_n from_o which_o our_o religion_n shall_v proceed_v as_o it_o be_v the_o chief_a thing_n regard_v in_o god_n eye_n so_o ought_v it_o to_o be_v the_o weighty_a consideration_n of_o our_o own_o because_o upon_o the_o issue_n of_o this_o depend_v our_o acceptance_n with_o god_n our_o for_o the_o root_n of_o hypocrisy_n may_v be_v as_o various_a as_o worldly_a design_n be_v ambition_n vain_a glory_n time-serving_a compliance_n with_o prevalent_a custom_n riches_n advantage_n to_o be_v leader_n of_o a_o sect_n head_n of_o a_o party_n nay_o it_o may_v be_v envy_n and_o malice_n to_o sow_v discord_n for_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o some_o preach_v christ_n out_o of_o envy_n the_o root_n of_o superstition_n be_v fear_n without_o love_n that_o be_v a_o dread_a of_o harm_n if_o the_o divine_a power_n or_o what_o be_v so_o apprehend_v to_o be_v as_o the_o object_n of_o our_o worship_n be_v not_o appease_v by_o such_o and_o such_o service_n this_o bring_v so_o many_o dreadful_a sacrifice_n to_o the_o altar_n at_o tophet_n and_o all_o the_o heathen_a world_n over_o and_o
