persecution_n for_o the_o sake_n of_o christ_n from_o the_o blind_a heathen_n on_o the_o one_o hand_n and_o the_o more_o obdurate_a jew_n on_o the_o other_o here_o as_o it_o be_v most_o probable_a st._n paul_n and_o his_o companion_n meet_v with_o those_o great_a trouble_n which_o he_o complain_v of_o 2_o cor._n 1.8_o which_o press_v they_o out_o of_o measure_n above_o strength_n insomuch_o that_o they_o despair_v even_o of_o life_n and_o have_v the_o sentence_n of_o death_n in_o themselves_o for_o it_o be_v certain_a he_o be_v in_o danger_n at_o ephesus_n of_o be_v carry_v to_o the_o rage_n and_o malice_n of_o such_o enemy_n among_o who_o they_o live_v though_o st._n paul_n do_v not_o direct_o mention_v it_o in_o this_o epistle_n for_o this_o reason_n it_o may_v be_v lest_o it_o may_v have_v exasperateed_o their_o enemy_n the_o more_o against_o they_o and_o therefore_o he_o give_v only_o such_o general_a hint_n to_o it_o as_o this_o in_o the_o text._n now_o because_o they_o gain_v upon_o they_o if_o possible_a in_o order_n to_o their_o receive_v the_o faith_n of_o christ_n now_o this_o exhortation_n and_o the_o reason_n by_o which_o it_o be_v enforce_v do_v near_o religion_n a_o pretence_n for_o the_o vile_a practice_n what_o shall_v we_o say_v of_o popery_n that_o hydra_n of_o error_n which_o have_v be_v so_o often_o baffle_v and_o yet_o they_o live_v though_o one_o will_v think_v if_o the_o man_n of_o that_o religion_n will_v serious_o consult_v either_o faith_n or_o reason_n and_o that_o law_n of_o kindness_n which_o be_v natural_o write_v in_o our_o heart_n they_o must_v needs_o be_v ashamed_a of_o their_o gross_a idolatry_n of_o the_o many_o contradiction_n and_o absurdity_n they_o have_v receive_v and_o that_o cruelty_n practise_v in_o their_o church_n towards_o all_o man_n that_o dare_v be_v wise_a than_o themselves_o to_o these_o i_o may_v add_v the_o dream_n and_o fancy_n of_o many_o enthusiast_n among_o we_o who_o conceive_v such_o
