sinner_n will_v soon_o be_v put_v out_o of_o countenance_n and_o be_v ashamed_a to_o appear_v in_o the_o world_n their_o party_n will_v be_v make_v inconsiderable_a and_o they_o will_v have_v but_o little_a power_n to_o draw_v other_o over_o to_o their_o side_n for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o more_o win_v and_o take_v sight_n in_o the_o world_n than_o the_o life_n of_o a_o christian_a lead_v exact_o according_a to_o the_o prescript_n of_o his_o religion_n and_o be_v there_o not_o in_o all_o age_n some_o such_o person_n of_o authority_n and_o fame_n who_o zeal_n for_o religion_n inspire_v they_o with_o so_o much_o courage_n as_o that_o they_o be_v neither_o ashamed_a nor_o afraid_a of_o be_v honest_a and_o innocent_a whatever_o the_o mad_a world_n may_v say_v or_o think_v of_o they_o for_o it_o i_o say_v be_v it_o not_o for_o such_o we_o shall_v soon_o lose_v not_o only_o the_o power_n but_o even_o the_o form_n of_o godliness_n too_o and_o god_n only_o know_v how_o many_o daily_a make_v shipwreck_n of_o their_o conscience_n only_o because_o they_o have_v not_o spirit_n enough_o to_o endure_v to_o be_v out_o of_o the_o mode_n and_o fashion_n ii_o but_o i_o hasten_v to_o the_o second_o thing_n propound_v which_o be_v to_o show_v how_o unreasonable_a it_o be_v to_o be_v entice_v to_o sin_n by_o such_o as_o argue_v for_o it_o and_o will_v endeavour_v to_o excuse_v it_o for_o there_o be_v many_o that_o be_v not_o altogether_o thus_o easy_a and_o complaisant_a as_o to_o follow_v mere_o for_o company_n nor_o so_o lazy_a as_o to_o take_v up_o every_o thing_n on_o trust_n but_o they_o be_v man_n of_o prudence_n and_o discretion_n who_o desire_v first_o to_o be_v satisfy_v whether_o what_o they_o be_v entice_v to_o be_v prudent_a and_o safe_a they_o like_v a_o wicked_a life_n well_o enough_o can_v they_o be_v but_o furnish_v with_o some_o small_a reason_n and_o argument_n for_o it_o by_o which_o they_o may_v justify_v their_o choice_n and_o stop_v the_o mouth_n of_o their_o conscience_n i_o shall_v just_o mention_v these_o four_o way_n whereby_o sinner_n ordinary_o entice_v such_o as_o these_o to_o join_v with_o they_o either_o 1._o by_o represent_v the_o tell_v they_o that_o the_o law_n of_o religion_n be_v fit_v only_o for_o the_o dull_a and_o phlegmatic_a unactive_a and_o hypochondriac_a who_o grudge_n at_o other_o enjoy_v those_o delight_n which_o themselves_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o that_o nature_n design_v we_o shall_v free_o use_v whatever_o she_o have_v provide_v for_o our_o entertainment_n here_o and_o be_v not_o so_o unkind_a as_o perpetual_o to_o torment_v we_o with_o the_o sight_n and_o presence_n of_o such_o thing_n as_o we_o be_v not_o permit_v to_o taste_v nor_o touch_n that_o heaven_n indeed_o be_v the_o lord_n and_o he_o dwell_v there_o and_o do_v what_o please_v he_o best_o but_o that_o the_o earth_n by_o his_o grant_n and_o permission_n be_v we_o and_o who_o shall_v interrupt_v or_o disturb_v we_o that_o god_n thing_n which_o we_o be_v more_o certain_a of_o which_o we_o daily_o see_v feel_v and_o experience_n such_o as_o be_v the_o present_a sensible_a pleasure_n and_o the_o visible_a good_a and_o evil_a thing_n of_o this_o life_n this_o therefore_o be_v one_o great_a reason_n of_o the_o inefficacy_n of_o man_n faith_n that_o their_o belief_n of_o these_o great_a truth_n be_v never_o well_o root_v lust_n be_v check_v and_o cross_v by_o the_o hope_n and_o fear_n of_o another_o life_n make_v the_o shrewd_a objection_n against_o the_o principle_n of_o religion_n and_o do_v with_o all_o their_o force_n and_o power_n oppose_v the_o entertainment_n of_o they_o in_o our_o mind_n and_o on_o the_o success_n of_o this_o contest_v do_v especial_o depend_v the_o efficacy_n of_o our_o faith_n thus_o
