proper_a to_o religion_n the_o three_o proper_a adjunct_n of_o religion_n be_v love_n and_o that_o love_n be_v not_o every_o love_n but_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o our_o brethren_n for_o god_n sake_n which_o love_n be_v wrought_v in_o man_n by_o the_o same_o spirit_n that_o religion_n itself_o be_v wrought_v the_o apostle_n say_v 5.5_o rom._n 5.5_o that_o the_o love_n of_o of_o god_n be_v shed_v abroad_o into_o our_o heart_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o be_v give_v to_o us._n and_o in_o another_o place_n he_o acknowledge_v great_a thanks_n to_o be_v due_a to_o god_n for_o the_o increase_n of_o faith_n and_o abundance_n of_o love_n which_o be_v in_o the_o thessalonian_o 1.3_o 2._o thes_n 1.3_o where_o he_o join_v faith_n and_o love_n as_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n that_o go_v always_o together_o neither_o let_v a_o man_n deceive_v himself_o in_o this_o love_n of_o god_n for_o many_o man_n think_v they_o love_v god_n when_o indeed_o they_o love_v only_o themselves_o as_o christ_n upbraid_v they_o that_o follow_v he_o only_o for_o love_n of_o the_o loaf_n diverse_a heathen_a people_n have_v worship_v the_o sun_n the_o moon_n the_o star_n ceres_n the_o goddess_n of_o corn_n bacchus_n the_o god_n of_o wine_n and_o the_o like_a for_o the_o benefit_n they_o have_v receive_v from_o these_o creature_n and_o no_o question_n herein_o have_v some_o general_a notation_n of_o a_o deity_n but_o this_o love_n of_o god_n which_o flow_v from_o true_a religion_n must_v not_o be_v only_o a_o love_n of_o he_o for_o his_o goodness_n towards_o we_o no_o not_o for_o that_o great_a gift_n of_o salvation_n to_o mankind_n but_o a_o love_n of_o he_o because_o he_o be_v so_o holy_a and_o absolute_a perfection_n yea_o though_o we_o receive_v none_o of_o these_o mercy_n yet_o this_o religion_n will_v cause_v we_o to_o love_v he_o for_o himself_o and_o his_o child_n in_o obedience_n to_o his_o commandment_n and_o for_o the_o communion_n they_o all_o have_v in_o christ_n which_o be_v deliver_v by_o john_n 3.21_o 1._o epist_n joh._n 3.21_o in_o these_o word_n and_o this_o comfort_n have_v we_o from_o god_n that_o he_o who_o love_v god_n love_v his_o brother_n also_o and_o the_o communion_n which_o all_o the_o saint_n have_v in_o christ_n require_v the_o love_n which_o the_o apostle_n to_o the_o ephesian_n 4.15_o ephe._n 4.15_o say_v be_v the_o knit_n of_o the_o oftentimes_o take_v in_o the_o same_o signification_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v wisdom_n 28.28_o job_n 28.28_o and_o when_o a_o man_n be_v say_v to_o finish_v that_o great_a work_n of_o his_o salvation_n which_o be_v a_o end_n of_o his_o religion_n he_o be_v advise_v by_o the_o 7.3_o 2._o cor._n 7.3_o apostle_n to_o do_v it_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n religion_n consist_v in_o the_o observe_n of_o the_o law_n
