brethren_n in_o faith_n and_o low_a do_v break_v the_o covenant_n in_o the_o express_a letter_n of_o it_o but_o who_o they_o be_v that_o join_v with_o the_o common_a enemy_n that_o divide_v between_o brethren_n that_o obstruct_v their_o live_n together_o in_o faith_n and_o love_n and_o so_o provoke_v the_o eye_n of_o jealousy_n that_o the_o lord_n delight_v not_o to_o dwell_v among_o we_o i●evident_a to_o all_o the_o world_n and_o almost_o the_o complaint_n of_o all_o disengage_a man_n take_v but_o one_o instance_n from_o one_o of_o they_o i_o have_v rather_o say_v he_o that_o the_o great_a turk_n shall_v come_v and_o enslave_v this_o kingdom_n unto_o his_o tyranny_n and_o that_o i_o shall_v be_v a_o slave_n among_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o kingdom_n than_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o toleration_n of_o i_o dependent_n he_o can_v but_o suppose_v that_o if_o the_o great_a turk_n be_v lord_n paramount_a in_o this_o kingdom_n that_o he_o will_v establish_v his_o religion_n among_o we_o 〈◊〉_d who_o be_v he_o that_o break_v the_o covenant_n he_o that_o shall_v profess_v he_o can_v in_o conscience_n subject_a unto_o such_o or_o such_o external_a discipline_n be_v very_o commonwealth_n or_o he_o that_o shall_v profess_v his_o desire_n rather_o that_o the_o great_a turk_n and_o by_o consequence_n the_o religion_n of_o the_o turk_n shall_v rule_v over_o we_o than_o a_o toleration_n shall_v be_v allow_v to_o such_o a_o man_n consider_v withal_o that_o there_o be_v no_o article_n word_n or_o syllable_n in_o the_o covenant_n engage_v against_o the_o toleration_n of_o such_o a_o man_n and_o the_o very_a letter_n of_o the_o covenant_n bind_v we_o unto_o such_o endeavour_n for_o uniformity_n that_o brethren_n may_v live_v together_o as_o brethren_n in_o faith_n and_o love_n that_o the_o lord_n may_v delight_v to_o dwell_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o they_o we_o know_v it_o will_v be_v reply_v that_o we_o be_v tie_v in_o the_o very_a letter_n of_o the_o covenant_n unto_o unity_n and_o uniformity_n in_o the_o three_o kingdom_n which_o be_v inconsistent_a with_o a_o toleration_n of_o independent_n or_o any_o other_o way_n whatsoever_o that_o be_v against_o the_o receive_a way_n of_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o kingdom_n and_o therefore_o a_o absolute_a breach_n of_o covenant_n which_o we_o must_v not_o commit_v upon_o any_o term_n better_a the_o great_a turk_n shall_v come_v in_o and_o we_o suffer_v for_o our_o faithfulness_n to_o jesus_n christ_n hold_v fast_o the_o profession_n of_o our_o faith_n under_o his_o tyranny_n than_o be_v actual_a breaker_n of_o our_o covenant_n by_o such_o a_o toleration_n we_o answer_v first_o if_o we_o have_v promise_v absolute_o to_o be_v uniform_a in_o the_o three_o kingdom_n except_o we_o have_v attain_v to_o a_o most_o certain_a infallible_a knowledge_n of_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n herein_o we_o have_v sin_v by_o such_o a_o engagement_n for_o we_o have_v swear_v to_o we_o know_v not_o what_o and_o so_o had-sinn●d_fw-mi against_o the_o law_n of_o covenant-making_n which_o be_v to_o swear_v in_o righteousness_n and_o judgement_n and_o by_o consequence_n be_v not_o bind_v to_o keep_v such_o a_o covenant_n every_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o forsake_v and_o not_o to_o continue_v in_o a_o sinful_a engagement_n second_o absolute_a uniformity_n in_o doctrine_n worship_n discipline_n and_o government_n in_o the_o three_o kingdom_n be_v not_o our_o covenant_n but_o our_o endeavour_n after_o such_o a_o uniformity_n be_v our-covenant_n and_o doubtless_o we_o be_v all_o bind_v by_o all_o just_a way_n in_o our_o several_a place_n and_o calling_n to_o endeavour_v the_o same_o three_o our_o covenant_n have_v tie_v we_o to_o order_n manage_v and_o frame_v our_o endeavour_n so_o as_o that_o brethren_n may_v live_v together_o in_o faith_n and_o love_n all_o other_o endeavour_v direct_o hinder_v this_o bless_a issue_n be_v against_o the_o express_a letter_n of_o the_o covenant_n four_o that_o not_o a_o absolute_a uniformity_n but_o a_o christian_a love_v and_o bortherly_a endeavour_n be_v not_o only_o the_o express_a letter_n but_o also_o the_o intent_n of_o the_o covenant_n appear_v both_o by_o the_o person_n that_o make_v the_o covenant_n who_o we_o all_o know_v not_o perfect_o agree_v at_o that_o time_n about_o a_o certain_a way_n of_o church-government_n call_v the_o assembly_n of_o divine_n to_o consult_v withal_o about_o it_o as_o also_o by_o their_o several_a declaration_n since_o that_o time_n and_o also_o by_o the_o person_n that_o do_v promote_v the_o covenant_n and_o take_v the_o covenant_n be_v man_n know_v to_o be_v of_o another_o judgement_n and_o practice_n at_o that_o time_n and_o so_o continue_v unto_o this_o day_n than_o the_o now_o receive_v way_n of_o the_o nation_n so_o that_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o we_o can_v but_o take_v notice_n what_o a_o sad_a case_n a_o miserable_a and_o intolerable_a case_n this_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v desire_v rather_o slavery_n under_o turcism_n than_o though_o enjoy_v our_o own_o judgement_n in_o our_o own_o person_n yet_o the_o permit_v our_o brethren_n to_o enjoy_v themselves_o though_o not_o disturb_v our_o peace_n and_o wolfare_n in_o the_o least_o kind_n in_o the_o second_o article_n we_o swear_v that_o we_o shall_v endeavour_v without_o respect_n of_o person_n the_o extirpation_n of_o popery_n prelacy_n that_o be_v church-government_n by_o archbishop_n bishop_n etc._n etc._n and_o all_o other_o ecclesiastical_a officer_n depend_v in_o that_o hierareby_n superstition_n heresy_n schism_n profaneness_n and_o what_o soever_o shall_v be_v find_v contrary_a to_o sound_v doctrine_n and_o the_o power_n of_o godliness_n lest_o we_o partake_v of_o other_o man_n sin_n and_o thereby_o
