maintain_v in_o this_o kirk_n they_o consequent_o will_v have_v acknowledge_v themselves_o bind_v to_o reform_v england_n according_a to_o our_o pattern_n but_o they_o think_v themselves_o not_o bind_v to_o do_v so_o for_o anno_fw-la 1647._o in_o their_o declaration_n to_o the_o scot_n commissioner_n they_o profess_v they_o can_v never_o find_v that_o presbytrie_n be_v necessary_a by_o any_o divine_a right_n and_o charge_v they_o for_o think_v there_o be_v no_o other_o lawful_a church_n covernment_n but_o that_o which_o they_o call_v church_n government_n and_o also_o charge_v they_o with_o misinterpreting_a the_o article_n of_o the_o covenant_n concern_v church_n government_n d._n it_o seem_v then_o that_o england_n and_o scotland_n do_v not_o understand_v that_o article_n in_o be_v a_o article_n as_o to_o that_o part_n of_o it_o that_o speak_v of_o government_n without_o sense_n since_o the_o imposer_n who_o only_o can_v give_v the_o bind_a sense_n be_v not_o agree_v about_o it_o for_o to_o say_v that_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o that_o sense_n which_o our_o state_n and_o church_n too_o if_o you_o will_v have_v of_o it_o be_v irrational_a because_o they_o be_v but_o a_o part_n of_o the_o imposer_n and_o the_o lesser_a part_n too_o in_o respect_n of_o england_n and_o ireland_n and_o further_o suppose_v it_o be_v grant_v to_o you_o that_o in_o that_o first_o mean_v in_o either_o of_o the_o covenant_n but_o much_o reason_n to_o the_o contrary_a yet_o i_o be_o content_a to_o make_v the_o supposition_n that_o it_o be_v abjure_v give_v then_o though_o not_o grant_v that_o this_o episcopacy_n be_v abjure_v in_o one_o or_o both_o of_o the_o covenant_n you_o can_v so_o easy_o conclude_v thence_o as_o you_o imagine_v that_o therefore_o those_o who_o take_v that_o oath_n and_o now_o again_o submit_v to_o yea_o or_o own_o this_o reestablish_v episcopacy_n be_v perjure_v d._n that_o seem_v very_o strange_a those_o who_o do_v swear_v against_o bishop_n in_o the_o covenant_n have_v they_o not_o by_o acknowledge_v they_o again_o do_v contrary_a to_o their_o oath_n and_o so_o be_v perjure_v i._o that_o you_o may_v receive_v answer_n to_o this_o you_o must_v consider_v the_o nature_n of_o episcopacy_n which_o be_v the_o matter_n suppose_v to_o be_v abjure_v episcopacy_n be_v either_o a_o necessary_a unalterable_a government_n as_o have_v a_o divine_a on_o the_o word_n and_o to_o have_v be_v the_o only_a government_n practise_v from_o the_o apostle_n own_o time_n downward_o through_o the_o pure_a age_n of_o the_o church_n i_o hope_v you_o will_v not_o think_v a_o oath_n take_v against_o it_o oblige_v to_o any_o thing_n but_o repentance_n for_o engage_v in_o so_o unwarrantable_a a_o oath_n you_o be_v a_o people_n who_o cry_v out_o perjury_n perjury_n but_o consider_v what_o i_o say_v to_o you_o at_o last_o meeting_n to_o let_v you_o see_v what_o warrant_v bishop_n have_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o only_a government_n find_v in_o the_o first_o and_o pure_a time_n of_o the_o church_n search_v when_o you_o will_v and_o that_o even_o those_o who_o have_v set_v themselves_o to_o maintain_v another_o
