the_o man_n that_o be_v guilty_a of_o they_o may_v more_o or_o less_o or_o not_o at_o all_o be_v think_v to_o have_v a_o real_a zeal_n of_o god_n and_o to_o act_v out_o of_o principle_n of_o conscience_n thus_o for_o instance_n in_o the_o first_o place_n those_o that_o set_v up_o for_o patron_n of_o atheism_n or_o epicurism_n that_o make_v it_o their_o business_n in_o their_o conversation_n to_o expose_v all_o religion_n and_o to_o bring_v it_o into_o contempt_n that_o ridicule_n the_o professor_n of_o it_o as_o a_o company_n of_o easy_a credulous_a man_n that_o make_v no_o conscience_n of_o blaspheme_a god_n and_o all_o thing_n sacred_a as_o occasion_n be_v give_v they_o why_o these_o man_n may_v have_v zeal_n enough_o for_o their_o opinion_n and_o we_o find_v that_o they_o often_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n too_o much_o but_o be_v such_o to_o be_v treat_v with_o that_o sort_n of_o tenderness_n and_o compassion_n that_o we_o be_v now_o speak_v of_o no_o by_o no_o mean_n for_o they_o be_v quite_o out_o of_o the_o bound_n of_o my_o text_n they_o have_v a_o zeal_n indeed_o but_o it_o be_v not_o a_o zeal_n for_o god_n but_o for_o the_o devil_n and_o the_o interest_n of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o if_o one_o be_v to_o measure_v the_o greatness_n of_o crime_n by_o the_o mischief_n they_o do_v to_o humane_a society_n i_o shall_v think_v that_o this_o sort_n of_o people_n be_v not_o to_o expect_v so_o much_o favour_n and_o respect_n from_o mankind_n as_o some_o other_o malefactor_n that_o yet_o by_o our_o law_n be_v to_o pay_v for_o their_o offence_n at_o no_o less_o a_o rate_n than_o their_o life_n again_o second_o if_o there_o be_v any_o man_n that_o under_o a_o pretence_n of_o religion_n do_v teach_v or_o encourage_v or_o promote_v any_o sort_n of_o no_o reason_n that_o much_o shall_v be_v make_v for_o his_o wickedness_n again_o three_o if_o there_o be_v any_o man_n that_o whilst_o they_o express_v a_o great_a zeal_n for_o the_o purity_n of_o in_o that_o compassion_n my_o text_n speak_v of_o for_o though_o they_o may_v be_v very_o zealous_a yet_o it_o be_v a_o zeal_n for_o their_o own_o secular_a advantage_n that_o act_v they_o and_o not_o compassion_n though_o yet_o in_o different_a degree_n for_o according_a as_o their_o principle_n and_o practice_n do_v more_o or_o less_o injure_v our_o common_a christianity_n or_o be_v more_o or_o less_o dangerous_a to_o our_o government_n and_o constitution_n in_o the_o same_o proportion_n the_o great_a or_o less_o tenderness_n and_o indulgence_n be_v to_o be_v express_v towards_o they_o but_o god_n never_o so_o great_a yet_o if_o it_o be_v not_o a_o zeal_n according_a to_o knowledge_n it_o be_v not_o the_o right_a christian_n zeal_n and_o though_o we_o see_v other_o never_o so_o fervent_a and_o vehement_a in_o pursue_v a_o religious_a cause_n and_o that_o too_o out_o of_o conscience_n yet_o if_o this_o zeal_n of_o they_o be_v not_o according_a to_o knowledge_n it_o be_v a_o zeal_n that_o just_o deserve_v to_o be_v reprove_v and_o though_o both_o we_o and_o they_o may_v for_o our_o sincerity_n in_o god_n cause_n expect_v some_o allowance_n both_o from_o god_n and_o man_n yet_o neither_o they_o nor_o we_o can_v justify_v it_o either_o to_o god_n or_o man_n that_o we_o be_v thus_o foolish_o and_o ignorant_o zealous_a i_o wish_v this_o mark_n of_o right_a zeal_n that_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v according_a to_o knowledge_n be_v more_o consider_v for_o it_o seem_v not_o often_o to_o be_v think_v on_o by_o those_o that_o be_v most_o zealous_a in_o their_o way_n of_o what_o but_o when_o in_o a_o revolution_n a_o prince_n be_v advance_v to_o the_o throne_n that_o they_o look_v upon_o to_o be_v a_o good_a man_n and_o a_o encourager_n of_o the_o true_a religion_n in_o that_o case_n they_o do_v not_o only_o ready_o submit_v to_o he_o but_o acknowledge_v it_o as_o the_o great_a blessing_n of_o god_n to_o they_o that_o he_o have_v raise_v up_o such_o a_o man_n to_o much_o of_o a_o piece_n not_o only_o as_o to_o the_o fervour_n but_o as_o the_o blindness_n of_o they_o be_v it_o a_o instance_n of_o ignorant_a zeal_n in_o the_o jew_n that_o they_o set_v up_o their_o tradition_n to_o the_o disparagement_n of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n i_o pray_v who_o be_v those_o that_o disparage_v the_o holy_a scripture_n by_o set_v their_o tradition_n upon_o a_o equal_a foot_n with_o they_o be_v the_o jew_n to_o be_v blame_v for_o that_o they_o be_v so_o zealous_a for_o their_o old_a religion_n as_o to_o oppose_v that_o reformation_n of_o it_o which_o our_o lord_n
