salvation_n as_o we_o declare_v in_o our_o last_o sermon_n he_o bid_v they_o repent_v and_o convert_v unto_o god_n which_o we_o partly_o do_v by_o repentance_n and_o partly_o by_o faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n through_o who_o merit_n we_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n but_o it_o be_v no_o small_a block_n that_o keep_v the_o jew_n from_o embrace_v of_o christ_n for_o where_o they_o be_v not_o yet_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o he_o a_o great_a many_o fear_v that_o if_o they_o shall_v receive_v he_o they_o shall_v offend_v against_o moses_n and_o the_o law_n give_v they_o from_o god_n and_o it_o seem_v a_o weighty_a matter_n to_o they_o to_o forsake_v the_o religion_n which_o god_n have_v give_v unto_o they_o and_o which_o they_o have_v hold_v so_o many_o year_n after_o that_o order_n and_o according_a as_o they_o receive_v it_o of_o their_o forefather_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n in_o the_o four_o part_n of_o his_o oration_n correct_v this_o error_n teach_v they_o that_o both_o moses_n and_o the_o prophet_n direct_v the_o true_a worshipper_n of_o god_n unto_o christ_n and_o that_o therefore_o they_o so_o little_o offend_v against_o the_o law_n by_o believe_v in_o christ_n that_o rather_o they_o disobey_v moses_n and_o believe_v not_o the_o prophet_n true_o except_o they_o receive_v christ_n of_o who_o they_o bear_v witness_v again_o lest_o they_o shall_v distrust_v the_o goodness_n of_o christ_n who_o they_o now_o so_o oftentimes_o hear_v they_o have_v offend_v by_o their_o great_a cruelty_n he_o declare_v that_o he_o that_o be_v promise_v to_o the_o father_n belong_v to_o they_o also_o and_o be_v their_o saviour_n as_o well_o as_o the_o father_n so_o that_o they_o will_v embrace_v he_o with_o true_a faith_n but_o at_o this_o present_a we_o will_v speak_v but_o of_o those_o thing_n only_o which_o peter_n allege_v concern_v the_o mystery_n of_o christ_n ground_v upon_o the_o book_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n he_o begin_v with_o moses_n because_o he_o be_v of_o great_a authority_n among_o the_o jew_n christ._n out_o of_o who_o where_o he_o may_v have_v bring_v diverse_a testimony_n he_o take_v one_o among_o a_o many_o whereby_o he_o teach_v we_o that_o christ_n be_v long_o ago_o appoint_v to_o be_v the_o teacher_n and_o schoolmaster_n of_o god_n people_n which_o thing_n serve_v much_o to_o this_o present_a purpose_n because_o as_o i_o say_v even_o now_o many_o thought_n it_o a_o grievous_a matter_n to_o forsake_v moses_n who_o they_o know_v be_v appoint_v of_o god_n to_o be_v their_o lawmaker_n and_o master_n he_o show_v therefore_o that_o it_o be_v not_o moses_n mind_n that_o they_o shall_v always_o hang_v upon_o he_o but_o that_o he_o point_v they_o to_o another_o prophet_n which_o shall_v more_o perfect_o teach_v they_o all_o thing_n the_o place_n be_v in_o deuteronomie_n xviij_o chapter_n in_o that_o place_n be_v prohibit_v all_o superstitious_a and_o soothsay_a art_n of_o the_o heathen_a whereby_o they_o go_v about_o to_o search_v out_o the_o knowledge_n of_o thing_n to_o come_v and_o the_o secret_n of_o god_n by_o divination_n by_o the_o wicked_a mathematical_n by_o the_o noise_n of_o bird_n fly_v by_o necromancy_n and_o such_o like_a kind_n of_o divination_n and_o moses_n do_v advertise_v they_o that_o they_o shall_v forsake_v these_o thing_n and_o turn_v to_o the_o only_a word_n of_o god_n and_o whole_o depend_v upon_o the_o same_o and_o because_o they_o shall_v not_o think_v it_o a_o hard_a matter_n to_o find_v out_o the_o meaning_n of_o god_n word_n he_o say_v they_o shall_v never_o want_v prophet_n who_o god_n will_v raise_v up_o from_o among_o themselves_o by_o who_o ministry_n they_o shall_v learn_v what_o the_o will_n of_o god_n be_v in_o all_o thing_n they_o shall_v take_v in_o hand_n and_o they_o be_v not_o deceive_v which_o think_v that_o a_o universal_a promise_n be_v contain_v in_o this_o place_n whereby_o the_o gift_n of_o prophecy_n be_v establish_v and_o confirm_v in_o the_o people_n and_o church_n of_o god_n but_o peter_n witty_o appli_v this_o general_a promise_n unto_o christ_n who_o it_o be_v evident_a be_v the_o chief_a of_o the_o prophet_n and_o by_o who_o spirit_n as_o he_o say_v in_o another_o place_n 1._o all_o the_o prophet_n be_v lead_v and_o inspire_v and_o that_o the_o thing_n here_o speak_v by_o moses_n belong_v unto_o christ_n be_v more_o evident_a than_o need_v any_o long_a demonstration_n for_o he_o be_v both_o bear_v of_o the_o jew_n and_o be_v send_v of_o god_n as_o appear_v by_o his_o doctrine_n and_o miracle_n which_o we_o see_v in_o all_o point_n conformable_a to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o apostle_n therefore_o peter_n argument_n seem_v most_o strong_a whereby_o he_o labour_v to_o persuade_v they_o to_o believe_v in_o christ_n according_a to_o moses_n say_n even_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v moses_n so_o little_o challenge_v to_o himself_o alone_o all_o authority_n of_o teach_v that_o he_o command_v we_o to_o give_v ear_n and_o credit_n to_o every_o prophet_n teach_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o have_v appoint_v all_o those_o that_o despise_v the_o prophet_n say_n to_o be_v punish_v with_o death_n therefore_o how_o much_o more_o ought_v you_o to_o believe_v christ_n who_o have_v teach_v we_o the_o will_n of_o god_n the_o father_n more_o plain_o and_o perfect_o than_o any_o man_n and_o in_o who_o most_o true_o be_v verify_v whatsoever_o moses_n say_v of_o that_o prophet_n and_o so_o peter_n trim_o touch_v the_o end_n and_o scope_n of_o his_o purpose_n that_o be_v to_o take_v out_o of_o their_o mind_n that_o preposterous_a religion_n which_o let_v and_o hinder_v they_o with_o the_o overmuch_o reverence_n of_o moses_n and_o the_o law_n and_o their_o peevish_a opinion_n and_o will_v the_o minister_n to_o silence_n be_v not_o ignorant_a that_o though_o they_o hold_v their_o peace_n the_o stone_n will_v preach_v as_o these_o many_o year_n they_o have_v prove_v and_o try_v by_o their_o pasquil_n yet_o they_o still_o think_v the_o crack_n of_o their_o bull_n and_o their_o vain_a and_o counterfeit_n lightning_n be_v of_o sufficient_a power_n to_o oppress_v the_o truth_n of_o christ_n now_o reign_v oh_o blind_a and_o foolish_a people_n which_o see_v not_o so_o great_a light_n oh_o wicked_a and_o devilish_a man_n which_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o all_o the_o world_n be_v not_o afraid_a to_o strive_v against_o god_n but_o they_o shall_v one_o day_n feel_v how_o unhappy_a a_o end_n they_o shall_v have_v who_o be_v like_a unto_o saul_n will_v not_o have_v david_n to_o wicked_a and_o hog_n of_o epicure_n hear_v which_o only_o profess_v a_o name_n of_o religion_n because_o they_o will_v not_o be_v take_v for_o profane_a and_o godless_a people_n these_o man_n can_v abide_v the_o word_n of_o god_n because_o it_o reprove_v their_o sin_n 3._o and_o wickedness_n as_o christ_n sometime_o say_v for_o they_o perceive_v that_o they_o must_v either_o change_v their_o
