several_a wicked_a man_n that_o have_v as_o large_a a_o share_n of_o temporal_a blessing_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o abraham_n isaac_n and_o jacob_n have_v great_a estate_n and_o be_v petty_a prince_n but_o pharaoh_n be_v a_o mighty_a prince_n in_o comparison_n of_o they_o and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o egypt_n which_o probable_o be_v the_o first_o and_o chief_a seat_n of_o idolatry_n be_v at_o the_o same_o time_n one_o of_o the_o most_o potent_a and_o flourish_a kingdom_n in_o the_o world_n and_o be_v blessed_v with_o a_o prodigious_a plenty_n whereby_o they_o be_v furnish_v with_o they_o very_o dear_a and_o their_o come_n thither_o be_v the_o occasion_n of_o a_o long_a and_o cruel_a bondage_n to_o jacob_n posterity_n so_o that_o we_o see_v that_o these_o good_a man_n have_v no_o such_o blessing_n but_o what_o be_v common_a with_o they_o to_o many_o other_o that_o be_v wicked_a and_o the_o blessing_n which_o god_n bestow_v upon_o they_o have_v great_a abatement_n by_o the_o intermixture_n of_o many_o and_o sore_a affliction_n it_o seem_v then_o upon_o the_o whole_a matter_n to_o be_v very_o plain_a that_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n in_o this_o world_n towards_o good_a man_n be_v so_o contrive_v that_o it_o may_v sufficient_o appear_v to_o those_o who_o wise_o consider_v the_o work_n of_o god_n that_o they_o be_v not_o neglect_v by_o he_o and_o yet_o that_o these_o outward_a blessing_n be_v so_o promiscuous_o dispense_v that_o no_o man_n can_v certain_o be_v conclude_v to_o be_v a_o good_a man_n from_o any_o happiness_n he_o enjoy_v in_o this_o life_n and_o the_o prosperity_n of_o good_a man_n be_v usual_o on_o purpose_n so_o shadow_v and_o mix_v with_o affliction_n as_o may_v just_o raise_v their_o hope_n to_o the_o expectation_n of_o a_o more_o perfect_a happiness_n and_o better_a reward_n than_o any_o they_o meet_v with_o in_o this_o world_n and_o if_o so_o than_o the_o general_a importance_n of_o this_o promise_n that_o god_n will_v be_v the_o god_n of_o good_a man_n must_v necessary_o signify_v something_o beyond_o this_o world_n because_o in_o this_o world_n there_o be_v not_o that_o clear_a difference_n universal_o make_v between_o good_a and_o bad_a man_n which_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o divine_a providence_n do_v require_v and_o which_o seem_v to_o be_v intend_v in_o the_o general_a sense_n of_o this_o promise_n for_o if_o this_o promise_n though_o personal_o make_v to_o abraham_n isaac_n and_o jacob_n be_v intend_v as_o the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o it_o be_v for_o a_o stand_a encouragement_n to_o good_a man_n in_o all_o age_n than_o it_o must_v contain_v in_o it_o this_o general_a truth_n that_o god_n will_v some_o time_n or_o other_o plentiful_o reward_v every_o good_a man_n that_o be_v he_o will_v do_v something_o far_o better_a for_o he_o than_o for_o any_o wicked_a man_n but_o if_o there_o be_v no_o life_n after_o this_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o reconcile_v this_o sense_n of_o it_o with_o the_o course_n of_o god_n providence_n and_o with_o the_o history_n of_o the_o bible_n and_o to_o make_v this_o out_o full_o and_o at_o once_o i_o will_v only_o produce_v that_o single_a instance_n of_o abel_n and_o cain_n abel_n offer_v to_o god_n a_o more_o excellent_a sacrifice_n than_o cain_n and_o he_o have_v this_o testimony_n that_o he_o please_v god_n which_o be_v in_o effect_n to_o declare_v
