full_a of_o these_o subtle_a essence_n which_o the_o natural_a heat_n afterward_o digest_v and_o refine_v in_o the_o vein_n to_o be_v make_v the_o instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o they_o there_o not_o any_o necessity_n that_o the_o veiny_n artery_n shall_v have_v so_o many_o obstacle_n to_o retain_v the_o impetuosity_n of_o the_o blood_n it_o carry_v in_o regard_n it_o must_v needs_o have_v leave_v much_o thereof_o after_o it_o have_v be_v cool_v and_o temperate_v by_o the_o air_n which_o be_v in_o the_o lung_n but_o however_o it_o be_v hence_o proceed_v the_o indispensable_a be_v deduce_v hence_o which_o may_v imply_v my_o not_o be_v of_o opinion_n that_o the_o air_n respire_v which_o be_v all_o full_a of_o these_o spirituous_a part_n exhale_v by_o all_o body_n do_v not_o furnish_v the_o vital_a spirit_n with_o some_o portion_n of_o themselves_o which_o
she_o notwithstanding_o these_o last_o reason_n whereto_o it_o be_v no_o hard_a matter_n to_o answer_v we_o must_v stick_v to_o the_o former_a which_o prove_v that_o it_o be_v the_o sensitive_a soul_n serviceable_a as_o to_o life_n sentiment_n motion_n nay_o reason_n itself_o and_o in_o the_o high_a meditation_n they_o be_v stir_v as_o well_o as_o in_o natural_a action_n they_o be_v like_o a_o instrument_n whereof_o divers_a artisan_n make_v use_v in_o several_a work_n for_o as_o the_o same_o pair_n of_o compass_n wherewith_o a_o mason_n have_v take_v his_o measure_n serve_v the_o geometrician_n to_o draw_v his_o figure_n and_o the_o astronomer_n to_o measure_v the_o heaven_n and_o the_o star_n so_o the_o spirit_n which_o have_v serve_v the_o natural_a faculty_n for_o the_o mean_a action_n of_o life_n be_v employ_v by_o the_o sensitive_a soul_n in_o the_o animal_n function_n and_o the_o understanding_n itself_o make_v use_v of_o they_o in_o operation_n of_o the_o high_a consequence_n but_o what_o their_o motion_n be_v not_o free_a in_o the_o passion_n as_o it_o may_v seem_v it_o ought_v to_o be_v if_o the_o sensitive_a appetite_n be_v director_n thereof_o as_o it_o be_v of_o voluntary_a motion_n it_o matter_n not_o since_o even_o the_o animal_n spirit_n which_o flow_v through_o the_o nerve_n to_o make_v those_o motion_n and_o no_o doubt_n be_v move_v by_o the_o sensitive_a appetite_n have_v not_o their_o motion_n more_o free_a then_o that_o which_o be_v make_v in_o the_o vein_n and_o artery_n the_o necessity_n of_o motion_n be_v many_o time_n find_v in_o the_o sensitive_a faculty_n as_o well_o as_o in_o the_o natural_a and_o though_o the_o muscle_n be_v the_o organ_n of_o free_a motion_n yet_o we_o find_v that_o respiration_n which_o be_v wrought_v by_o their_o mean_n be_v necessary_a that_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o heart_n which_o be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o composure_n of_o several_a muscle_n and_o receive_v a_o nerve_n from_o the_o brain_n to_o give_v it_o sentiment_n and_o motion_n be_v not_o to_o be_v rank_v among_o those_o that_o be_v voluntary_a nay_o the_o will_n itself_o notwithstanding_o that_o sovereign_a liberty_n which_o it_o thereby_o stir_v in_o regard_n it_o be_v a_o spiritual_a faculty_n which_o may_v act_v of_o itself_o without_o the_o assistance_n of_o any_o organ_n but_o it_o be_v to_o be_v observe_v that_o they_o must_v be_v very_o slight_a one_o for_o when_o they_o come_v to_o be_v of_o any_o force_n they_o fail_v not_o both_o of_o they_o to_o be_v move_v thereby_o as_o well_o as_o in_o the_o passion_n of_o she_o but_o she_o also_o excite_v sadness_n in_o the_o superior_a part_n in_o order_n to_o the_o same_o design_n and_o as_o if_o all_o that_o be_v not_o sufficient_a she_o many_o time_n raise_v a_o fever_n in_o the_o natural_a faculty_n to_o force_v away_o and_o destroy_v that_o enemy_n as_o to_o the_o passion_n of_o that_o inferior_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n there_o be_v not_o any_o one_o wherein_o the_o spirit_n be_v not_o stir_v but_o it_o be_v requisite_a they_o shall_v be_v violent_a ere_o they_o can_v move_v the_o heart_n for_o the_o case_n be_v not_o the_o same_o in_o they_o as_o in_o those_o of_o the_o other_o appetite_n which_o though_o ever_o so_o much_o incline_v to_o mediocrity_n be_v nevertheless_o capable_a of_o alter_v her_o motion_n according_o we_o find_v that_o in_o wound_n and_o swell_n the_o spirit_n have_v their_o recourse_n thither_o with_o a_o certain_a impetuosity_n yet_o so_o as_o there_o happen_v not_o any_o change_n in_o the_o beat_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o artery_n and_o there_o be_v considerable_a evacuation_n make_v in_o crisis_n without_o any_o alteration_n in_o those_o motion_n but_o in_o a_o fever_n which_o be_v the_o choler_n of_o the_o natural_a appetite_n in_o the_o consternation_n which_o nature_n be_v sometime_o subject_a to_o in_o malignant_a disease_n and_o in_o the_o agony_n immediate_o precede_v death_n there_o may_v be_v observe_v a_o remarkable_a alteration_n in_o the_o pulse_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o difference_n proceed_v from_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o vegetative_a faculty_n which_o be_v more_o material_a and_o consequent_o more_o heavy_a than_o the_o sensitive_a for_o as_o a_o slothful_a person_n engage_v himself_o only_o in_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v most_o easy_o do_v and_o never_o undertake_v the_o more_o difficult_a but_o when_o he_o be_v thereto_o constrain_v by_o necessity_n so_o that_o faculty_n which_o be_v move_v with_o some_o trouble_n think_v it_o enough_o in_o the_o light_a passion_n to_o stir_v the_o spirit_n because_o they_o be_v easy_o move_v but_o it_o attempt_v not_o therein_o the_o move_n of_o the_o heart_n by_o reason_n that_o be_v a_o engine_n stir_v with_o great_a difficulty_n unless_o it_o be_v when_o the_o evil_a seem_v considerable_a and_o that_o it_o think_v it_o requisite_a to_o employ_v all_o its_o organ_n and_o all_o its_o force_n towards_o the_o
