not_o or_o disturb_v other_o man_n belief_n with_o frivolous_a argument_n god_n the_o searcher_n of_o heart_n and_o punisher_n of_o evil_a thought_n contrary_a to_o mr._n hobbs_n his_o doctrine_n he_o certain_o as_o i_o say_v he_o must_v believe_v the_o authority_n that_o command_v and_o it_o be_v as_o true_a that_o he_o must_v believe_v that_o that_o authority_n command_v this_o act_n or_o else_o he_o can_v have_v no_o ground_n for_o his_o obedience_n this_o man_n have_v a_o mind_n to_o be_v quarrel_v at_o religion_n but_o can_v not_o find_v expression_n to_o do_v it_o but_o he_o prove_v his_o conclusion_n for_o say_v he_o man_n belief_n and_o interior_a cogitation_n be_v not_o subject_a to_o the_o command_n but_o only_o to_o the_o operation_n of_o god_n ordinary_a or_o extraordinary_a the_o vain_a and_o weak_a argument_n that_o ever_o be_v urge_v first_o in_o logic_n it_o can_v follow_v because_o they_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o operation_n of_o god_n they_o therefore_o be_v not_o subject_a to_o command_n as_o charity_n and_o all_o the_o restraint_n of_o exorbitant_a lust_n be_v subject_a to_o his_o operation_n be_v they_o not_o therefore_o subject_a to_o command_n this_o be_v a_o pitiful_a inference_n but_o then_o consider_v further_o that_o faith_n and_o the_o cogitation_n of_o man_n be_v command_v by_o god_n that_o faith_n be_v command_v first_o heb._n 11._o 6._o breach_n it_o tear_v the_o law_n in_o piece_n and_o be_v the_o great_a violation_n of_o it_o that_o may_v be_v to_o this_o purpose_n our_o saviour_n most_o clear_o john_n 3._o 18._o he_o who_o believe_v not_o be_v condemn_v already_o because_o he_o have_v not_o believe_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o only_o beget_v son_n of_o god_n so_o that_o according_a to_o mr._n hobbs_n his_o tenent_n here_o be_v a_o condemnation_n but_o no_o just_a one_o because_o not_o for_o the_o breach_n of_o some_o law_n there_o muâ—â—_n be_v therefore_o some_o divine_a law_n exact_v faith_n which_o this_o infidelity_n do_v break_v but_o then_o mr._n hobbs_n will_v reply_v to_o our_o saviour_n that_o faith_n be_v a_o gift_n and_o why_o do_v thou_o punish_v i_o for_o the_o want_n of_o that_o which_o be_v two_o particular_a case_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v as_o he_o conceit_n yet_o they_o be_v but_o particular_a case_n which_o concern_v those_o only_a affair_n which_o be_v under_o their_o proper_a management_n and_o there_o be_v no_o one_o word_n which_o point_v at_o they_o to_o make_v they_o precedent_n for_o other_o or_o to_o give_v a_o universal_a rule_n for_o all_o other_o second_o whereas_o he_o say_v that_o in_o a_o commonwealth_n a_o subject_a shall_v do_v thus_o as_o he_o set_v down_o in_o one_o of_o his_o instance_n to_o wit_n that_o of_o abraham_n there_o be_v no_o often_o when_o their_o king_n exact_v otherways_o but_o he_o give_v reason_n for_o what_o he_o have_v deliver_v for_o say_v he_o if_o man_n be_v at_o liberty_n to_o take_v for_o god_n commandment_n
