call_v unto_o fast_v therefore_o say_v he_o the_o child_n of_o the_o bride-chamber_n can_v mourn_v as_o long_o as_o the_o bridegroom_n be_v with_o they_o 3._o when_o the_o lord_n do_v withdraw_v his_o wont_a presence_n and_o usual_a comfort_n from_o we_o we_o be_v call_v to_o fast_v and_o mourn_v for_o the_o day_n shall_v come_v wherein_o the_o bridegroom_n shall_v be_v take_v from_o they_o and_o then_o shall_v they_o fast_v say_v he_o ver._n 16._o no_o man_n put_v a_o piece_n of_o new_a cloth_n unto_o a_o old_a garment_n for_o that_o which_o be_v put_v in_o to_o fill_v it_o up_o take_v from_o the_o garment_n and_o the_o rent_n be_v make_v worse_a 17._o neither_o do_v man_n put_v new_a wine_n into_o old_a bottle_n else_o the_o bottle_n break_v and_o the_o wine_n run_v out_o and_o the_o bottle_n perish_v but_o they_o put_v new_a wine_n into_o new_a bottle_n and_o both_o be_v preserve_v the_o second_o reason_n clothe_v with_o two_o similitude_n be_v this_o the_o strong_a exercise_n of_o extraordinary_a fast_n be_v no_o more_o fit_a for_o the_o tender_a and_o weak_a condition_n of_o my_o disciple_n then_o to_o put_v a_o piece_n of_o now_o stiff_a cloth_n upon_o a_o tender_a old_a that_o the_o work_n of_o god_n grace_n in_o young_a convert_n be_v very_o tender_a and_o easy_o
the_o preacher_n be_v sustain_v by_o the_o hearer_n christ_n esteem_v their_o sustenance_n to_o be_v no_o reward_n neither_o to_o be_v any_o thing_n considerable_a to_o hinder_v their_o bestow_n of_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v esteem_v a_o free_a gift_n for_o after_o he_o say_v free_o give_v he_o subjoin_v the_o work_n man_n be_v worthy_a of_o his_o meat_n 4._o as_o christ_n assure_v painful_a preacher_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o want_v so_o he_o give_v no_o order_n for_o sustenance_n of_o idle_a man_n for_o there_o be_v no_o servant_n of_o his_o speak_v of_o here_o but_o the_o workman_n only_o the_o workman_n be_v worthy_a of_o his_o meat_n vers._n 11._o and_o into_o whatsoever_o city_n or_o town_n you_o shall_v enter_v inquire_v who_o in_o it_o be_v worthy_a only_a person_n in_o who_o house_n minister_n shall_v choose_v to_o lodge_v for_o inquire_v say_v he_o he_o who_o in_o the_o city_n be_v worthy_a 2._o christ_n will_v have_v his_o servant_n maintain_v in_o a_o seemly_a way_n and_o not_o as_o beggar_n base_o go_v from_o house_n to_o house_n therefore_o say_v he_o abide_v in_o the_o house_n which_o be_v worthy_a till_o you_o go_v out_o of_o that_o place_n ver._n 12._o and_o when_o you_o come_v into_o a_o house_n salute_v it_o verse_n 13._o and_o if_o the_o house_n be_v worthy_a let_v your_o peace_n come_v upon_o it_o but_o if_o it_o be_v not_o worthy_a let_v your_o peace_n return_v to_o you_o our_o lord_n show_v they_o to_o make_v trial_n of_o the_o house_n fit_a for_o their_o lodging_n doct._n 1._o beside_o the_o good_a report_n that_o man_n have_v of_o their_o respect_n to_o religion_n christ_n will_v have_v his_o servant_n try_v they_o ere_o they_o trust_v they_o much_o and_o the_o mean_v whereby_o he_o will_v have_v they_o try_v be_v by_o their_o respect_n to_o the_o gospel_n and_o offer_v of_o peace_n through_o christ_n grace_n for_o every_o seem_a holy_a person_n be_v not_o a_o friend_n to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o grace_n therefore_o say_v he_o when_o you_o come_v to_o a_o house_n salute_v it_o that_o be_v offer_v peace_n by_o the_o gospel_n unto_o it_o 2._o no_o house_n be_v worthy_a in_o christ_n reckon_n but_o that_o which_o receive_v the_o offer_n of_o god_n peace_n by_o the_o gospel_n of_o grace_n through_o christ_n and_o unto_o such_o only_a christ_n allow_v peace_n for_o he_o say_v if_o the_o house_n be_v worthy_a let_v your_o peace_n according_a to_o your_o doctrine_n come_v upon_o it_o 3._o if_o any_o receive_v not_o the_o offer_n of_o peace_n by_o the_o gospel_n of_o grace_n in_o christ_n they_o be_v debar_v as_o unworthy_a or_o unfit_a to_o have_v the_o fellowship_n of_o christ_n servant_n or_o any_o benefit_n of_o the_o gospel_n therefore_o say_v he_o let_v your_o peace_n return_v unto_o you_o 4._o albeit_o the_o offer_n of_o christ_n peace_n do_v unto_o the_o refuser_n thereof_o no_o good_a yet_o shall_v it_o testifle_v of_o the_o fidelity_n of_o the_o servant_n of_o christ_n in_o offer_v peace_n for_o their_o part_n and_o so_o do_v good_a to_o the_o preacher_n therefore_o let_v your_o peace_n say_v he_o return_v to_o you_o ver._n 14._o and_o whosoever_o shall_v not_o where_o despiser_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v dwell_v shall_v bear_v witness_n against_o they_o albeit_o there_o be_v no_o other_o witness_n to_o be_v find_v hence_o learn_v that_o such_o as_o despise_v the_o gospel_n god_n shall_v despise_v they_o and_o cut_v they_o off_o from_o the_o society_n of_o himself_o and_o all_o his_o servant_n 2._o there_o be_v a_o appoint_a day_n when_o justice_n shall_v be_v execute_v to_o the_o full_a upon_o all_o the_o wicked_a and_o namely_o on_o the_o despiser_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o this_o be_v at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n say_v christ._n 3._o there_o shall_v be_v degree_n of_o torment_n in_o hell_n as_o there_o be_v degree_n of_o offender_n for_o the_o case_n of_o sodom_n shall_v be_v more_o tolerable_a then_o of_o some_o other_o 4._o the_o sin_n of_o a_o city_n refuse_v the_o gospel_n be_v great_a than_o the_o sin_n of_o sodom_n for_o so_o do_v the_o comparison_n of_o the_o refuser_n to_o hear_v christ_n messenger_n and_o of_o sodom_n import_n the_o reason_n whereof_o be_v because_o sodom_n have_v not_o the_o gospel_n and_o offer_v of_o god_n grace_n make_v unto_o they_o do_v not_o sin_n against_o such_o a_o convince_a light_n do_v not_o despise_v in_o so_o high_a a_o degree_n the_o remedy_n of_o sin_n as_o despiser_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v vers._n 16._o behold_v i_o send_v you_o forth_o as_o sheep_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o wolf_n be_v you_o therefore_o wise_a as_o serpent_n and_o harmless_a as_o dove_n the_o second_o reason_n though_o your_o danger_n be_v great_a yet_o remember_v you_o be_v in_o my_o service_n i_o send_v you_o out_o therefore_o care_v for_o no_o more_o but_o prudent_o and_o holy_o to_o carry_v yourselves_o in_o my_o service_n doct._n 1._o preacher_n must_v prepare_v themselves_o not_o only_o not_o to_o be_v receive_v by_o all_o to_o who_o they_o do_v offer_v the_o gospel_n but_o also_o to_o be_v persecute_v and_o put_v in_o hazard_n of_o their_o life_n for_o christ_n say_v i_o send_v you_o forth_o as_o sheep_n among_o wolf_n 2._o resolution_n must_v be_v make_v for_o the_o worst_a entertainment_n that_o can_v befall_v preacher_n that_o so_o the_o lesser_a cross_n may_v be_v the_o better_o endure_v even_o for_o what_o sheep_n may_v suffer_v of_o wolf_n to_o wit_n beastly_a cruelty_n without_o pity_n because_o that_o many_o preacher_n suffer_v of_o people_n behold_v say_v he_o i_o send_v you_o forth_o as_o sheep_n among_o wolf_n 3._o christ_n commission_n to_o his_o servant_n may_v encourage_v they_o and_o comfort_v they_o against_o whatsoever_o cross_n may_v befall_v they_o behold_v i_o send_v you_o forth_o 4._o except_o the_o great_a shepherd_n of_o soul_n defend_v his_o own_o servant_n they_o have_v no_o more_o strength_n to_o resist_v their_o enemy_n than_o sheep_n in_o comparison_n of_o wolf_n 5._o preacher_n must_v be_v wary_a and_o circumspect_a to_o keep_v themselves_o from_o harm_n of_o their_o wicked_a adversary_n that_o neither_o their_o body_n nor_o soul_n be_v hurt_v by_o they_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v be_v wise_a as_o serpent_n 6._o they_o must_v also_o take_v heed_n that_o they_o harm_v not_o the_o flock_n of_o their_o adversary_n by_o any_o passage_n of_o unfaithfulnesse_n in_o their_o call_n for_o it_o be_v say_v be_v harmless_a as_o dove_n verse_n 17._o but_o beware_v of_o man_n for_o they_o will_v deliver_v you_o up_o to_o the_o counsel_n and_o they_o will_v scourge_v you_o in_o their_o synagogue_n 18._o and_o you_o shall_v be_v bring_v before_o governor_n and_o king_n for_o my_o sake_n for_o a_o testimony_n against_o they_o and_o the_o gentile_n the_o three_o reason_n you_o be_v forewarn_v of_o witty_a and_o powerful_a enemy_n in_o church_n and_o state_n against_o you_o but_o remember_v it_o be_v for_o my_o sake_n and_o for_o a_o testimony_n against_o they_o and_o therefore_o fear_v not_o hence_o we_o learn_v 1._o that_o there_o be_v no_o less_o danger_n to_o christ_n servant_n from_o unrenewed_a man_n who_o seem_v to_o be_v civil_a and_o courteous_a and_o observant_a of_o the_o law_n than_o there_o be_v danger_n from_o the_o most_o beastly_a and_o cruel_a adversary_n therefore_o say_v he_o beware_v of_o generation_n of_o viper_n the_o worst_a sort_n of_o adder_n who_o be_v evil_a can_v not_o speak_v good_a and_o have_v their_o heart_n full_a of_o poison_n can_v not_o but_o speak_v as_o their_o heart_n dyte_v unto_o they_o hence_o learn_v 1._o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o unrenewed_a man_n to_o speak_v good_a far_o more_o impossible_a to_o do_v good_a for_o how_o can_v you_o that_o be_v evil_a speak_v good_a say_v he_o 2._o man_n who_o glory_n in_o their_o forebear_n as_o these_o man_n do_v in_o abraham_n isaac_n and_o jacob_n and_o do_v not_o follow_v their_o footstep_n be_v in_o 2._o whensoever_o evil_a do_v break_v forth_o in_o a_o man_n word_n for_o that_o time_n at_o least_o evil_a abound_v in_o the_o heart_n for_o out_o of_o the_o abundance_n of_o the_o heart_n the_o mouth_n speak_v ver._n 35._o a_o good_a man_n out_o of_o the_o treasure_n of_o his_o heart_n bring_v forth_o good_a thing_n and_o a_o evil_a man_n out_o of_o the_o evil_a treasure_n bring_v forth_o evil_a man_n for_o here_o such_o as_o the_o man_n be_v such_o be_v his_o treasure_n for_o a_o good_a man_n out_o of_o the_o good_a treasure_n and_o a_o evil_a man_n of_o the_o evil_a treasure_n of_o his_o heart_n bring_v forth_o etc._n etc._n ver._n 36._o but_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o that_o every_o idle_a word_n that_o man_n shall_v speak_v they_o shall_v give_v account_n thereof_o in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n thus_o christ_n have_v remove_v the_o pretext_n and_o conceit_n of_o the_o pharisee_n holiness_n now_o he_o remove_v the_o conceit_n of_o the_o smallness_n of_o their_o sin_n christ_n wherein_o learn_v 1._o that_o christ_n be_v exercise_v with_o divers_a sort_n of_o temptation_n by_o his_o adversary_n some_o open_o blaspheme_v some_o subtle_o insinuate_a as_o if_o they_o will_v deal_v reasonable_o with_o he_o master_n say_v these_o man_n we_o will_v see_v a_o sight_n as_o if_o they_o never_o have_v see_v any_o of_o his_o miracle_n before_o or_o as_o if_o upon_o the_o do_n of_o some_o miracle_n they_o mind_v to_o believe_v in_o he_o 2._o christ_n miracle_n be_v sufficient_a to_o clear_v that_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n for_o even_o his_o enemy_n can_v crave_v no_o more_o but_o to_o have_v a_o sign_n for_o say_v they_o we_o will_v see_v a_o sign_n from_o thou_o 3._o obstinate_a unbeliever_n will_v not_o be_v satisfy_v with_o any_o of_o god_n word_n or_o work_n but_o still_o will_v crave_v new_a one_o as_o these_o man_n after_o number_n of_o sign_n crave_v yet_o a_o sign_n 4._o misbeliever_n be_v also_o limitator_n of_o the_o holy_a one_o of_o israel_n nothing_o will_v satisfy_v these_o man_n but_o a_o sign_n at_o their_o direction_n we_o desire_v to_o see_v a_o sign_n say_v they_o ver._n 39_o but_o he_o answer_v and_o say_v to_o they_o a_o evil_a and_o adulterous_a generation_n seek_v after_o a_o sign_n and_o there_o shall_v no_o sign_n be_v give_v to_o it_o but_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o prophet_n jonas_n 40_o for_o as_o jonas_n be_v three_o day_n and_o three_o night_n in_o the_o whale_n belly_n so_o shall_v the_o son_n of_o man_n be_v three_o day_n and_o three_o night_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o earth_n our_o lord_n refuse_v to_o give_v they_o any_o sign_n save_o this_o that_o after_o they_o have_v kill_v he_o he_o shall_v rise_v from_o the_o dead_a as_o ionas_n come_v out_o of_o the_o whale_n belly_n and_o so_o they_o will_v
