high_a degree_n of_o faith_n which_o the_o apostle_n recommend_v to_o believer_n in_o his_o time_n by_o full_a assurance_n but_o assurance_n of_o faith_n though_o it_o be_v what_o assurance_n soever_o will_v by_o no_o mean_n down_o with_o your_o lordship_n in_o my_o writing_n you_o say_v 26._o i_o allow_v assurance_n of_o faith_n god_n forbid_v i_o shall_v do_v otherwise_o but_o than_o you_o ask_v why_o not_o certainty_n as_o well_o as_o assurance_n my_o lord_n i_o think_v it_o may_v be_v a_o reason_n not_o misbecome_v a_o poor_a layman_n and_o such_o as_o he_o may_v presume_v will_v satisfy_v that_o in_o this_o first_o head_n 27-31_a which_o we_o be_v upon_o your_o lordship_n have_v use_v the_o term_n certain_a and_o certainty_n near_o twenty_o time_n but_o without_o determine_v in_o any_o of_o they_o whether_o you_o mean_v knowledge_n or_o the_o full_a assurance_n of_o faith_n or_o any_o degree_n of_o believe_v though_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o in_o these_o page_n your_o lordship_n use_v certainty_n for_o all_o these_o three_o which_o ambiguous_a use_n of_o the_o main_a word_n in_o that_o discourse_n can_v but_o render_v your_o lordship_n sense_n clear_a and_o perspicuous_a and_o your_o argument_n very_o cogent_a and_o no_o doubt_n will_v do_v so_o to_o any_o one_o who_o will_v be_v but_o at_o the_o pain_n to_o reduce_v that_o one_o word_n to_o a_o clear_a determine_a of_o the_o grave_a and_o no_o other_o substance_n come_v out_o of_o the_o grave_a but_o what_o be_v in_o the_o grave_a any_o one_o must_v conclude_v that_o the_o soul_n unless_o it_o be_v in_o the_o never_o be_v in_o the_o grave_n may_v come_v out_o of_o it_o or_o that_o the_o soul_n be_v no_o substance_n but_o set_v aside_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o soul_n another_o thing_n that_o will_v make_v any_o one_o doubt_n

particle_n that_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o body_n by_o perspiration_n before_o the_o point_n of_o death_n be_v lay_v up_o in_o the_o grave_a but_o your_o lordship_n i_o find_v have_v a_o answer_n to_o this_o 37._o viz._n that_o by_o compare_v this_o with_o other_o place_n you_o find_v that_o the_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n above_o quote_v be_v to_o be_v understand_v of_o the_o substance_n those_o word_n you_o press_v the_o belief_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o same_o body_n by_o this_o strong_a argument_n that_o a_o substance_n can_v not_o upon_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o christ_n come_v out_o of_o the_o grave_a which_o be_v never_o in_o the_o grave_a there_o as_o far_o as_o i_o can_v understand_v your_o word_n your_o lordship_n argue_v that_o our_o saviour_n word_n must_v be_v understand_v of_o the_o particle_n in_o the_o grave_a unless_o as_o your_o lordship_n say_v one_o can_v make_v it_o out_o that_o a_o substance_n which_o never_o be_v in_o the_o grave_a but_o such_o a_o body_n make_v up_o of_o part_n of_o the_o particle_n sometime_o or_o other_o vital_o unite_v to_o the_o soul_n be_v no_o more_o the_o same_o body_n wherein_o the_o action_n be_v do_v in_o the_o distant_a part_n of_o the_o long_a sinner_n life_n than_o that_o be_v the_o same_o body_n in_o which_o a_o quarter_n or_o half_a or_o three_o quarter_n of_o the_o same_o
necessity_n of_o the_o same_o body_n answ._n when_o i_o understand_v what_o argument_n there_o be_v in_o these_o word_n to_o prove_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o same_o body_n without_o the_o will_v need_v to_o be_v better_o prove_v viz._n that_o our_o body_n must_v be_v raise_v the_o same_o just_a as_o our_o saviour_n be_v because_o st._n paul_n say_v if_o there_o be_v no_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a then_o be_v not_o christ_n rise_v for_o it_o may_v be_v a_o good_a consequence_n christ_n be_v rise_v and_o therefore_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a
