sacred_a scripture_n then_o also_o be_v know_v that_o we_o be_v unperfect_a and_o stubborn_a that_o through_o ourselves_o we_o can_v neither_o in_o all_o nor_o in_o part_n deserve_v any_o so_o rich_a duty_n to_o desire_v it_o to_o crave_v it_o of_o god_n by_o grace_n and_o to_o assay_v all_o mean_n possible_a to_o obtain_v it_o thou_o will_v say_v and_o what_o can_v we_o do_v to_o have_v it_o i_o answer_v and_o say_v that_o first_o we_o ought_v to_o labour_v to_o have_v a_o certain_a fervent_a desire_n and_o longing_n for_o faith_n without_o which_o we_o can_v hearty_o seek_v for_o it_o nor_o crave_v it_o of_o god_n and_o to_o have_v this_o we_o must_v consider_v how_o noble_a a_o thing_n faith_n be_v how_o rich_a fortunate_a mighty_a and_o needful_a to_o salvation_n forasmuch_o as_o without_o it_o not_o only_o we_o can_v not_o please_v god_n but_o we_o be_v most_o damnable_a it_o shall_v also_o be_v needful_a for_o the_o wicked_a to_o know_v that_o they_o be_v ignorant_a thereoff_n for_o that_o they_o appear_v to_o have_v it_o as_o it_o chance_v with_o the_o hypocrite_n superstitious_a people_n and_o false_a christian_n do_v not_o seek_v nor_o desire_v it_o yea_o they_o do_v not_o humble_v themselves_o to_o crave_v it_o of_o god_n &_o so_o the_o godly_a aught_o to_o consider_v that_o their_o faith_n be_v small_a for_o that_o a_o man_n do_v not_o breathe_v towards_o grace_n inasmuch_o as_o he_o do_v not_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o misery_n and_o of_o his_o weakness_n to_o ease_v himself_o and_o to_o this_o end_n serve_v this_o consideration_n that_o all_o our_o strength_n be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o obtain_v faith_n nor_o yet_o our_o wit_n our_o study_n nor_o the_o learning_n knowledge_n &_o wisdom_n of_o the_o world_n yea_o a_o carnal_a man_n by_o his_o corrupt_a nature_n be_v most_o ready_a to_o distrust_v in_o god_n &_o be_v so_o blind_a proud_a and_o affect_v to_o himself_o that_o with_o his_o foolish_a reason_n of_o a_o envious_a faith_n not_o only_o he_o do_v not_o go_v unto_o faith_n but_o make_v a_o bulwark_n against_o it_o 1._o jam._n 1._o thou_o ought_v therefore_o believe_v that_o only_a god_n who_o
