reason_n be_v give_v why_o infant_n shall_v be_v exclude_v from_o these_o promise_n unless_o any_o one_o shall_v say_v that_o infant_n be_v uncapable_a of_o these_o gift_n which_o this_o a._n r._n seem_v to_o hold_v in_o many_o place_n of_o his_o book_n which_o opinion_n be_v more_o worthy_a detestation_n than_o confutation_n be_v not_o infant_n capable_a of_o sin_n psal_n 51.5_o and_o therefore_o of_o sanctification_n shall_v the_o first_o adam_n disobedience_n be_v available_a to_o bring_v guilt_n and_o defilement_n and_o not_o christ_n obedience_n to_o procure_v remission_n and_o sanctification_n or_o be_v there_o no_o remedy_n for_o the_o poor_a infant_n of_o believe_a parent_n but_o if_o they_o die_v before_o they_o come_v to_o the_o use_n of_o reason_n they_o must_v necessary_o perish_v as_o be_v bear_v the_o child_n of_o wrath_n and_o be_v uncapable_a of_o remedy_n or_o do_v this_o man_n hold_v that_o they_o be_v brute_n without_o soul_n in_o that_o he_o compare_v baptise_v of_o infant_n to_o circumcise_n of_o camel_n or_o ass_n 21._o 2_o part_n pag._n 21._o be_v not_o these_o profane_a atheistical_a conceit_n contrary_a to_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n clear_a testimony_n of_o scripture_n and_o example_n as_o of_o john_n the_o baptist_n who_o be_v sanctify_v and_o move_v by_o the_o spirit_n even_o in_o his_o mother_n womb_n quest_n but_o what_o must_v we_o then_o believe_v that_o all_o the_o child_n of_o christian_n be_v already_o endue_v with_o the_o holy_a ghost_n teach_v of_o god_n and_o sanctify_a etc._n etc._n so_o soon_o as_o bear_v or_o in_o their_o infancy_n answ_n it_o be_v enough_o to_o prove_v their_o right_n to_o baptism_n that_o they_o be_v under_o the_o promise_n and_o interest_v therein_o by_o virtue_n of_o their_o parent_n be_v at_o least_o external_o in_o covenant_n so_o that_o whether_o they_o have_v already_o receive_v the_o spirit_n or_o have_v a_o promise_n thereof_o it_o suffice_v to_o give_v they_o a_o right_n to_o the_o sacrament_n as_o these_o be_v bid_v repent_v and_o so_o come_v under_o promise_n themselves_o with_o their_o child_n and_o then_o be_v baptize_v and_o afterward_o they_o shall_v receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n quest_n but_o must_v we_o think_v that_o all_o child_n of_o christian_a parent_n that_o be_v baptize_v either_o have_v or_o shall_v receive_v the_o spirit_n and_o so_o be_v save_v answ_n john_n the_o baptist_n and_o the_o apostle_n though_o they_o be_v not_o to_o believe_v that_o among_o those_o multitude_n who_o they_o baptize_v there_o be_v none_o but_o true_o have_v or_o shall_v receive_v the_o spirit_n for_o it_o be_v after_o prove_v by_o the_o event_n that_o many_o be_v hypocrite_n yet_o they_o turn_v away_o none_o because_o by_o
