unbelief_n can_v be_v the_o ground_n of_o damnation_n may_v as_o well_o be_v conclude_v hence_o as_o that_o nothing_o but_o faith_n can_v be_v the_o ground_n of_o baptism_n whereas_o not_o only_a unbelief_n but_o every_o sin_n be_v damnable_a and_o without_o repentance_n will_v bring_v damnation_n three_o i_o answer_v to_o this_o scripture_n that_o though_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o the_o by_o profess_v faith_n take_v hold_v of_o the_o covenant_n from_o which_o before_o they_o be_v alien_n and_o their_o family_n who_o be_v now_o receive_v into_o covenant_n with_o they_o yet_o it_o do_v not_o follow_v that_o the_o child_n of_o parent_n in_o covenant_n and_o so_o in_o covenant_n themselves_o shall_v be_v deny_v baptism_n though_o they_o want_v actual_a faith_n for_o there_o be_v not_o it_o be_v not_o lawful_a for_o woman_n to_o receive_v the_o lord_n supper_n for_o as_o much_o may_v be_v say_v for_o that_o as_o for_o this_o and_o against_o this_o as_o that_o but_o the_o by_o degree_n they_o may_v be_v cheat_v of_o all_o god_n ordinance_n and_o their_o comfort_n privilege_n and_o obedience_n on_o the_o same_o ground_n as_o also_o i_o will_v wish_v that_o the_o instruct_v by_o the_o church_n before_o they_o be_v baptize_v and_o must_v give_v a_o reason_n of_o their_o faith_n before_o they_o be_v admit_v to_o baptism_n and_o that_o they_o use_v to_o baptise_v such_o at_o two_o time_n of_o the_o year_n only_o i_o believe_v it_o will_v be_v apparent_a to_o those_o who_o look_v into_o these_o author_n that_o they_o speak_v not_o of_o the_o child_n of_o believe_a parent_n but_o that_o those_o catechumeni_fw-la who_o be_v first_o catechize_v and_o then_o baptize_v be_v pagan_n who_o live_v in_o those_o part_n where_o the_o church_n be_v which_o be_v quite_o out_o of_o covenant_n and_o therefore_o because_o god_n do_v not_o so_o miraculous_o and_o sudden_o bring_v such_o to_o the_o faith_n as_o in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n some_o space_n be_v require_v to_o instruct_v they_o in_o the_o principle_n of_o religion_n before_o they_o can_v be_v judge_v fit_a for_o baptism_n but_o as_o i_o say_v i_o may_v not_o meddle_v with_o the_o examination_n of_o his_o authority_n nor_o produce_v any_o humane_a authority_n for_o this_o see_v it_o have_v be_v sufficient_o confirm_v by_o argument_n draw_v from_o scripture_n ground_n though_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a thing_n i_o suppose_v to_o beat_v this_o adversary_n with_o his_o own_o weapon_n and_o it_o may_v be_v a_o useful_a work_n if_o some_o antiquary_n will_v take_v the_o pain_n to_o turn_v over_o the_o ancient_a writer_n and_o show_v what_o they_o have_v leave_v on_o record_n concern_v this_o
