poverty_n oppress_v thou_o cast_v thy_o care_n upon_o god_n for_o he_o care_v for_o thou_o we_o pray_v that_o god_n will_v forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n forgive_v as_o we_o forgive_v and_o yet_o we_o seek_v to_o take_v advantage_n of_o every_o small_a injury_n do_v unto_o we_o by_o our_o neighbour_n or_o brother_n and_o covet_v to_o revenge_v it_o by_o the_o extreme_a violence_n of_o force_n or_o law_n our_o hatred_n sometime_o grow_v so_o deadly_a as_o we_o cease_v not_o to_o persecute_v and_o prosecute_v our_o enemy_n to_o death_n even_o by_o our_o own_o death_n and_o yet_o we_o pray_v for_o equal_a measure_n at_o god_n hand_n and_o this_o petition_n they_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o have_v grant_v above_o all_o other_o for_o as_o they_o crave_v to_o be_v forgive_v as_o they_o forgive_v to_o the_o obtain_n of_o our_o salvation_n in_o christ_n nay_o further_o it_o be_v find_v by_o experience_n that_o faithful_a &_o often_o use_v of_o prayer_n be_v a_o most_o effectual_a mean_v to_o increase_v divine_a knowledge_n such_o knowledge_n as_o some_o learned_a and_o great_a doctor_n notwithstanding_o their_o deep_a school-learning_n have_v not_o attain_v unto_o for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o little_a difference_n between_o humane_a learning_n and_o spiritual_a knowledge_n &_o so_o much_o difference_n between_o carnal_a devotion_n and_o holy_a zeal_n the_o first_o may_v be_v in_o a_o reprobate_n the_o second_o in_o none_o but_o in_o the_o child_n of_o god_n the_o scribe_n and_o rabbi_n of_o the_o jew_n be_v great_a doctor_n yet_o they_o apprehend_v not_o the_o mystery_n of_o christ_n as_o do_v the_o apostle_n who_o receive_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o world_n but_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v of_o god_n 12._o the_o spirit_n which_o god_n child_n receive_v lift_v up_o sickness_n and_o a_o dangerous_a disease_n that_o such_o man_n be_v in_o it_o can_v but_o argue_v that_o they_o have_v no_o true_a knowledge_n of_o god_n so_o long_o as_o they_o live_v in_o this_o obscure_a yet_o a_o kind_n of_o voluntary_a darkness_n for_o it_o can_v be_v that_o a_o man_n can_v hear_v the_o word_n preach_v god_n promise_n pronounce_v and_o his_o threat_n denounce_v but_o if_o there_o be_v any_o feel_n in_o he_o he_o can_v but_o apprehend_v mercy_n or_o fear_v judgement_n if_o neither_o of_o these_o can_v provoke_v he_o to_o pray_v with_o feeling_n he_o be_v doubtless_o far_o go_v in_o a_o deadly_a lethargy_n and_o no_o carnal_a medicine_n can_v cure_v he_o nor_o mortal_a physician_n heal_v he_o he_o only_o must_v do_v it_o that_o cast_v out_o the_o seven_o devil_n
