they_o be_v indeed_o a_o common_a good_a the_o chariot_n and_o horseman_n the_o protection_n and_o defence_n the_o salvation_n and_o deliverance_n of_o those_o state_n and_o nation_n where_o they_o be_v the_o breach_n which_o wicked_a man_n make_v by_o sin_v they_o make_v up_o by_o pray_v to_o turn_v away_o the_o lord_n wrath_n that_o they_o be_v not_o consume_v we_o read_v how_o the_o lord_n complain_v that_o there_o be_v none_o find_v to_o make_v up_o the_o hedge_n to_o stand_v in_o the_o gap_n when_o he_o be_v come_v to_o destroy_v they_o ezek._n 22.30_o and_o it_o be_v say_v of_o moses_n psal_n 106.23_o that_o he_o stand_v before_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o breach_n that_o he_o shall_v not_o destroy_v the_o israelite_n which_o phrase_n of_o stand_v in_o the_o breach_n seem_v to_o bear_v a_o alusion_n to_o a_o army_n besiege_v a_o city_n who_o first_o plant_v their_o canon_n and_o make_v a_o breach_n and_o then_o come_v to_o the_o storm_n thus_o the_o lord_n deal_v many_o time_n with_o a_o people_n he_o encampe_v against_o they_o and_o batter_v they_o he_o make_v some_o breach_n upon_o they_o by_o trouble_n and_o division_n and_o then_o expect_v that_o some_o shall_v stand_v in_o the_o breach_n and_o beseech_v he_o not_o to_o storm_v they_o with_o the_o whole_a army_n of_o his_o judgement_n and_o the_o lord_n take_v it_o well_o when_o any_o of_o the_o valiant_a one_o when_o any_o of_o the_o worthy_n of_o his_o israel_n present_v themselves_o in_o the_o breach_n pray_v with_o utmost_a importunity_n that_o the_o lord_n will_v withdraw_v those_o evil_n which_o power_n at_o all_o in_o their_o hand_n no_o not_o so_o much_o as_o to_o help_v or_o save_v themselves_o may_v yet_o destroy_v many_o by_o the_o pureness_n of_o their_o hand_n that_o be_v they_o hold_v up_o pure_a hand_n in_o prayer_n may_v bring_v down_o destruction_n upon_o many_o who_o be_v wicked_a and_o the_o adversary_n of_o christ_n because_o their_o adversary_n but_o that_o which_o they_o most_o do_v and_o that_o which_o they_o worst_o of_o all_o desire_n to_o do_v be_v that_o land_n and_o island_n may_v be_v deliver_v by_o the_o pureness_n of_o their_o hand_n to_o shut_v up_o this_o point_n and_o chapter_n we_o see_v that_o as_o the_o saint_n be_v kill_v all_o the_o day_n long_o by_o the_o wicked_a world_n for_o the_o lord_n sake_n rom._n 8.36_o that_o be_v because_o they_o own_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o way_n so_o the_o wicked_a of_o the_o world_n be_v spare_v even_o all_o the_o day_n long_o or_o as_o often_o as_o they_o be_v spare_v by_o the_o lord_n for_o the_o sake_n of_o the_o saint_n that_o be_v because_o the_o lord_n own_v and_o approve_v they_o and_o their_o way_n and_o do_v therefore_o give_v peace_n to_o the_o world_n that_o so_o in_o their_o peace_n they_o his_o complaint_n first_o because_o he_o complain_v that_o his_o affliction_n be_v beyond_o all_o his_o complaint_n and_o that_o what_o he_o have_v say_v be_v but_o little_a to_o what_o he_o feel_v or_o to_o the_o greatness_n of_o his_o sorrow_n ver_fw-la 1_o 2._o evermo_o day_n be_v my_o complaint_n bitter_a my_o stroke_n be_v heavy_a than_o my_o groan_v these_o word_n be_v conceive_v to_o carry_v in_o they_o at_o least_o a_o intimation_n that_o job_n think_v himself_o too_o hardly_o deal_v with_o or_o that_o there_o be_v no_o just_a cause_n why_o he_o shall_v be_v prosecute_v and_o proceed_v against_o with_o so_o much_o severity_n by_o the_o continue_a and_o renew_v stroke_n of_o god_n upon_o he_o and_o indeed_o it_o can_v be_v deny_v that_o he_o whosoever_o he_o be_v be_v just_o judge_v as_o overbold_a with_o god_n who_o judge_v any_o of_o the_o deal_n of_o god_n with_o himself_o or_o with_o any_o other_o man_n over-severe_a but_o we_o shall_v find_v that_o though_o job_n complain_v often_o that_o his_o sorrow_n as_o to_o he_o be_v exceed_o great_a yet_o he_o never_o complain_v that_o as_o to_o god_n they_o be_v unjust_a second_o say_v they_o because_o he_o complain_v that_o he_o can_v not_o get_v admittance_n unto_o god_n nor_o audience_n with_o he_o which_o be_v a_o further_a aggravation_n of_o his_o sorrow_n this_o he_o prosecute_v from_o the_o three_o verse_n to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o nine_o o_o that_o i_o know_v where_o i_o may_v find_v he_o that_o i_o may_v come_v even_o to_o his_o seat_n i_o will_v order_v my_o cause_n before_o he_o and_o fill_v my_o mouth_n with_o argument_n i_o will_v know_v the_o word_n which_o he_o will_v answer_v i_o etc._n etc._n as_o if_o according_a to_o the_o scope_n of_o this_o exposition_n he_o have_v before_o he_o to_o be_v hear_v and_o to_o be_v relieve_v be_v often_o in_o scripture_n sense_n the_o same_o thing_n and_o always_o not_o to_o be_v hear_v signify_v as_o much_o as_o not_o to_o be_v relieve_v till_o the_o lord_n give_v we_o his_o ear_n he_o never_o give_v we_o his_o hand_n therefore_o job_n must_v needs_o think_v himself_o far_o from_o be_v help_v while_o he_o think_v that_o he_o be_v not_o hear_v three_o because_o he_o complain_v that_o the_o lord_n do_v thus_o afflict_v and_o try_v he_o when_o he_o already_o know_v what_o he_o be_v and_o what_o he_o will_v be_v after_o his_o trial_n by_o the_o sore_a affliction_n when_o he_o know_v that_o he_o be_v innocent_a &_o that_o he_o will_v continue_v &_o hold_v out_o in_o his_o innocency_n to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o will_v not_o be_v weary_a of_o well-doing_n though_o under_o the_o worst_a of_o suffering_n ver._n 10_o 11_o 12._o he_o know_v the_o way_n that_o i_o take_v etc._n etc._n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v the_o lord_n need_v not_o do_v this_o to_o try_v i_o for_o he_o know_v well_o enough_o who_o i_o be_o and_o the_o way_n that_o i_o go_v he_o know_v both_o the_o frame_n of_o my_o heart_n and_o the_o course_n of_o my_o life_n he_o know_v how_o it_o be_v with_o i_o now_o and_o that_o i_o shall_v be_v find_v such_o 〈◊〉_d i_o
have_v often_o profess_v myself_o to_o be_v when_o he_o have_v keep_v i_o to_o the_o utmost_a of_o his_o purpose_n in_o this_o fiery_a furnace_n of_o affliction_n when_o he_o have_v try_v i_o i_o shall_v come_v forth_o as_o gold_n that_o be_v when_o all_o be_v do_v he_o know_v that_o i_o shall_v hereafter_o approve_v myself_o upright_o in_o heart_n and_o that_o through_o his_o grace_n
