father_n as_o one_o that_o have_v so_o near_a relation_n and_o such_o dear_a affection_n to_o they_o as_o one_o who_o bowel_n of_o compassion_n yern_v towards_o they_o in_o their_o misery_n and_o want_n they_o will_v keep_v no_o silence_n they_o will_v give_v he_o no_o rest_n till_o he_o have_v answer_v they_o in_o mercy_n till_o he_o have_v give_v they_o the_o desire_n of_o their_o heart_n this_o assurance_n will_v make_v we_o hopeful_a of_o audience_n and_o success_n with_o god_n can_v a_o woman_n forget_v her_o child_n and_o not_o have_v compassion_n on_o the_o son_n of_o her_o womb_n say_v the_o prophet_n isa_n 99.65_o can_v she_o deny_v he_o when_o he_o beg_v and_o hang_v about_o she_o it_o be_v possible_a she_o may_v there_o may_v be_v such_o a_o mother_n in_o the_o world_n but_o god_n be_v no_o such_o father_n no_o he_o have_v infinite_o more_o compassion_n on_o his_o child_n oh_o what_o a_o matchless_a and_o unconquerable_a ground_n of_o hope_n be_v here_o to_o those_o that_o have_v this_o sweet_a assurance_n that_o god_n be_v their_o father_n what_o man_n be_v there_o who_o if_o his_o son_n ask_v bread_n say_v christ_n will_v give_v he_o a_o stone_n or_o if_o he_o send_v the_o harmless_a infant_n cry_v from_o your_o presence_n consult_v with_o your_o own_o heart_n and_o bowel_n can_v you_o do_v it_o and_o be_v not_o god_n as_o pitiful_a to_o he_o as_o you_o be_v to_o your_o child_n alas_o he_o be_v as_o tender_o affect_v to_o they_o that_o he_o see_v not_o their_o defect_n so_o as_o to_o slight_v they_o and_o reject_v they_o or_o their_o weak_a endeavour_n for_o they_o no_o as_o a_o father_n pity_v his_o child_n so_o the_o lord_n pity_v they_o that_o fear_v he_o psal_n 103.13_o they_o be_v without_o blame_n before_o he_o in_o love_n ephes_n of_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o behalf_n of_o his_o apostle_n and_o disciple_n discover_v first_o what_o he_o himself_o have_v do_v in_o reference_n to_o they_o and_o than_o what_o they_o have_v do_v in_o reference_n to_o he_o what_o they_o be_v both_o in_o relation_n to_o himself_o and_o to_o his_o father_n and_o where_o they_o be_v viz._n in_o such_o a_o place_n wherein_o they_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o his_o prayer_n these_o thing_n be_v interweave_v and_o commix_v and_o we_o must_v take_v they_o in_o our_o progress_n as_o we_o find_v they_o only_o this_o will_v be_v consider_v that_o all_o of_o they_o be_v premise_v by_o our_o saviour_n before_o he_o put_v up_o one_o petition_n for_o they_o to_o show_v what_o cause_n there_o be_v why_o they_o shall_v be_v remember_v in_o his_o the_o person_n to_o who_o he_o have_v make_v know_v his_o father_n name_n viz._n the_o man_n which_o he_o have_v give_v he_o out_o of_o the_o world_n for_o open_v of_o the_o former_a we_o must_v examine_v and_o resolve_v what_o be_v intend_v by_o the_o father_n name_n which_o christ_n affirm_v here_o he_o have_v make_v know_v i_o have_v manifest_v thy_o name_n some_o think_v the_o meaning_n manifest_v thy_o name_n unto_o the_o man_n which_o thou_o have_v give_v i_o out_o of_o the_o world_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o evangelist_n affirm_v of_o he_o joh._n 1.18_o no_o man_n be_v some_o resemblance_n of_o he_o in_o the_o lord_n christ_n so_o that_o he_o may_v be_v see_v in_o he_o it_o be_v true_a indeed_o that_o jesus_n christ_n as_o god_n be_v the_o invisible_a image_n of_o god_n and_o thus_o he_o be_v the_o very_a picture_n of_o the_o father_n heb._n 1.3_o but_o as_o he_o have_v assume_v our_o flesh_n he_o be_v the_o visible_a image_n of_o god_n and_o this_o be_v clear_o the_o apostle_n meaning_n when_o he_o say_v he_o be_v the_o image_n of_o the_o invisible_a god_n his_o purpose_n be_v not_o to_o declare_v how_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o invisible_a image_n of_o god_n the_o father_n from_o eternity_n but_o visible_a to_o we_o in_o time_n and_o hence_o he_o say_v not_o simple_o who_o be_v the_o image_n of_o god_n
thy_o will_n for_o thy_o law_n be_v in_o my_o heart_n lord_n we_o delight_v to_o pray_v read_v hear_v perform_v religious_a duty_n it_o be_v our_o meat_n and_o drink_n to_o do_v thy_o will_n for_o not_o value_v such_o a_o liberty_n you_o will_v not_o swear_v and_o be_v unclean_a and_o run_v out_o into_o all_o excess_n of_o riot_n if_o you_o may_v because_o your_o spirit_n have_v by_o grace_n again_o be_v not_o to_o keep_v it_o but_o to_o lose_v it_o alas_o how_o many_o such_o be_v there_o among_o we_o in_o these_o latter_a time_n who_o for_o a_o while_o be_v very_o diligent_a and_o instant_a in_o the_o study_n of_o the_o scripture_n seem_v to_o be_v very_o cautious_a and_o exact_a to_o frame_v their_o life_n in_o every_o thing_n according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o that_o they_o will_v not_o vary_v from_o it_o in_o the_o least_o particular_a or_o if_o they_o find_v themselves_o at_o any_o time_n in_o any_o thing_n to_o swerve_v from_o the_o direction_n of_o the_o rule_n they_o will_v judge_v themselves_o for_o it_o but_o now_o the_o word_n the_o rule_n itself_o be_v lay_v aside_o as_o a_o unnecessary_a and_o a_o useless_a thing_n as_o if_o it_o be_v not_o worthy_a the_o keep_n any_o long_o there_o be_v no_o care_n at_o all_o to_o walk_v by_o it_o when_o there_o be_v gross_a and_o horrid_a deviation_n from_o it_o they_o be_v not_o look_v upon_o as_o matter_n of_o humiliation_n or_o contrition_n in_o the_o least_o degree_n i_o wish_v that_o such_o will_v serious_o consider_v with_o themselves_o how_o christ_n shall_v own_v they_o in_o the_o latter_a day_n how_o he_o shall_v plead_v before_o his_o father_n for_o they_o that_o they_o have_v keep_v his_o word_n now_o my_o belove_a lay_v these_o thing_n to_o heart_n and_o never_o rest_n till_o you_o have_v get_v this_o character_n of_o those_o that_o be_v bestow_v on_o jesus_n christ_n by_o the_o donation_n of_o the_o father_n never_o satisfy_v yourselves_o till_o you_o keep_v the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o your_o life_n by_o obey_v it_o till_o you_o keep_v it_o whole_o and_o till_o you_o keep_v it_o cordial_o and_o till_o you_o keep_v it_o constant_o and_o then_o there_o be_v a_o blessing_n pour_v out_o upon_o you_o by_o the_o mouth_n of_o christ_n himself_o bless_a be_v they_o that_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o keep_v it_o that_o be_v that_o do_v not_o hear_v it_o soul_n so_o that_o if_o any_o part_n be_v mortify_v and_o if_o the_o soul_n give_v over_o to_o enliven_v it_o it_o be_v no_o more_o to_o be_v esteem_v a_o member_n notwithstanding_o its_o external_a and_o corporeal_a inherence_n to_o the_o body_n so_o though_o the_o saint_n be_v far_o from_o one_o another_o in_o regard_n of_o place_n yet_o they_o be_v close_o knit_v together_o by_o the_o same_o the_o faithful_a say_v that_o they_o be_v knit_v together_o in_o love_n col._n 2.2_o the_o term_n there_o use_v import_v such_o a_o knit_n as_o be_v between_o the_o divers_a part_n and_o piece_n of_o believe_v whether_o elect_a unbeliever_n or_o reprobate_v unbeliever_n will_v need_v a_o little_a brief_o to_o be_v inquire_v and_o resolve_v some_o of_o no_o small_a authority_n conceive_v that_o by_o the_o world_n be_v mean_v elect_a unbeliever_n such_o as_o do_v not_o then_o believe_v but_o shall_v believe_v in_o after_o time_n conceive_v it_o with_o a_o save_n and_o a_o justify_v faith_n and_o that_o the_o rather_o for_o christ_n disciple_n unity_n among_o themselves_o and_o hence_o he_o pray_v that_o they_o may_v all_o be_v one_o as_o thou_o father_n etc._n etc._n that_o the_o world_n may_v believe_v that_o thou_o send_v i_o but_o if_o our_o saviour_n have_v intend_v justify_v faith_n in_o these_o word_n in_o probability_n he_o will_v have_v say_v that_o the_o world_n may_v believe_v in_o i_o they_o be_v but_o poor_a believer_n that_o come_v no_o further_o then_o bare_o to_o assent_v to_o this_o that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v send_v of_o god_n the_o father_n a_o reprobate_n may_v do_v this_o beside_o which_o carry_v i_o exceed_o i_o think_v the_o world_n be_v here_o apparent_o oppose_v to_o such_o as_o do_v believe_v and_o shall_v believe_v with_o a_o justify_v faith_n our_o saviour_n mention_n it_o as_o opposite_a to_o both_o these_o in_o the_o first_o place_n you_o know_v he_o pray_v for_o such_o as_o do_v believe_v when_o he_o make_v this_o prayer_n and_o then_o for_o such_o as_o shall_v believe_v in_o after_o time_n neither_o pray_v i_o for_o these_o only_a but_o for_o they_o also_o that_o shall_v believe_v on_o i_o that_o they_o may_v all_o be_v one_o etc._n etc._n that_o the_o world_n who_o neither_o do_v believe_v nor_o shall_v believe_v with_o a_o justify_v faith_n may_v yet_o by_o this_o mean_n be_v so_o far_o convince_v as_o and_o make_v they_o look_v with_o a_o better_a eye_n on_o christ_n and_o on_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n when_o they_o that_o teach_v it_o and_o profess_v it_o harmonious_o agree_v among_o themselves_o and_o hence_o be_v this_o petition_n of_o our_o saviour_n here_o that_o they_o may_v all_o be_v one_o etc._n etc._n that_o so_o the_o world_n although_o it_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o i_o yet_o see_v the_o consent_n and_o love_n and_o unity_n of_o my_o disciple_n of_o they_o that_o own_o i_o and_o profess_v i_o may_v be_v even_o force_v to_o acknowledge_v and_o confess_v that_o i_o be_o send_v of_o god_n that_o my_o doctrine_n be_v of_o god_n and_o that_o i_o be_o not_o as_o the_o world_n be_v apt_a to_o think_v a_o seducer_n and_o impostor_n q.d._n if_o my_o disciple_n be_v
