curious_o and_o scrupulous_o to_o search_v out_o the_o reason_n why_o such_o and_o such_o virtue_n be_v liken_v to_o these_o or_o those_o piece_n of_o armour_n as_o for_o example_n why_o he_o call_v profess_v other_o understand_v hereby_o truth_n and_o uprightness_n of_o heart_n or_o the_o integrity_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n whereby_o we_o perform_v all_o duty_n of_o religion_n belong_v to_o more_o excellent_a substance_n so_o the_o flesh_n be_v mix_v with_o the_o spirit_n though_o it_o be_v in_o great_a quantity_n it_o do_v not_o give_v the_o name_n to_o we_o and_o our_o action_n but_o the_o spirit_n as_o be_v our_o most_o excellent_a and_o worthy_a part_n and_o of_o it_o we_o be_v call_v spiritual_a regenerate_v and_o new_a man_n though_o the_o least_o part_n be_v spiritual_a regenerate_v and_o renew_v if_o therefore_o we_o be_v regenerate_v and_o have_v in_o we_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o the_o grace_n thereof_o in_o the_o least_o measure_n we_o may_v bold_o say_v with_o paul_n that_o it_o be_v no_o more_o we_o that_o do_v offend_v god_n but_o sin_n that_o dwell_v in_o we_o neither_o shall_v we_o receive_v punishment_n but_o the_o flesh_n that_o be_v our_o shall_v the_o spiritual_a man_n grow_v up_o in_o grace_n and_o goodness_n till_o our_o corruption_n be_v by_o little_a and_o little_o mortify_v and_o in_o the_o end_n full_o abolish_v by_o death_n we_o shall_v be_v perfect_a man_n in_o christ_n live_v a_o spiritual_a and_o everlasting_a life_n in_o all_o glory_n and_o happiness_n in_o his_o kingdom_n when_o therefore_o the_o lord_n suffer_v in_o he_o they_o will_v be_v acceptable_a unto_o god_n and_o he_o will_v merciful_o grant_v our_o petition_n §_o sect._n 4_o four_o whereas_o other_o complain_v that_o their_o mind_n be_v carry_v away_o with_o worldly_a distraction_n and_o wander_a imagination_n when_o they_o be_v make_v their_o prayer_n unto_o god_n prayer_n consolation_n for_o such_o as_o bewail_v their_o distraction_n and_o wander_a thought_n in_o prayer_n they_o be_v to_o know_v that_o this_o befall_v also_o even_o the_o dear_a child_n of_o god_n partly_o through_o their_o own_o corruption_n and_o partly_o through_o the_o malice_n of_o satan_n who_o labour_v most_o to_o interrupt_v we_o in_o those_o holy_a exercise_n which_o he_o know_v most_o profitable_a and_o effectual_a for_o our_o salvation_n whereof_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o though_o diverse_a hour_n together_o we_o can_v talk_v of_o worldly_a affair_n and_o hear_v the_o speech_n of_o other_o without_o any_o distraction_n of_o mind_n or_o think_v of_o any_o thing_n but_o of_o the_o subject_n of_o our_o present_a speech_n yet_o when_o we_o hear_v god_n speak_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n or_o when_o we_o speak_v unto_o god_n in_o prayer_n and_o supplication_n our_o mind_n wander_v hither_o and_o thither_o though_o we_o strive_v never_o so_o much_o to_o contain_v they_o because_o through_o our_o natural_a corruption_n we_o be_v soon_o weary_a of_o these_o holy_a exercise_n and_o satan_n be_v still_o at_o hand_n to_o suggest_v into_o our_o mind_n wander_v thought_n in_o which_o we_o take_v most_o delight_n but_o this_o shall_v not_o discourage_v we_o from_o take_v in_o hand_n these_o holy_a action_n but_o rather_o the_o consideration_n hereof_o shall_v strong_o move_v and_o provoke_v we_o to_o more_o earnestness_n care_n and_o diligence_n so_o as_o satan_n may_v not_o prevail_v against_o we_o &_o if_o notwithstanding_o sometime_o nay_o often_o we_o receive_v a_o foil_n let_v it_o be_v a_o
