praise_n of_o god_n that_o they_o will_v not_o be_v at_o the_o charge_n to_o buy_v those_o book_n nor_o trouble_v themselves_o to_o read_v they_o and_o you_o give_v your_o away_o we_o see_v we_o touch_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n dwell_v rich_o in_o we_o to_o which_o you_o may_v have_v add_v in_o all_o wisdom_n in_o those_o who_o sing_v spiritual_o it_o be_v absolute_o necessary_a but_o that_o soul-enriching_a indwelling_a word_n of_o christ_n than_o in_o preach_v prayer_n meditation_n etc._n etc._n the_o word_n of_o christ_n ought_v to_o dwell_v in_o we_o rich_o in_o all_o wisdom_n as_o dr._n wright_n show_v that_o so_o we_o may_v know_v when_o and_o how_o to_o pray_v when_o and_o what_o to_o preach_v when_o and_o how_o to_o hear_v when_o and_o how_o to_o read_v when_o and_o how_o to_o meditate_v and_o when_o and_o how_o spiritual_o to_o sing_v david_n psalm_n or_o other_o scripture_n hymn_n and_o spiritual_a song_n many_o excellent_a duty_n as_o he_o show_v p._n 63._o may_v be_v spoil_v in_o the_o observation_n of_o they_o there_o may_v be_v a_o pray_v which_o be_v sin_n read_v and_o not_o consider_v hear_v a_o favour_n of_o death_n partake_v of_o the_o lord_n supper_n to_o judgement_n give_v all_o to_o the_o poor_a and_o profit_v nothing_o and_o a_o sing_n of_o god_n praise_n and_o soon_o forget_v his_o work_n or_o without_o grace_n in_o the_o heart_n or_o be_v ignorant_a of_o the_o soul-enriching_a word_n and_o destitute_a of_o the_o spirit_n therefore_o as_o sing_v so_o all_o other_o duty_n ought_v to_o be_v perform_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o with_o understanding_n and_o grace_n in_o the_o heart_n to_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o a_o right_n sing_v of_o scripture-psalm_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v needful_a the_o word_n of_o christ_n dwell_v in_o we_o rich_o in_o all_o wisdom_n not_o as_o touch_v the_o bring_v forth_o of_o a_o psalm_n as_o to_o the_o matter_n of_o it_o so_o much_o as_o to_o a_o spiritual_a sing_n of_o that_o psalm_n with_o grace_n wisdom_n and_o divine_a influence_n sing_v psalm_n say_v he_o be_v to_o be_v reverent_o perform_v for_o god_n glory_n and_o honour_n and_o not_o for_o the_o please_a ourselves_o so_o that_o one_o must_v suit_v his_o inward_a thought_n to_o the_o matter_n if_o it_o be_v of_o praise_n to_o god_n our_o heart_n must_v be_v elevate_v and_o cheerful_a if_o in_o the_o psalm_n or_o hymn_n petition_n be_v contain_v fervent_a if_o threaten_v great_a awe_n of_o god_n if_o deliverance_n raise_v hope_n if_o judgement_n fear_n if_o duty_n holy_a purpose_n to_o obey_v if_o promise_n to_o believe_v if_o prophecy_n expectation_n thus_o the_o word_n in_o all_o wisdom_n shall_v dwell_v in_o we_o that_o so_o we_o may_v know_v how_o to_o sing_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o our_o own_o instruction_n comfort_n and_o consolation_n as_o in_o other_o duty_n some_o have_v late_o tell_v you_o that_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n be_v to_o be_v in_o we_o rich_o as_o well_o to_o help_v we_o to_o compile_v a_o scripture_n hymn_n as_o to_o compile_v a_o scripture_n sermon_n but_o we_o conclude_v it_o ought_v to_o dwell_v in_o all_o rich_o as_o in_o one_o not_o so_o much_o as_o we_o say_v afore_o to_o bring_v forth_o a_o psalm_n as_o to_o a_o right_a spiritual_n sing_v of_o psalm_n hymn_n and_o divine_a song_n it_o be_v a_o great_a mistake_n to_o suppose_v the_o spirit_n ought_v so_o to_o dwell_v rich_o in_o we_o as_o immediate_o to_o inspire_v we_o to_o bring_v forth_o a_o psalm_n both_o matter_n manner_n and_o tune_v in_o a_o extraordinary_a sort_n 1._o because_o we_o be_v exhort_v to_o let_v it_o dwell_v in_o we_o rich_o it_o be_v press_v upon_o the_o saint_n in_o general_a as_o their_o duty_n so_o to_o be_v fill_v with_o it_o special_a gift_n be_v only_o give_v to_o some_o and_o not_o teach_v as_o a_o duty_n to_o be_v attain_v by_o all_o but_o as_o a_o promise_n give_v to_o some_o in_o particular_a as_o the_o spirit_n distribute_v to_o every_o man_n that_o have_v they_o as_o he_o please_v 2._o nor_o can_v it_o be_v prove_v the_o matter_n of_o the_o psalm_n speak_v of_o in_o 1_o cor._n 14._o be_v immediateiy_a give_v when_o they_o be_v meet_v together_o but_o they_o have_v a_o doctrine_n have_v a_o psalm_n etc._n etc._n when_o first_o they_o come_v together_o 1_o cor._n 14.26_o how_o be_v it_o brethren_n when_o you_o come_v together_o every_o one_o of_o you_o have_v a_o psalm_n have_v a_o doctrine_n etc._n etc._n they_o be_v not_o to_o wait_v for_o they_o but_o have_v they_o ready_a so_o that_o the_o church_n be_v not_o at_o uncertainty_n about_o they_o which_o may_v be_v a_o psalm_n of_o david_n we_o read_v of_o no_o other_o so_o call_v and_o they_o may_v bring_v it_o forth_o in_o some_o extraordinary_a manner_n and_o may_v be_v in_o a_o unknown_a tongue_n which_o they_o be_v not_o permit_v to_o do_v unless_o there_o be_v a_o interpreter_n that_o so_o other_o may_v join_v with_o he_o that_o have_v it_o for_o that_o word_n when_o i_o pray_v i_o will_v pray_v with_o the_o spirit_n and_o with_o the_o understanding_n also_o do_v not_o mean_v only_o when_o he_o be_v alone_o but_o when_o in_o the_o church_n that_o other_o may_v pray_v with_o he_o and_o so_o he_o will_v when_o he_o sing_v sing_v with_o the_o spirit_n and_o with_o the_o understanding_n
