we_o be_v to_o understand_v the_o general_a and_o therefore_o in_o this_o platform_n of_o prayer_n his_o purpose_n be_v to_o show_v how_o few_o and_o small_a a_o number_n of_o word_n we_o must_v use_v in_o prayer_n contrary_a to_o the_o vain_a babble_n of_o the_o pharise_n &_o of_o the_o heathen_a who_o be_v to_o be_v call_v upon_o or_o to_o who_o we_o must_v direct_v our_o prayer_n with_o what_o confidence_n we_o must_v pray_v how_o and_o for_o what_o cause_v what_o thing_n we_o be_v to_o ask_v in_o what_o order_n by_o what_o mean_a and_o for_o what_o end_n and_o thus_o be_v all_o the_o principal_a point_n which_o be_v require_v in_o true_a prayer_n contain_v in_o this_o platform_n so_o that_o it_o be_v both_o true_o and_o fine_o say_v of_o austin_n in_o a_o epistle_n to_o proba_n we_o have_v liberty_n in_o pray_v to_o use_v other_o word_n so_o that_o we_o say_v the_o same_o thing_n which_o this_o prayer_n contain_v but_o we_o have_v not_o liberty_n to_o say_v other_o diverse_a or_o contrary_a thing_n and_o this_o it_o be_v which_o matthew_n say_v cap._n 6._o v._n 9_o thus_o or_o after_o this_o manner_n pray_v you_o and_o that_o say_v of_o christ_n record_v by_o s._n luke_n 11._o v._o 2._o when_o you_o pray_v say_v be_v all_o one_o with_o this_o but_o here_o austin_n move_v this_o objection_n if_o we_o must_v not_o use_v many_o word_n in_o prayer_n for_o that_o our_o heart_n before_o god_n &_o to_o ask_v something_o of_o he_o but_o no_o man_n do_v true_o ask_v any_o thing_n which_o desire_v not_o the_o same_o and_o desire_n be_v a_o affection_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o therefore_o though_o he_o utter_v with_o his_o mouth_n the_o best_a word_n that_o can_v be_v unless_o there_o be_v also_o a_o lift_n up_o of_o the_o mind_n with_o attention_n and_o devotion_n thus_o in_o luke_n when_o you_o pray_v say_v but_o it_o be_v for_o our_o sake_n and_o for_o our_o prayer_n which_o be_v careful_o to_o be_v consider_v that_o we_o may_v learn_v to_o use_v vocal_a prayer_n well_o and_o profitable_o for_o our_o mind_n do_v not_o thorough_o consider_v and_o regard_v those_o thing_n which_o we_o want_v or_o be_v to_o ask_v especial_o if_o they_o be_v spiritual_a and_o pertain_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o the_o word_n which_o we_o use_v in_o pray_v do_v by_o a_o kind_n of_o advertisement_n lead_v we_o to_o that_o consideration_n that_o so_o the_o desire_n of_o our_o heart_n may_v be_v right_o inform_v now_o the_o heart_n in_o prayer_n ought_v to_o be_v penitent_a and_o humble_a but_o because_o we_o do_v for_o the_o most_o part_n rush_v upon_o this_o exercise_n of_o prayer_n without_o due_a consideration_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o unworthines_n therefore_o the_o rehearse_n of_o word_n be_v profitable_a whereunto_o if_o the_o
