do_v what_o we_o minister_n can_v to_o the_o contrary_a mingle_v themselves_o confuse_o with_o the_o sound_n by_o which_o mean_v its_o more_o than_o manifest_a many_o thousand_o have_v perish_v in_o this_o city_n and_o suburb_n it_o therefore_o lay_v upon_o he_o as_o supreme_a magistrate_n and_o god_n lieutenant_n to_o look_v to_o the_o life_n as_o well_o as_o to_o the_o soul_n of_o all_o his_o people_n and_o to_o take_v order_n that_o the_o fast_n ordain_v for_o the_o better_n of_o the_o soul_n shall_v not_o so_o be_v use_v as_o to_o tend_v to_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o body_n leave_v we_o therefore_o in_o this_o distress_a city_n the_o lord_n day_n or_o sunday_n for_o our_o soul_n which_o be_v of_o divine_a institution_n can_v admit_v no_o dispensation_n by_o humane_a power_n and_o still_o commend_v and_o command_v we_o that_o day_n to_o fast_v &_o pray_v in_o private_a and_o all_o the_o kingdom_n else_o to_o do_v it_o in_o public_a for_o we_o and_o for_o the_o save_n of_o our_o life_n and_o to_o avoid_v the_o tempt_a and_o provoke_v of_o god_n have_v wise_o forbid_v all_o other_o public_a meeting_n of_o dangerous_a concourse_n in_o place_n infect_v till_o order_n can_v be_v take_v which_o be_v no_o easy_a thing_n to_o do_v to_o keep_v the_o sound_n and_o sick_a asunder_o now_o as_o all_o those_o that_o be_v well_o be_v notwithstanding_o to_o repair_v to_o the_o church_n to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o public_a prayer_n &_o the_o holy_a service_n appoint_v for_o that_o day_n so_o for_o a_o help_n of_o humiliation_n and_o holy_a devotion_n to_o they_o that_o stay_v at_o home_n whereof_o also_o many_o thousand_o family_n especial_o in_o our_o suburb_n be_v not_o able_a to_o buy_v the_o book_n i_o have_v therefore_o be_v persuade_v to_o make_v public_a this_o meditation_n confession_n and_o prayer_n which_o in_o these_o day_n of_o public_a calamity_n i_o walk_v hourly_o through_o the_o valley_n of_o the_o shadow_n of_o death_n bury_v forty_o fifty_o sometime_o sixty_o a_o day_n and_o in_o the_o totall_n more_o than_o two_o thousand_o already_o i_o pour_v out_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o my_o god_n first_o in_o private_a for_o myself_o afterward_o for_o the_o use_n of_o those_o many_o thousand_o sick_a soul_n that_o be_v or_o have_v be_v in_o my_o great_a poor_a parish_n and_o last_o that_o hereby_o i_o may_v offer_v some_o sacrifice_n and_o special_a piece_n of_o service_n in_o way_n of_o holy_a thankfulness_n to_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n who_o have_v hitherto_o please_v to_o preserve_v i_o and_o my_o brethren_n the_o pastor_n of_o this_o city_n by_o his_o own_o hand_n and_o power_n beyond_o all_o humane_a help_n and_o hope_n walk_v continual_o even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o fiery_a flame_n always_o in_o danger_n and_o work_n of_o god_n if_o we_o shall_v sit_v still_o and_o swallow_v and_o superficial_o pass_v over_o and_o not_o commend_v it_o to_o our_o brethren_n in_o the_o country_n who_o turn_n must_v follow_v god_n know_v how_o soon_o as_o sure_a as_o god_n have_v begin_v with_o we_o and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o preserve_v the_o memory_n of_o it_o and_o represent_v it_o to_o posterity_n for_o their_o instruction_n and_o that_o the_o generation_n yet_o unborn_a may_v praise_v the_o lord_n all_o holy_a man_n will_v accuse_v we_o god_n church_n will_v censure_v we_o our_o own_o conscience_n will_v condemn_v we_o and_o god_n himself_o take_v vengeance_n of_o we_o as_o most_o unthankful_a caitiff_n even_o monster_n of_o mankind_n &_o unworthy_a to_o breath_n upon_o the_o earth_n be_v therefore_o serious_a and_o continual_a consideration_n the_o now_o most_o lamentable_a case_n of_o this_o late_a so_o flourish_v a_o city_n and_o of_o this_o whole_a kingdom_n into_o which_o this_o wildfire_n of_o god_n wrath_n begin_v so_o fast_o to_o fly_v and_o can_v we_o but_o lie_v to_o heart_n so_o great_a a_o sorrow_n or_o dare_v we_o for_o our_o soul_n but_o deal_n true_o with_o our_o god_n in_o seek_v sincere_o and_o careful_o search_v out_o the_o true_a cause_n in_o ourselves_o in_o our_o people_n and_o in_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n that_o shall_v thus_o provoke_v the_o lord_n against_o we_o
