loathe_v she_o and_o likewise_o the_o wife_n the_o husband_n for_o these_o cause_n do_v the_o apostle_n so_o earnest_o &_o diligent_o reason_n of_o the_o mutual_a society_n and_o love_n betwixt_o man_n and_o wife_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v if_o marry_a person_n purpose_v to_o lead_v a_o single_a life_n either_o because_o they_o suppose_v it_o to_o be_v more_o holy_a or_o else_o be_v prick_v thereto_o with_o sundry_a kind_n of_o lust_n not_o content_v themselves_o with_o that_o ordinary_a mean_a that_o god_n have_v appoint_v let_v they_o consider_v that_o they_o be_v tie_v one_o soberness_n &_o temperancy_n be_v kind_n of_o fast_v &_o prayer_n &_o shall_v not_o only_o be_v daily_o but_o also_o continual_a he_o speak_v therefore_o of_o such_o a_o fast_o as_o be_v a_o public_a and_o solemn_a testimony_n of_o repentance_n by_o which_o we_o turn_v away_o god_n wrath_n &_o vengeance_n or_o by_o which_o the_o faithful_a prepare_v themselves_o to_o prayer_n when_o they_o take_v in_o hand_n some_o earnest_a matter_n the_o same_o may_v be_v say_v of_o prayer_n as_o for_o example_n when_o some_o calamity_n or_o misery_n be_v nigh_o or_o if_o some_o token_n of_o god_n wrath_n appear_v or_o when_o some_o matter_n of_o great_a weight_n &_o importance_n be_v to_o be_v take_v in_o hand_n as_o the_o order_n of_o minister_n etc._n etc._n and_o sure_o the_o apostle_n do_v worthy_o join_v these_o two_o together_o not_o as_o though_o fast_v be_v a_o piece_n of_o god_n service_n but_o because_o it_o be_v a_o preparation_n unto_o prayer_n for_o the_o body_n be_v by_o fast_v subdue_v the_o more_o willing_o by_o the_o assistance_n of_o god_n spirit_n submit_v itself_o unto_o the_o spirit_n &_o be_v both_o join_v they_o pour_v forth_o more_o harti_fw-la supplication_n unto_o the_o lord._n and_o therefore_o our_o saviour_n christ_n join_v they_o together_o in_o like_a sort_n when_o he_o say_v this_o kind_n of_o devil_n be_v not_o cast_v forth_o but_o by_o fast_v and_o prayer_n now_o they_o in_o these_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n we_o have_v a_o plain_a overthrow_n of_o that_o popish_a doctrine_n of_o divorce_n a_o thoro_fw-la &_o mensa_fw-la that_o be_v to_o say_v from_o bed_n &_o board_n they_o teach_v that_o for_o sundry_a cause_n and_o end_n a_o man_n may_v be_v separate_v from_o his_o wife_n at_o the_o table_n and_o the_o bed_n &_o yet_o the_o apostle_n show_v that_o such_o separation_n can_v be_v make_v for_o any_o end_n but_o for_o this_o namely_o that_o they_o may_v give_v over_o themselves_o to_o fast_v and_o prayer_n their_o cause_n be_v worldly_a &_o fleshly_a but_o the_o apostle_n end_n be_v spiritual_a &_o heavenly_a no_o less_o vain_o and_o fond_o do_v they_o deal_v in_o the_o whole_a matter_n of_o divorce_n for_o whereas_o our_o saviour_n christ_n make_v but_o one_o cause_n and_o that_o be_v fornication_n they_o make_v nine_o or_o ten_o at_o the_o least_o and_o whereas_o by_o the_o warrant_n of_o god_n word_n the_o faultless_a party_n may_v marry_v if_o he_o have_v not_o the_o gift_n of_o continency_n for_o by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n the_o adulterer_n and_o adulteress_n shall_v both_o be_v put_v to_o death_n as_o before_o i_o show_v in_o the_o beginning_n and_o the_o woman_n be_v set_v free_a the_o husband_n be_v dead_a from_o the_o law_n of_o the_o man_n and_o the_o man_n from_o the_o law_n he_o be_v call_v the_o great_a &_o old_a serpent_n &_o can_v translate_v himself_o into_o the_o likeness_n of_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n he_o spare_v not_o christ_n but_o tempt_v he_o immediate_o after_o baptism_n &_o therefore_o he_o will_v not_o cease_v to_o assail_v we_o we_o have_v need_v therefore_o to_o be_v sober_a &_o watchful_a and_o to_o pray_v continual_o with_o the_o disciple_n &_o easy_o receive_v his_o wound_n but_o resist_v he_o by_o faith_n as_o i_o say_v before_o &_o he_o will_v flee_v far_o from_o us._n the_o lord_n endue_v we_o with_o force_n and_o strength_n of_o his_o spirit_n from_o above_o to_o wtstand_v satan_n &_o all_o his_o wicked_a temptation_n &_o imprint_v these_o thing_n in_o our_o heart_n which_o we_o have_v hear_v to_o the_o amendment_n of_o our_o
