their_o favourite_n they_o be_v according_a to_o the_o language_n of_o this_o text_n favourable_a to_o some_o above_o many_o either_o because_o they_o be_v beautiful_a and_o goodly_a person_n or_o because_o they_o be_v man_n of_o excellent_a speech_n prudence_n and_o comportment_n all_o godly_a man_n be_v god_n favourite_n he_o be_v favourable_a to_o they_o not_o only_o above_o many_o man_n in_o the_o world_n but_o above_o all_o the_o man_n of_o this_o world_n who_o have_v their_o portion_n in_o this_o life_n and_o he_o therefore_o favour_v they_o because_o they_o be_v the_o purchase_n of_o his_o son_n and_o the_o workmanship_n of_o his_o spirit_n convince_a they_o of_o and_o humble_v they_o for_o their_o sin_n as_o also_o create_v they_o after_o god_n in_o righteousness_n and_o god_n may_v seem_v to_o deny_v acceptation_n to_o his_o prayer_n and_o service_n david_n say_v psal_n 66.18_o if_o i_o regard_v iniquity_n in_o my_o heart_n the_o lord_n will_v not_o hear_v i_o and_o heaven_n they_o will_v enjoy_v the_o benefit_n and_o privilege_n which_o he_o have_v purchase_v for_o his_o people_n but_o they_o neglect_v christ_n himself_o nor_o do_v they_o think_v of_o close_v with_o his_o person_n now_o i_o say_v as_o unless_o we_o have_v respect_n to_o the_o person_n of_o christ_n and_o desire_v union_n with_o he_o we_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o his_o benefit_n he_o be_v the_o top_n and_o sum_n of_o all_o desirable_a favour_n it_o be_v the_o alpha_n and_o omega_n the_o first_o and_o last_o of_o all_o other_o favour_n to_o find_v god_n favourable_a to_o we_o if_o god_n be_v favourable_a to_o we_o it_o matter_n not_o much_o who_o frown_v upon_o we_o or_o what_o foul_a weather_n we_o meet_v with_o in_o this_o world_n and_o as_o to_o be_v in_o his_o favour_n shall_v be_v the_o chief_a of_o all_o our_o desire_n so_o to_o be_v assure_v of_o his_o favour_n shall_v be_v the_o chief_a of_o all_o our_o study_n and_o care_n 2_o cor._n 5.7_o herein_o say_v the_o
